Homelander. Worlds strongest 'super hero', gallops to the front of the table hoping to get the big chair. It's so hilarious!
IKR 😭
And the fact Stan is a normal human and has more power than Homelander could ever hope for
He does seem like rasing him like a lab rat left him desperate for approval and validation. TBH, he's the most tragic character in the series.
He wanted the big boy chair.
Homelander is a traumatized child stuck inside superman's body.
the fact Stan invited both of them just to basically promote Starlight in front of Homelander and then kick him out of the room. what a power play
I think Stan is seriously mistaken about Homelander's mental health.
@@ImperativeGames ...no...I think Stan knows exactly how unstable Homelander is. Stan just knows he can manipulate him. He knows how to pull every string.
@@KingNicotine Well apparently not as Stan gets blindsided later in the show.
They are not a real super hero team, so their roles are all pretend
He probably saw how Starlight was intimidated by him too
The fact Homelander lost to Stan in something simple as a race to the big chair is hilarious

@@BrendavonAhsenGood one
Superman has more strenght than fakelander 😂😂😂
It's so funny to me how light-hearted Stan is towards Starlight and cold and calculated towards Homelander
it's because he knows how easy it is to get to starlight, since she had been manipulated her whole childhood
@@un1tii533 its not easy, more like she doesnt know much about him to begin with. Homelander can literally hear his heartbeats, has been in Vought for years and is a total psycho, Stan Edgar wouldn't be able to manipulate him with pet talk. Starlight though, while she has seen very weird things in Vought, never had the chance to actually engage with Edgar. He could easily show her a much more warm and light-hearted side to get her on his side, without her knowing his true nature and motives.
@@un1tii533I think he manipulated Homelander as much as starlight though just using a different method. He knows how big of an ego Homelander has and feeds it or starves it as he sees fit.
you deal with things appropriately, can't use the same tactics for things, situations or people.
Only to get under his skin . More of that Vot manipulation
Homelander starting to jog to get to the head chair (and failing) is hilarious
The kind of thing that'll get you a laugh at the price of making your villain pathetic.
@@jeronimo196 So he _wasn't_ pathetic in season 1 when he was sucking on Madelyn's fingers?
Makes me understand why Stan called him a manchild
Made it to the EVIL like , 😈👍👍😸
@@jeronimo196 Homelander is pathetic, he always has been. Doesn't make him any less intimidating or a great villain. If the milk scene didn't do it for you, I have no idea why this one would.
"When does the Board vote?" Thinking Stan would give him the opportunity to intimidate or "replace" a few Board members before a vote like this, that's cute.
Reminds me of Ozymandias in Watchmen. "...do you really think I would explain my masterstroke if there were the slightest chance you could affect it? I did it thirty-five minutes ago."
I mean Stan thinking he can control a murderous invincible freaking super-sociopath is cute. Look at what happens later in the story...

If someone tells you that they're offering you "real power", they are only offering you the illusion of power. Gotta keep that leash tight!
Stan Edgar might as well be the Devil. He knows just what buttons to push to get others to do what he wants.
Unless that person is offering you unilateral decision making power in a multi billion, multi national corporation with diplomatic and qualified immunity.
@@jeffwilliams2828 ... As long as those decisions and actions don't do anything that he doesn't like.
May the best man win..
On the other hand, more power is more power.
What makes Homelander so terrifying is the fact that only his vanity kept him in check. Brilliantly portrayed
He should be the ARCHNEMESIS like Blofeld and please don’t waste him like they did with Christoph Waltz in the Craig era
I hear people saying they want homelander to die already and they couldn't be more wrong.
Homelander has been held back so far by his need to be loved. When he loses that all hell will break lose. It's obvious what they're setting up
@@Courier_333 Hes broken too far. Yeah hes prob gonna cut loose soon till someone puts him doen cuz theirs no fixing him
This wasn't Homelander losing his job. This was Homelander sharing his job.

There's no difference in his mind
He's either #1, or he's not
You don't know how the world works don't you? I'm guessing you've never worked anywhere on the higher levels and that's your whole perspective on life.
Cute, a Homelander defender.
@@supershinigami1 That's not what was done here, but reality is subjective
The way Stan puts the chairs back in place, I don't know if that was scripted of if that was Giancarlo embracing the role, but it's just perfect. Is resetting a board room the role of a CEO? No, that's probably below even his own assistant. That would be an intern's job. But he sees something that needs doing, and so he simply does it. Orderly, neat perfection.
Also symbolic. He's conveying to Starlight that there's a new order to things, that there's an opening for her to make a real difference. The big chair is waiting for her.
@@danieldickson8591 There has to be a catch. The board is more likely more evil than Homelander. I mean.. don't they still wanna make supes for wars?
I believe he just channeled his inner Gus moment 😂
That was definitely scripted
What? He's moving a chair (Starlights), next to Homelanders to indicate the co-captain idea.
Stan is basically a snake charmer, and Homelander is the cobra.
Its just story nonsense,in the real world homelander would have already killed him when no1 was looking to secure his place
@@Marcustheseer If Homelander did that, it would just prove Stan right, that he's nothing but an undisciplined, petty child. Homeboy can't bear to kill Stan unless and until he gains Edgar's respect, or at least his fear. Stan Edgar is the one man to whom Homelander means nothing.
@@Marcustheseer

