I got to watch End of Evangelion in theaters this month and it was the best thing that's ever happened to me. The visuals and the animation on the big screen were obviously amazing but the thing I wasn't expecting was the SOUND! It was so loud that it shook the seats. Didn't watch a lot this past month.
Started with American Fiction. I thought it was kinda messy but very enjoyable and funny. I don't think it exactly deserved the oscar but I don't think it didn't either. Good movie.
Next I watched Dune Part 1, which I had completely avoided until now because I didn't want to have to wait for Part 2. I enjoyed it, though I did feel kinda lost at points. I wasn't exactly in the right mindset when I watched it, should probably rewatch it at some point.
Lastly, I rewatched Oppenheimer, which still holds up on repeat viewings. Still impressive that a 3 hour biopic surrounding WWII is one of my favorite movies from last year, nothing about that is the kinda stuff I generally like

    I'm a bit late but here's what I watched,
Kung Fu Panda (9/10) - _A childhood favorite of mine that still holds up incredibly well. Stellar art direction, good characters, amazing fights and a great soundtrack, it's way better than most people realise._
Kung Fu Panda 2 (8.5/10) - _Although not quite a well paced as the first one, it's still a great sequel that expands the world and gives a much needed emotional background to Po. Also, Lord Shen is the best villian in the franchise/series._
Kung Fu Panda 3 (7.5/10) - _The movie relies a bit too much on plot convenience and lacks the sense of urgency until like the last 30 minutes. The fights aren't all that memorable either which is a bummer. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it quite a bit and it has some really good individual moments sprinkled in._
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Season 1 (9.5/10) - _It takes an unique concept and turns it into a profound and thought-provoking experience that I haven't felt in a while. If you're looking for a great traditional fantasy then this is a must watch._
Shōgun episodes 1-7 (8.5/10) - _I got around watching it solely based on the positive reception it got and so far it's really good. The production values and set pieces are off the charts, the cinematography is beautiful and the performances are great especially Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai. Only three more episodes left to go and if all goes well it has the potential to be an all timer, only time will tell._
Alright! That's it. See you next month.

Your ability to write down a concise review of a Kurosawa movie in one minute is seriously amazing. I tried writing down a criticism of any Kurosawa movie I watched and I myself feel like my review gets bloated and comes off pretentious. Inspiring man, thanks.

The Battle Of Algiers is a classic. So good that the US Military used this movie as a reference during the Iraq War.
I hope I can watch this movie in theaters.

I wouldn't describe Breaking the Waves as heartless at no cost. It just SEEM as a depressing movie. It's just on a surface though. Just remember the ending, it's spiritual and devine.
