Palpatine: "A conDEW-IT between the living and the dead"
Okay. Admit it Filloni. You did that on purpose
Lol I like your comment
he does everything on purpose :P
@@ASithLordd maybe not everything
Sabine’s expression when hearing Palpatine for the first time is a mood.
she should have been honored that the entire Senate are in her presence
@@johans3164 XD
Well she was suprised to know he was a Sith Lord barely anyone knew and if anyone beside Vader , Tarkin and the royal guards where to find out who he is he would kill them he hid his identity as a Sith away to persuade the crowd the senate and the people he was a hero
@@ibrasir5581 mas ammeda and sly Moore knew I believe
This show, especially these episodes, really expanded on the Force
It's absolutely one of my most favorite things about it; that, and how it couples the Force with family bonds.
Palpatine is voiced by his original actor, Ian McDiarmid. I thought they would bring in Sam Witwer again, but they got the original emperor!
Sam always says to Filoni, "If you need me to do Palpatine I'll do it, but if you can get Ian to do it for you, then definitely get him"
They also went back and got Ian to do the scene with Vader in Season 2 , where originally it was Sam.
@@quantum_ogre yeah but it sounds off to me
“Twin Suns” is a fan favorite, but this arc with “Wolves and a Door” and “A World Between Worlds” is probably the best with the latter being my favorite episode of Rebels.
All written by Filoni. This last season was up there with TCW Series, period!
No season 3 is Obi wan was in , maul , Garrera, the last battle and clone wars ship geonosis
9:50 There’s dialogue _and_ sound effects from the Mortis trilogy. I don’t think I noticed the latter before. Specifically that deep horn sound.
Fun fact: the majority of this episode, from the music to the plot, is a tribute to Raiders of the Lost Ark, more specifically, the map room scene.
Oh yes!! I remember the style of music hitting me hardest with that Indiana Jones feel!! :D
The scene at the temple with the PA announcements telling people to stay clear and watch for electrostatic discharge is right out of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". It references the ending scenes when the alien crafts are about to land.
I can’t watch this episode without immediately watching the next one.
Same. It pretty much changed everything I knew about StarWars and what it meant.
The next episode is probably one of my favorites. Not just in Rebels, but probably in all of Star Wars. Really cool imagry and lore coming your way. This arc is both hesrtbreaking and epic. Filoni at his best.
The 2D animation for the mural is so cool!
Look up Zoetropes, its classical 1830s animation style
It reminded me of Roman tile artwork of saints. Especially the "halo" around the Ones' heads.
11:34 Ezra pulled a road runner!
Meep meep!!
So you may not see this comment, but one of the interesting things about these episodes after they aired is Freddie Prince Jr and Filoni basically gave us Kanan’s backstory.
I still don’t understand it fully, because it’s still up for interpretation (because Freddie and Filoni LOVE to be cryptic). But basically from what Freddie said and what Filoni is implying (and I actually got Freddie to talk to me over on Twitter) is that Kanan is suppose to be from Lothal too,.
Hence why Palpatine said that Kanan’s death altered the fate of Lothal, and also why he was drawn to the planet in the first place and all why he and Ezra were drawn to each other, further deepening their connection and bond within the Force. And according to Freddie everything is explained through the hieroglyphics on the wall back in the episode “Kindred” Though again it’s all still up in the air for theories.
I think Rebels got a lot of hate because of the writing/ animation style and I think some of it is true. Compared to Clone Wars, this show has more "Disney" in it than Clone Wars (especially the new season)... However, the Lore and cryptic parts of this show, all the way through, is really good. The seeds planted in previous seasons... well, you know. I won't spoil for anyone who hasn't seen the full season yet :) .
Total War HQ Rebels wasn’t suppose to be telling this huge gigantic plot. Unlike Clone Wars where it was literally telling us the events of before Revenge of the Sith so it had to be this huge climactic thing. Rebels was a simple story. As important as Luke and Anakin are to the Star Wars franchise, there are thousands and billions of other people living in the galaxy. Rebels was simply showing that. A found family surviving and fighting against the Empire.
