Get a Jetta TDI and spend the 10k difference from your Evo to upgrade the turbocharger and computer, you can make at least 250 hp and 380 tq out of that engine reliably. The best part is the car will still be getting over 30 mpg, still twice what you get out of your Evo that you prob shift at redline, destroying the engine.

Oh, and sorry to burst your bubble, but Top Gear USA is about unlikely as a Kia supercar.

@LutzfromPS2 Becuase putting a Diesel engine into the vehicle costs MONEY! Duh! A gasoline engine can be made for as little as $800 USD, and the factory is there in the US. Meanwhile to get a Diesel in the US market, requires you IMPORT the engine across the ocean from wherever (i'm nto gonna scour for the factory location, there is no US small diesel plant) pluss it will cost around $2500... now, will I pay an extra $3000 for a diesel? No. I would not... unless I understood how much LONGER it

and in reguards to these new revelatious engines...don't buy into the bull shit. they have tiny ass fuel filters that plug up easily, especially with biodiesel in some places. they're more expensive to fix, and get shitier mileage than the older engines. i'm a trucker, and we all hate these new engines in semi's too. the old jetta was perfectly fine the way it is. if ur too damn stupid to not drive a car cuz it's a little noisier than ur gas car, u don't deserve to be on the road.

My Jetta TDI is 8 years older and averages around 47mpg city and highway mixed. I got 52 on the highway.

Audi's speaking from experience are very unreliable, I'd go with the jetta tdi because of fuel economy.
