I think she might have been stuck there and only got rescued due to Ezra now knowing she was alive and stuck there. They assumed she died in season 2 so they had no reason to go back, and I know the Inquisitor Ties would have let her leave but I assume Vader had them recalled or destroyed when he left

Some time passed between when she left to the world between worlds, and arrived back on Malachor, since she got back after Vader fell, and then came out of the temple ruins. Plus Ezra of course spent time in the portal.

It’s beautiful, moving, mystical, mind bending, creative (and influenced by the wood between the worlds in the C S Lewis Narnia story The Magicians Nephew). The scene at the end with Hera and Ezra talking, followed by Ezra staring at the wolf and saying good bye to Kanan, is just so exquisitely beautiful and moving.

I never thought I'd see time travel (well, sort of) in Star Wars, and I never thought I'd love it this much. The wonder and majesty of the World Between Worlds is astonishing, and the fact that Ahsoka essentially faced the Inquisitors, Maul, Vader, and the Emperor all in the space of a few minutes is insane!
This was also the episode where it hit me just how Ezra really has grown. He only needed "One Last Lesson."

Love villains that aren’t one dimensional, and aren’t purely evil, hut palps is the exception, and Ian Mcdiarmid just cannot be recast. Back when Rebels was originally airing, those of us who were fans were flabbergasted by the fact that many people, who were otherwise Star Wars fans, wouldn't give it a shot because they saw it as a "Kids show.". Kind of amusing to think of in retrospect, given just how adult and complex it could get, especially in yhe second half of the 4th season. Ahsoka has a very impressive track record. She's fought Ventress and survived every time. She fought Grevious twice and survived despite him cutting down Knights and Masters. She overthrew a corrupt government. She brutalized Death Watch. She fought Maul and defeated him despite him having killed Qui Gon (even more impressive She can take him 1 v 1 while Qui Gon and Obi-Wan had to fight him together). She survived Order 66 when so many fell. She made quick work of two Inquisitors. She briefly fought Maul again. She fought Vader, gave him a good fight, and survived. And she even encountered Palpatine and survived.
Anakin was a way better mentor than people give him credit for. His training was intense, but it made her overpowered and prepared to face anything.

To add to what others have said, it's presumed she remained on Malachor to wait out her time where she shouldn't be alive so that she wouldn't cause a paradox with other events. That's based on her deduction with Ezra trying to save Kanan and causing a paradox. I'm not going to spoil the rest of the series, but essentially she stays in isolation until after the events of the finale, although we do not have an answer as to how or when she comes back into the picture yet.

Ahsoka didn't die because Ezra saved ger- it's a loop, but Ahsoka apparently needed to learn what was in the Sith temple- which we see her go back into with the owl Morai. The owl is the Daughter from the Mortis arc that gave her life to save Ahsoka- but she's the embodiment of the light side of the Force, so can't truly die- only be reborn as something else.

The way I saw it, was that Ahsoka and Ezra met each other in a place outside of time, so since neither travels to each other's time, no time "travel" occurred. She saw Ezra in the future back then, we just weren't privy to seeing it until now. It's like they both stepped into a room from their different places in time that existed, spend an hour/half hour or however long there together in real time, then went back and appeared after that amount of time happened in their perspective points in time.

From Asoka‘s perspective, there is apparently zero time differential between her fighting Vader and her being pulled into the world between worlds, meaning that in the space of like a few hours she fought three inquisitors, and three Sith Lords, and at the very least, got away with it. And she did all of that, except for Sidious, on what is implied to be a dark side force nexus. She boss rushed basically the whole sith on hard mode.