Not every Star Wars story has to be as huge as Clone Wars. Clones Wars was it’s own thing with it’s own unique animation, and Rebels regardless of how people feel about the animation, was also it’s own story, And it was a damn good one at that.
The next episode is one of the best in the entire show!
Next episode is one of the best Star Wars media, IMO
Agreed. My second-favorite episode in the show, after the Season 2 finale.
This is one of if not the most fascinating mysteries of the series. The way the Emperor said it’s a conduit between life and death, and the Mortis Gods, makes me feel like this is something man should never have tempered with. And it’s awesome.
Standing by for tomorrows experience.. It's a bit insane.. haha, I can't wait.
Favorite moments: Force wolf hyperspace, PALPATINE, Hera feeling Kanan on her shoulder, return of the Mortis gods in an epic and artistic way, and pretty much anything with Malcolm McDowell's minister.
Also, Gaxelle saying "Dew it!" when Ezra is considering jumping through the portal. 😂
Btw, the scene with Kanan isn't depicting an extension of Kanan like the Loth-Wolf Dume. He is just a memory of Hera's in that moment.
I think that's supposition. The force was really strong near the temple - just as it was on Mortis. Just like how Qui-Gon was able to manifest fully on Mortis without completing the Whills' training, it's possible Kanan was able to achieve a similar feat in a very limited area around the temple.
@@OverkillDM I think you're right. That's been my interpretation. You can't usually show "presence" in a visual medium without showing it... visually. So that's what they did here. Kanan's presence within the Force was consolidated and potent right there. you can tell that his presence leaves later in a specific scene from next episode.
Kanan post mortem actually only visualizes himself as a Loth-Wolf.
Everytime I see papa palps I get hatred rising in me, for what he done to my favourite Grand Republic
Good, good. Let the hate flow through you. Feel it's power and destroy your enemies.
Same, except I’ve got no love for the actual government of the Republic, that was actually corrupt and the CIS (not the council that Vader massacred) were right to secede. Hate roses in me for all the lives that he’s destroyed.
Truly the ultimate villain in Star Wars.
Only a few episodes left but they are definitely some of the best. I think you will really like the next one, Gaxelle 😉
What I love the most about the end of Rebels is how it builds such mystery around the Force. It wants balance and Lothal is integral to it so it is guiding the only Force user it can to set up a tipping point. I also love wolves, like Filoni, so that makes it cooler. lol.
I've watched these episodes so many times and still get chills as if I'd never seen them before. The power of Star Wars storytelling
Not just Star Wars storytelling but great storytelling in general. Take the Greek myths, for example, every time I read them or watch a documentary about them. I always get a sense of adventure and it feels like I am hearing them for the first time even though I'm very familiar with them
I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to suggest having subtitles on for the next episode or not. Those of you who have seen the episode, you know why. I think it’ll probably be okay to have them.
This ^
I think it’ll be okay. What you’re talking about was meant for those of us that know, but it’ll be a shame if they are missed. This chronological order thing is fine, but if (nostalgic) things for the rest of us are going to be missed what is the point? Just my 2c.
OMG, I can't wait for your reaction to the next episode lol!!!
Kanan losing his sight (not his vision) was a major blow to the show, but his death in the series was a big emotional shot-in-the-face. But like all of Star Wars, this show can uplift you with a family moment in an instant.
This episode emphasizes Ezra's connection both to the force, and to all living things. You can see his growth in the force.
These next two Episodes are not only some of the Best Rebels content but the Best SW Story Telling out there! TY Dave Filoni, You have out done yourself Again!
Minister Hydan is one of more than a few creepy advisors that hang around with Palpatine.
Malcolm Mcdowell was the perfect sinister brit to cast for his voice. And it's cool to see Imperials who are part of the Sith Cult, compared to those who dismiss the Force as ancient mysticism of a bygone era, like Pryce does
I've always thought the Lothwolves had spiritual significance. But this episode blew my mind! I mean, wow!!
BTW the voice of the lead archeologist is played by the late great actor David Warner, mostly noted for his voice portrayal of Ra'as al Ghoul in Batman TAS.
Whelp. Here we are, tomorrow is the one we’ve all been waiting for.
Before the finale yes.....
