- My friend Mike asked Chad and me if we’d like to join him for a few days at Merus Adventure Park. The plan was to meet up for breakfast in Warren, Oklahoma, then drive mostly two-lane highways to the off-road park in the Texas Panhandle. On the way, we’d stop at the Charles and Mary Ann Goodnight Ranch House, which is located right along our planned route to Merus.
Merus Adventure Park is located on 5500 acres in Palo Duro Canyon. It offers a wide variety of challenging trails, from easy to incredibly difficult (beyond what we were prepared to tackle). We would drive a few of the easy and intermediate trails, and walk one difficult trail, deciding we'd not drive it. We'd also camp two nights in two different sites. We were concerned about the weather and it was quite windy when we arrived. But contrary to the forecasts we'd seen, that eased up and the nights and mornings while cold, were reasonably tolerable.

It really is, Will. If you're ever passing through the TX Panhandle, you should consider a night or two there.
I’m so glad you all were able to experience and see this park. There was more to discover to the north and you seen most of the south.

Great video and thank you for sharing! I live in Virginia, but am planning to head that way on my next long trip out. I have family in Canyon, so will have to work this spot in with a visit for sure.

Did you get a new Jeep? if so, where's the introduction video?
I've had the 2020 Gladiator four years now, and had it out on a number of trips. Its first one, where I discuss it, was the Big Bend Explorations, January 2020 trip. A few other good trips to see it in action include El Camino del Diablo, February 2020; A Gathering of Wanderers, September-October 2022; Merus Winter Adventure, December 2023; and West Utah Winter Adventure, February-March 2024. It has also been on less-extended trips around Oklahoma during that time.
