When Jeter got a standing ovation at Fenway, When mortal enemies clapped and cheered for one of the best shortstops of all time, the ultimate respect, I love this sport.
I feel so old. I remember back in high school and I literally still have all 3 of these cards. Chipper Jones, Derek Jeter, and Mariano Rivera. All rookie cards.
I never got chills more than when enter sandman came on during that all star game for mariano. And I'm a Phillies fan. True class act and incredible closer
Baseball players are the classiest of the bunch. I guess it comes from being an America staple, the fans and athletes alike are so incredibly appreciative and respectful. Love it!
I am a lifelong Orioles fan. I always remember when the O's played the Yankees and Rivera would come in. It was like "well, this game's over." :) That guy was a beast!
Great baseball players who not only tried hard to give everything they can contribute but took the all expectations on their shoulders, deserved ovation like that.
Watching this only makes me emotional, as a native St. Louisan who is flying home in August to see one final Cards game where HOPEFULLY, Pujols is DH'ing. After that, I will never see his name in a STL uniform again. He will have his #5 retired alongside Yadier's #4 and maybe even Waino's #50
It was great that Derek Jeter got a huge ovation from Red Sox fans despite being a New York Yankees player. Yes the rivalry between the Yankees and the Red Sox can be very spicy but those Red Sox fans cant help but cheer Jeter.
Thank you to whoever decided to play New York, New York when Jeter walked off the field and thank you to whoever decided to let Mo walk on the field alone
All opposing players were so happy and glad to applaud Mariano Rivera's last walk out of the pen because they knew they would never be struck out by him again. So they were like THANK YOU JESUS FOR RIVERA RETIRING. LOL !!!!
There's two things that are true about the guys that get standing ovations from everyone present - whether teammate/fan or opposition player/opposing fan. They are great players, and they have good attitudes, which is why they are universally respected. You don't see many whiners in these groups. (There is no way I would be standing or applauding a Harper, Bautista, Machado, Sale, or a long list of others)
The incredible part on this video was that when they took out Jeter and he is busy hugging his American League teammates the opposing team did not continue pitching until he came back out for a curtain call. That is the ultimate sign of RE2PECT.
I never ever comment on CZcams videos but I had to with this one. You are missing the Paul O'Neill standing O that the Yankees fan gave him during his last inning in the field at Yankee stadium during the 2001 world series. You have to edit that into this video.

I'm a Met fan, and I hate the Yankees to the core of my being. But, Derek Jeter was always a hard player to dislike even a little bit.
This sport loves you.
I feel so old. I remember back in high school and I literally still have all 3 of these cards. Chipper Jones, Derek Jeter, and Mariano Rivera. All rookie cards.
I remember when Don Mattingly's Topps rookie card went for $200 in the mid 80s
Whoever thought of having no one on the field when Mariano came out. Brilliant. Thank you.
That would be Jim Leyland, All Star manager
Allowed it to be his moment
I never got chills more than when enter sandman came on during that all star game for mariano. And I'm a Phillies fan. True class act and incredible closer
Same here.
Jeter and Rivera. Man, what a great memory as a Yankee fan
Baseball players are the classiest of the bunch. I guess it comes from being an America staple, the fans and athletes alike are so incredibly appreciative and respectful. Love it!
I wish that was true for all fans. Last game I went to there was an eight year old heckler behind me screaming the whole game. Disgraceful.

Can you imagine being the parent of these legends? I couldn't keep it together for sure. 60000 people cheering for your child has to be unexplainable.
Or being their son!!!!

Mariano Rivera!!!! simplemente el mejor de todos los tiempos
As a Royals fan, I got chills with Salvy being the one to catch Mariano Rivera in his final ASG.
I heard those Red Sox tell Jeter “I love you.”
They were released right after the game.
THANK YOU SO MUCHHOW I ENJOYED THIS VIDEO I FELT LIKE I WAS THERE MYSELF. ROBBIE PHILADELPHIA PA FISHTOWN
Great list of guys who played hard and was respected

The 3 classiest shortstops to play the game: Ozzie Smith, Cal Ripken Jr. and Derek Jeter.
I respect chipper jones, played hard never had any problems, been to Shea plenty of times where he destroyed us, guy could rake.
All opposing players were so happy and glad to applaud Mariano Rivera's last walk out of the pen because they knew they would never be struck out by him again. So they were like THANK YOU JESUS FOR RIVERA RETIRING. LOL !!!!

You're the man chipper.
I love how I saw grandpa Ross in a different uniform than the cubs
Great vid
Paul oneil 2001 world series. Now that is an ovation.
True.
YES! Yankees were on the verge of going down 3-1 in the series, no one cared. It was disregarded to honor the Warrior
Loved Chipper Jones
Could you do an updated one maybe including Roger Clemons ,David Ortiz Alex Rodrigues
Ripken, Jeter, Chipper
The greatest closer of all time.
Look at all those happy hitters knowing they won't have to try and get anymore hits off Mo's nasty cutter
Cutter. And you're right about the rest!
@@rla1000 you are correct lol
I saw myself on the Paul konerko one
What about the Mick on June 8th 1969. Longer than any of these.
Hey, am I the only one that noticed they misspelled, "standing" at the beginning of this video?
I'm a yanks fan. You'll never see on the same team the likes of Mariano and Derek on the same team again.

And the whole stadium chanting his name.
Love u 14
Mariano Rivera forever best
Where is the video of Lou Gehrig's ceremony on 1939 Appreciation Day? 60k fans were present that day.
ichiro returning to seattle homerun 9th inning when he was a marlin.
chipper jones. chipper jones. chipper jones. chipper jones. chipper jones. chipper jones.
2:22 2 3000 hitters, rare moment just FYI
I got chills when jeter came on.... but that’s bc my rooms 60 degrees and I’m freezing my butt off
I'm assuming it was Chipper's last game so that's why they gave him a standing ovation

TROY TULOWITZKI RETURNING TO COORS FIELD!!
Good call, I'll put that in the next one
Having good players play against their former teams. And tulowitzki doesn't count since he's not good.
RE2PECT
I am third and dont know what to say. so third is the word
Ortiz's final all-star game?
It's probably on the next video
Who was that one dislike
Some dickhead from the NFL.
Where's YAZ?
Just imagine what Mike Trout's last game will be
42 dislikes.. (twilight zone music)
Where's A Rod's?
I bet Metallica never even received that long an ovation.
Could we please stop celebrating Ripken's record? It's a testament to his selfishness as a player.

I wish they had a subtitle explaining the significance of each event cuz I don’t know most of these
Listen too the announcers they tell you exactly what's happening in most of them
who thinks the Yankees will retire jeters number
george Scudiero They already did
Who thinks George Scudiero is an idiot?
Me.
just did
The Yankees retire nearly every number. Why wouldn't they retire one of the greatest??
Annoying intro
Derek Jeter, a great baseball player, but a rock bottom bum as a co-owner of the Miami Marlins.