Notification squad hype. I love this arc of rebels it just gets better and better.
Ha ha! I love watching your reactions because I get choked up in the same spots and seeing you really invested in and leaking just at the right parts tells me that you have such a good heart and I get teary eyed again watching YOU get teary eyed.
Another theory I hold is that both the Lothwolves and the Lothcats are defenders of Lothal and have been since the beginning, judging by the wall pictures seen throughout the series.
These episodes are really the highlight of my day. Also glad you're sticking with the KotOR music at the end. So nostalgic XD
man idk why but I had chills watching your reaction to this
This and the next are AMAZING. Also keep captions on. Also also, this episode guest stars both Malcolm McDowell and Ian McDiarmid(returning as Palpatine)
Fun fact: The creepy minister (Veris Hydan) is voiced by Malcolm McDowell.
Alex from Clockwork Orange. And Dr Loomis in the Rob Zombie Halloween movies.
Another Fun fact.. MINOR SPOILER they made the minister look similar to snoke on purpose, to keep fans guessing of his identity.
@@rafaelwrencher8478 Is that confirmed or just speculation on your part? I haven't read that anywhere from people who are involved in the show.
@@josephwantock1993 was on the high of snoke speculations... It was never confirmed, but everyone got the Sense that this was a "testing Waters" kinda of decision...
@@rafaelwrencher8478 Yeeaahh, I have nothing against some fun fan speculation but I highly doubt that was the show's intention to fuel Snoke speculation with that character. It was simply a coincidence that Hyden looks kinda, sorta like Snoke.
Your going to love the next one!!!!
You’re gonna love the next episode I’ll leave it there
Gazelle,
I’m not sure if others have given you this advice or not. But, when you get to the final episode of Rebels, I would do the folllowing:
-Watch the first 42:25 and then stop.
-Then watch Rogue One and the OT.
-Then come back and watch the final 4:00 of the final episode of Rebels.
I’m basing these time codes off the Disney+ version of S4, E15.
I can explain why without spoiling, but that’s my advice. I think it would take a little something away from the OT to watch the last 4:00 of Rebels beforehand.
The Convor is Ahsoka's Force Guide, her Spirit Animal. Like the Wolf is to Caleb/Kanan.
The next episode is one of the most important, it’s real it’s all real.
Love Star Wars rebels
Ok, I have been watching your vids for a while, but I'm subbing until now since you'll be reviewing one of my fav pieces of Star Wars lore so far tomorrow
Do you notice how Ezra and Sabine do more things together, like just them?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Lmao Sabezra needs to become canon 😂
@@aaaaaaaaaaaaa6087 Totally
You thought this was intriguing? Wait for tomorrow. Best episode.
Now, this episode shows why the Loth Wolves exhibit power that you generally don't see. They are servants of the Mortis Gods. They bear knowledge and abilities that surpass what the Jedi and Sith know, but I like how Ezra treats it. Had he been a Sith, he would have coveted that knowledge for himself to use whenever he wanted, but as a Jedi, he's fine with others using the ability for them when it is needed for an important thing.
Just compare the father, son and daughter to the scale of Ma'at. The father is the scale holding them together(balance) daughter, the feather of truth(light, good), the son the heart(darkness, evil) love the symbolism
Hearing the Emperor saying names of characters from the cartoons is so cool
Hey Gaxelle I know you have a few episodes left but I have to ask you something: are you going to split the last episode reaction in two parts? Because I saw that on Disney+ it's not split in half and I would really like to see as more of your reaction as possible!
Or she could do it how she does the movies, where she reacts to the whole thing, but its just her so we'd have to put the show on another screen for us
@@joethahobo I don't know, I would prefer my option but yours is fine too.
This episode and the next one are, perhaps, my favourite in the 4th season
Steady yourself for the next episode.
It's a real doozey.
A lot of us still talk and debate about what happens in the episode...
Okay, Chopper being picked up by the loth wolf is hilarious.
My favorite thing with this episode is the indiana jones vibes they put in down to the music being like star wars done with an indiana jones feel
i can't wait until she watches the next episode, it is one of my favorites!
My mistake, the voice actor is Malcolm MacDowell, from Star Trek Generations with Patrick Stewart and William Shatner.
