  • It was another total solar eclipse, and there was no way after my experience viewing the 2017 event that I’d miss this one. That is, if the weather would cooperate! Jack, with whom I had climbed a small hill to experience the 2017 eclipse, would drive from Washington with his family to meet me at Rattan Landing in Oklahoma two days before the eclipse. And Alex, with whom I’d driven the Nevada BDR, would bring his wife from Nevada to meet us. We’d then drive to the Begg’s Family Farm in Chula, Arkansas where we had arranged to camp. The only downside: The weather forecast said we’d have thunderstorms in the area. Regardless, hoping for the best, I departed my home, driving a section of the Oklahoma Adventure Trail on my way to our meetup in the southeast part of the state. Join us on DxD Overland for this adventure to experience one of nature’s most incredible sights. In part 1, Jack and Alex drive out from their homes in Washington and Nevada, while I drive out along the Oklahoma Adventure Trail. After meeting up at Rattan Landing, we continue on to Begg's Family Farm.

Making sure you’re aware of the Bridgeport bridge reopening on May 10th at 3pm.

I would have welded that gas can right then and there! 😁

LOL. When you do, let me know so I can get it on video. 🙂
In a flight of fantasy, it did cross my mind, what procedure would allow one to weld that up? Back in my USAF days I do recall certain repairs on fuel tanks required draining, purging, defuming, etc, the fuel tanks. But I don't think they ever welded on the aircraft. I'll have to put that to my son-in-law, an aircraft fuel systems specialist now retired from USAF, but working quality control for the Army at Fort Huachuca. Honestly, I figure that can is headed to the scrap yard. I have two shiny, brand new Wavian cans in the garage waiting to swap them both out.