As already stated for the last reaction, here comes my very long comment, so for anybody how actually gets through the comment I really hope you will let me know by answering and maybe even sharing what you think of "The World Between Worlds". Full transparency: I copy at least parts of this comment because I don't want to write it new every time. Here is my current understanding of it:
For me "The World between Worlds" works like "TimeTravel" in Harry Potter (or DARK if somebody has seen that show), meaning everything has always happend. You can't change the timeline, you can just travel through but that will already be considered in the current events. Of course, it will still be desirable to get into the World between Worlds because Characters in the Universe don't know about the Future (not like we as viewers) and would still like to change things at multiple points at the same time and therefore influence the Future, but generally what is Canon now can't be changed when a Character goes into the World between Worlds, it can only be explained (like the end of Season 2 of Rebels was explained in this Episode)
That is the reason I think this is the case when it comes to keeping Canon intakt and not making StarWars to complicated and full of plot-holes.
Here comes the in universe explanation:
This one hinges on the idea that THE FORCE is there to keep balance and that the World between Worlds is a manifestation of the Cosmic Force, the part of the Force that encompasses time and space. Naturally the World between Worlds would then be a bridge between different places and times BUT if you do use this bridge it changes nothing about the time or space you go to since in terms of Cosmic Force there is no Time and Space keeping events apart (as pretty obvious because of how the World between Worlds works). So, when you travel to a different time/space, it is simply like you would travel in the normal world just that boundaries of Space and Time no longer exist.
Right, now the last problem: Paradoxes!
My personal believe is, that because the World between Worlds is based on the Cosmic Force which is Time and Space (and holds both in place) you simply can't create a Paradox. Remember: The force keeps balance and structure so it would be very strange if a manifestation of the Cosmic Force would allow for a Paradox to be created (the exact opposite of balance and structure). The only problem here is of course that Ezra could have created a Paradox in Rebels if he would have saved Kanan (and killed himself in the process). Here are the two explanations I personally think are reasonable:
    1. The simple HE DIDN'T DO IT. The Cosmic Force showed him the event and he didn't create the Paradox because of Ahsoka reminding him that loss is needed. Because the Cosmic Force is a force of Nature there doesn't need to be a limit or some sort of barrier. If it is a natural rule that you can't create Paradoxes even if you have the opportunity you simply can't create them. Something will always interfere (like Ahsoka did in this case). You simply can't explain some natural rules.
    2. The vision was not real but in fact created and produced by Palpatine so that Ezra reaches through giving him entrance to the World between Worlds because, as we later see with the flames, in order for him to enter he needs to connect with a person inside and the Lothal Temple will not allow him to enter because you need to use the light side of the force to enter the World between Worlds from that Gateway (I am sure there are others, some maybe needing the dark side or even "the middle"). I find this a pretty good theory, especially because Palpatine appears in the same gateway as Kanan was only moments ago and while we don't know much about the World between Worlds yet, I find it quite hard to believe that a gateway can simply change it's connected place and time. The only thing that is a bit strange would be how Palpatine can do something so powerful but not enter the World between Worlds itself BUT we also know Palpatine is a master of deception so this would be a power he would be very interested and skilled in.
Lastly I wand to point out the Mortis-Gods and their different uses in controlling the gateway. Starting with the basics: The 3 are symbols for the 3 directions of the force: Light (Sister), Dark (Brother) and "the Middle" (Father).
What is really interesting is that for the Gateway to open in this Temple you needed to connect with the Sister and therefore use the Light side of the force (the map glowed Golden/Light). This is very good for us as no Sith could have entered the Temple, even if they understood what they needed to do. I want to point out that Ezra had no problem opening the gate after concentrating a bit.
Now, when Ezra closed the gate he needed to interact with the Brother and therefore use the Dark side of the force (the Map glowed Red/Dark). He did actually managed to pull it of BUT he was so drained from that effort that he passed out shortly after and was probably gone for several hours, considering the Time changed from Night to Day.
This to me shows that over the past 2 seasons he has distanced himself more and more from the Dark Side (since the beginning of Season 3) and has truly become a Light-Side Force-User (no Jedi of the old order, like Ahsoka, since he was never knighted by Kanan).
What is even more interesting when thinking about this is however the possibility of somebody being in Ezra's position who never had contact with the Dark-Side of the Force. Such a person would probably not have been able to close the gate fully, giving the Emperor a possible entrance into the World between Worlds. Even powerful Jedi like Obi-Wan and Yoda would not have been able to do so since they never connected with the Dark Side and have no experience in using it. Ezra used it extensively in the Past and even he had problems with it. As you can see, Ezra was basically the perfect person to have interacted with this specific gateway into the World between Worlds in order to keep the Emperor out.
Oke, that was my comment. I hope at least somebody got through it 😅 and maybe has some thoughts he would like to share

Wonderful reaction to this superbly well crafted episode. In addition to everything everyone said, the Music... how awesome it is, especially in the last scene, after saying goodbye to Kanan, Ezra in the beautiful background and the song ending in the so familiar notes...

Ahsoka never died, no. She's been off on her own since going back to Malachor just as Vader is leaving, where we see her at the end of season 2. Cannot wait for you to get through this last arc. It's a blast.

The way I understood it, Ezra basically pulled her into the future from her fight with Vader, and then when she went back into the portal, she returned to that timeline and walked out of the Sith temple. Ezra may have thought she died back at the end of season 2, but the viewers saw her walk out of the temple as well at the end of the Season 2 finale, so not sure why we (viewers) would have thought she died.

if you rewatch the last few seconds of the 2nd season finale you see vader fly away in his ship and you see a shadow enter into that door in the temple. I and have understand it she was dropped back at the time she was pulled out just after stabbing the floor and sending vader down. In the worlds between worlds time seems not to be a factor(as you noticed all the dialogs in the background)

Ahsokah did not miss out on anything from her perspective because Ezra pulled her into his present time from the past. Then she went back in and rejoined her past time just after fighting Vader.......................I think LOL.