That was a cool episode D:
coming to the end, great trip it was
Fun fact: Think this was the first time we saw Hera lower her goggles
Prepare to have your mind blown
I liked the Indiana Jones type setting and musical cues, but cannot wait for your next review!!
i want all these new shows to come out before i finish rebels >.< idk what ill do in that time
happy new years everyone!
the last episode of the season is a double length episode. So will you be splitting up the reaction into two videos or just publishing the full reaction without the episode (like your movie reactions)?
What may happen, and why they got John Favrau is, that they're gonna have the jedi time travel and stop Annakin from becoming Vader. That's the trend with movies and shows lately. Like the Flash, Endgame, and a few others I cant remember.
I chose to believe that the droid Chopper kicked off the Ghost a few seasons ago that ended up with some Lothcats told them what happened and the wolves agreed to even the karmic scales ;-)
Great analysis.
And here comes my Favorites episodes Xelle os going to enjoy the next one a lot! Like I said Rebels explains more about the force 😎
I wonder how she will react to certain things about the episode. Given how she's not seen the OT
Can't wait to see the reaction to next episode.
Now that's what you call ROCK Stormtroopers 😂🤪
That was crazy
Here we go.
Ian McDiarmid is always a win
Your gonna be happy with the next episode
You are awesome Xelle :)
Why would anyone thumbs down her videos?
Jealousy
@jockadoobee Yeah, or Dark side Trump supporters..
Now, it's time for the next episode. I can't wait to see you react to it, it's an amazing one.
Just wait for the next episode, by far my favourite Rebels episode.
That travel through hyperspace?, force space? Reminds me a little of the Warp in 40K. With thoughts, feelings, emotions, memories and even time itself coming together there. As for Choppers experience, it depends if he has soul. Which in 40K true self aware AI (which is biggest crime there is) supposedly does, or gains one. To the point they can sell that soul to evil. As to why Sabine can translate the temple is simple, she is an art historian as well as an artist. Its why her dad said her art is highly influenced by early Mando art masters. It was never meant as a critique, but more him wanting her to create her own way. As for this arc, I again always assumed Ezra was the first Jedi/Force Sensitive from Lothal in a really, really long time. The Jedi Temple itself, appears to be built over Force Nexus, probably created by the Celestial's/Mortis Gods. So the reason we are getting essentially Force-ex machina. Is because Sith are once again messing with the Force (like they did in the Plaugus novel) and as before, the Force fights back. Finally Malcolm McDowell awesome as always, who I hope appears in the Mandalorian, he just would fit so well.

No Ashoka isn’t the light or the daughter when she faced the son the daughter resurrected her so the daughter is the embodiment of the light
Hello there!
In legends there was the Father, Sister, Brother and the Mother but it is very unlikely the mother will ever become canon again since her story is a bit more complicated then the other 3.
Next episode will 🔥🔥
in dave filoni we trust
You are gonna love next episode
You’ll like the next episode
Hey Xelle, hope you’re well. Any clue what your next reaction series is gonna be?
After Rebels will be Rogue One then the OT, there's also a little bit left of missed CW eps that she may decide to do.. Then she'll do a rewatch of The Mandalorian Season 1 then also watch SW Resistance before rewatching the ST
Tomorrow is another biggie
Who’s ready for the next episode?!?
Gaxelle is a Jedi Knight now :)
Still a few more eps of Rebels before she becomes a Knight, then she'll be a Master after she finishes the OT coz at that point she would've seen all of the mainstream SW content
Jerick E I meant she’s understanding the force and Morris
@@robthebuilder9908 Yeah I get that, but if you follow Xelle on discord it'll make more sense as to why she can't be a "master" yet ;)
Mortis stupid auto correct
@@j3RicK24 When I walked out of the theater in 1977 I never could have imagined all this.
Wait was that actually Ian McDermott reprising his role as Emperor Palpatine?
Can you do a mandalorian reaction series
She’s already seen it but she’s been thinking of doing rewatch videos
Me loooooove this epsiode
Why do you have skipped the Scene with the Thrawn holo? xd it was verry nice
You might need to just watch the next one asap!