@@MarcustheseerIt is the opposite. In the real world it doesn't matter how big, strong and jacked up you are; if you're not smart enough to run your own business, you'll probably work under someone.
Homlander can't just kill everyone he wishes because he is still a little boy seeking approval from the public. Stan had the absolute power to take that away at any moment.
@@Marcustheseerbro talking about how a literal superman would be in the Real world... yikes xD
The contrast between how much Homelander cares about his image and facade here vs. the end of the season is so different.
I like how Starlight is genuinely afraid of Homelander but Stan knows that homelander won't kill him, basically knowing he's invincible to Homelander's wrath after working with him for so long.
Im positive that stan has a superpower somehow, its impossible that homelander didnt even threatened him not even once
@xdmoath It's about gestering. Homelander doesn't just want him dead. He wants win the mental mind games as well. It's not enough to be stronger. He already knows he's the strongest. He is vexed by how a mortal man can speak to him without an ounce of fear in his voice. That's threatening in itself because if the chicken man doesn't fear him then he most likely knows something that HL doesn't. Vault did create HL afterall. They probably have a failsafe for if he misbehaves too much. Even if it's not true I don't think he can risk biting the hand that feeds him.
@@xdmoathStand superpower is his devilish cunning and intelligence. he plays homelander like a fiddle because he knows homelanders a broken child in a warmachines body. he knows how to lead him and his pride around like a dog

@@gimpinmypants strive to be like Edgar and make more powerful people respect and fear you
I love how Homelander seemed almost nice to Starlight when he said he needed the room.
But because he's so screwed up you could rationalise it any number of ways. The simplest being that he knew that he needed to save his energy for Stan, who has consistently been able to dismantle his ego every time they talked alone.
Not really, one of the things I find interesting about Homelander is that he really is a genuinely nice guy... when his ego/sense of control "isn't" being threatened. Then he's more of a dick. Unfortunately, given how sensitive both his feelings, and hearing are, the only real way to not trip his issues is to be in another room.
@@fredfry5100Considering this lunatic has demonstrated he can 100% hear you from several rooms away (Heard the agent try to go to commercial during his "I'm better speech" while he was on stage and they were in the damn tech booth with a shut door) being in a different building is the safer all around bet.

Anyone notice the small detail in how he subtly maneuvered the chairs to show equal position in power and authority???
That is why I loved the chair scene in GoT. Littlefinger seats himself first and closest to reflect his desire for close proximity and relation, Varys takes second humbly and is second closest, pycelle is last cause old and weak, Cersei moves a chair on the other side to pretend she has power and connection and tyrion makes noise, stalls, and sits opposite to reflect his opposition and his own power.

Makes it funnier because Stan isn’t really in charge, but still gets to Homelander
Love how it blows up in his face. We’ve got Stan to thank for this version of Homelander we’ve got now. He’s had his part in it
Stan has been in charge since the soldier boy flashbacks, what are you talking about lol
0:56 I love that pause. It’s like he’s pondering if he should just go all in and make her the only Captain, only to settle on Co-Captain because even he can’t push Homelander that far and live😂
Yeah, UNLESS. Stan has a backup plan, such as taking doses of V himself to hedge himself against Homelander's possible wrath.
I mean playing it close to the cuff is one thing, but what if Homelander got pushed over the edge? lol
The Starlight writing is perfect ... she's too powerful for Hughie to understand her but not powerful enough to break Homelander so she has to juggle her lot while trying to do the right thing; she's the hero of the story and she'll be the one to stop dickhead superheros from ruining the world.
LMAO!
I get the impression from her relationship with Hughie that she thinks of him as being a pet. She wants to be the one saving the day, and Hughie has to jump when she says jump. In a way, Butcher is right about all supes because they don't think of ordinary human beings as being their equals. That's what makes Stan stand out. The dynamic is completely reversed with him.
Anthony Star’s “What?” when Stan says he’s making Starlight co-captain was so honestly astonished it made me grin, even feeling down at 7 in the morning.