I know it can be confusing to wrap your head around. Ahsoka was definitely alive at the end of the S2 finale, so Ezra didn't change the past by pulling her out. I'm pretty sure she returned to the place and time he pulled her out of. That shot of her after she went back through the portal matches really well with the shot of her walking away in the S2 finale.
Also... and I never even noticed this before re-watching with you... but Morai flew through the portal with her. And once again, if you look at the S2 finale, Morai is there at the end as Vader is limping away. I suspect Ahsoka spent a lot of the time in between stranded on Malachor. I don't think there were any ships left on the planet at the end of S2, but I have to go back to those episodes and count the ships again.
Also, yes, some of the voices you heard when Ezra was in the World Between Worlds are definitely the voices of people you haven't met yet.

I will be shocked if in Andor season 2 they don't do a live action version of the secret cargo episode from season 3 of Rebels where Mon Mothma officially joins the rebellion and starts the alliance. I saw video of Cassian escaping somewhere with Mon Mothma on set shooting a scene. I wonder if Cassian rescued her before she met the ghost crew.

sad thing is: as we see anakin would have killed her without hesitation. Dave Filonie even confirmed that when he said they didnt need to be enemies and they would show her mercy, he was lying. He wanted all the jedi locations from her and would have killed her afterwards like it was nothing.

Ahah welcome to the marvellous world of time paradoxes 😁 If you liked this you should seriously start watching Doctor Who. I don't think Ahsoka went back in time, too, personally. I think she remained in Ezra's present time (thus she saw her in the "future" in season 2 finale). It does make more sense to me.

Ahsoka was wrong Ezra wouldn't save Kanan. Kanan's death was an illusion created by Palpatine to trick Ezra into helping the Sith get inside. That could be an interesting reaction.

Actually the question is: Did Ahsoka returned back to Malakor right after the duel with Vader or 2 years later. The answer to this is unknown. My guess is that we are going to get some clarity in the upcoming Ahsoka show.
Fun detail about the duel: 3:04 Ahsoka used exactly same move Gandalf used in his duel against Balrog in Moria - destroying the surface under the opponent. It worth to keep in mind for later :D

    • @BMHorakhty
      @BMHorakhty Před rokem

The answer is known, she return just few minutes after her duel with Vader, you can see it at the end of Twilight of The Apprentice after Vader limp of the ruins you see her going deeper in the temple in that triangle shape.

  • @beatricesanfilippo6925

I like that scene where Ezra reacts what really happened at Darth Vader and Ahsoka After Malachor and the important thing that i like Is that Ezra had almost find out that Vader Is Anakin seeing his true Blue Eye through the broken Mask and even Ezra didn't see Ahsoka's reaction that She was in back while She Is continue to fight against Anakin. And the Moment that i like Is that Anakin and Ahsoka react that Malachor Temple Is going to crash over them and they were distracted and they were blinded to continued to fight Just like a true clone Wars Moment. I Hope that you must see Clone Wars and Bad Batch because they are both important and you will see that Anakin was innocent because of Palpatine that he Is the true villain. But you must learn that Ezra and Ahsoka and even Rex will never see Anakin in the end of the movie return of Jedi........ I Hope that Ezra must learn that Darth Vader Is Anakin After he frees Lothal because It's very important. After Ezra and Ahsoka were attacked by Palpatine, i Hope that Ahsoka was return on Malachor Temple to see Darth Vader Is ok and to told him that Ezra Lost Kanan. You see? Anakin and Ahsoka made a wonderful Adventure during the clone Wars until season 7 made them separation before Ezra Born. Star Wars the clone Wars are sevens seasons and you must Watch It, ok?

I 100% believe This episode was Dave Filoni's way of introducing to Star Wars the time travel mechanic to ret-con everything sequel trilogy to get true Legends Bad-Ass Jedi MASTER Luke (hint.. Mando season 2 finale), Thrawn Trilogy (Rebels, Ahsoka series, and upcoming Mando-verse Filoni directed big screen Thrawn movie), then finally... The Yuuzhan Vong War!!! Outside of the Old Republic stories, the Yuuzhan Vong's introduction, which Emperor Palpatine allegedly built the Empire to prepare the galaxy to face off with... Is Absolutely cataclysmic to anything close you've seen in anything Star Wars... Like.. TRIIIILLIONS die in this upcoming war after Thrawn 😮😁 and Filoni needs Luke in his prime as a major part of those stories!!
