Cory Blackmon lol i was thinking the same. Pitcher hangs an 86mph bean bag over the heart of the plate for Jeter. I would have done the same for these greats
@MANCHESTER UNITED There's not even 240 countries, idiot There are 195 countries in the world today. And why are you on a video respecting the baseball greats, you loser? Soccer sucks, it's only popular because it's easy to find something to kick around. The sport itself is boring as hell and full of crybabies.
I cried when chipper went to bat this game. I was watching it. When chipper retired that to me was the last of the real Atlanta Braves. And that’s when it dawned on me that my childhood was over
RIP Tony Gwynn. I am not a person in awe of superstar players and autographs are not my thing. But I can say without a doubt one guy I would have loved to meet and talk baseball with was Tony Gwynn. Guy seemed like a class act all the way.
They say if Jeter played in KC, he'd be a nobody. If Helton played in the Bronx he'd be on a fucking postage stamp. I'm a Colorado fan since going to the first ever home game in '93. Helton was an absolute monster player and the fact that he stayed loyal to the Rox is why he is easily forgotten by coastal fans.
Nothing gives me bigger chills when both teams fans are cheering for a single players accomplishments... How dare people think baseball isn't romantic.
Cal Ripken's final field appearance was in the on deck circle with the tying and winning runs on base. Teammate Jeff Conine struck out swinging to end the game and personally admit he'll forever swallow the guilt of not keeping the inning alive to set the stage one final time for Cal.
I watched Chipper Jone's last game on TV with tears in my eyes. Call me a wimp, I don't care, but he was my idol from when I started baseball when I was 6.
Barry’s last hit would’ve been a HR in about 80% of other baseball ballparks. What a shame. After years of defying the dimensions of the Huge Park... it finally got him in the end. Even more ironic when you think that the dimensions of the park helped shape the dominant pitching staff that finally won us the World Series’s that eluded Barry during his career.
I’m a Bay Area sports fan but can’t applaud any player who enhanced their performance by using illegal drugs. I have to wonder just how good Bonds would have been if he were steroid-free his whole career because Bonds the Pirate was the best player in MLB.
Watching this makes me thank Jackie Robinson and the Dodgers all over again. Without them here would be no Jeter, Smith, Bonds or Gwynn in these highlights.
Yes there 100% would be. Just because he was the first doesn’t mean there wouldn’t have been more. Also bonds is cool and all but I hope we all can agree the only reason that wasn’t a home run is because he was off the juice
Legends all! Each one supremely important to their respective franchises. That said, my hearts with Jeter. Walk-off base hit in his final Yankee stadium AB, right through the 3-4 hole as he has so often in his illustrious career... WOWWW!!!
Todd Helton, got Vin to give him his final curtain call. Only fitting for his amazing (underrated) career. "In the shadows now, He's been in the spotlight for so long." I mean seriously, if that didnt give you chills, your not a baseball fan.
Good job on this video compilation except that Jeter's last at bat was in Fenway Park against Boston and not at Yankee Stadium. But, overall this was a very different video and I really like it.
There isn't one person that could convince me the Orioles pitcher didn't give that moment to Jeter by lobbing a meatball down the middle so his last at bat can be a walk off. It ruins the authenticity of something like that being a big moment in the last at bat for a big player, but I can see it as respect the pitcher was showing him.
Mark Hoadley his career stats weren't even that good nobody seems to realize he hit .220 in his career he doesn't deserve to be in here just cuz he helped the Cubs

Helton is the most underrated player on this list. Look up his stats, he is almost in the Top 100 of all time in each category. A humble legend!

The Derek Jeter at bat was magical.
Go Dodgers that wasn't his last at bat his last one was in Fenway

David Ross has the best last at bat. He hit a homer in game 7 of the World Series
It wasn’t his last at bat tho. He still hit one more time in that game
Ozzie Smith's last at-bat was in the 1996 NLCS, not the ASG.
We miss you Tony. RIP.
Todd Helton is my favorite player in MLB history, it was cool to see him here in the end of the video, I wasn't expecting it.
Watching dodger stadium cheer for Todd helton was one of the classiest things I've ever seen in all of baseball.
Even as a Giants fan, I agree
Damn, who else would be balling their eyes out if it was your last at bat ever while receiving a massive send off by the crowd? I would be 😢
Yeah Jeter said it took all he had not to cry and focus on the at-bat.
I would've been choking up and I talking about my bat 😓
It was only right for Jeter's ab to be first "Now batting number 2 Derek Jeter, Number 2" what a legend!

Even more ironic when you think that the dimensions of the park helped shape the dominant pitching staff that finally won us the World Series’s that eluded Barry during his career.
Not to mention they have moved the wall in since then.
It feels like some sort of weird microcosm of Barry Bonds' career. Something you could do an editorial on, I'd say poetic more than ironic.

how lucky we are that we got Vin announcing Helton's last AB just based on the schedule.
Derek Jeter played an entire series against the Red Sox after his walk off single. His final at bat was a popup single in the infield at Fenway.
Yea, that's what I thought. That was his final game at Yankees stadium. I would've just retired after that walk off hit and left it alone
I miss Derek Jeter, he's the reason I became a Yankees fan at 17 in 1999❤⚾.
