The best part here is that Homelander can check Stan's blood pressure and heart rate... This makes his disconcerting look even better since we know he knows that Stan doesn't fear him at all.
It is not just just a facade... Stan really owns the conversation from start to finish.
Pulse and heart frequency (heart rate is the correct medical term) are literally the same thing dude :D
You can't check one without checking the other.
@@kukenballe7063probably meant to say blood pressure, that would make more sense.
Yeah, great. Homelander is an unstable psychopath who, at any time, might impulsively choose to act against his own long-term interests. Stan is a fucking idiot for behaving in this fashion.
Stan doesn’t care about being killed. It would like Mike Tyson’s trainer not telling Mike Tyson something real because he’s afraid to get beat up. What point is there to beat up someone you know you can. It’s better to listen when they are telling you something.
@@Mike-ky6jc yeah... Sorry, it was blood pressure I meant hehe... English is not my first language and sometimes I can't remember a given translation to a concept. Just like I used "frequency" instead of "rate".
The most savage moment in the show. Gus Fring always knows how to handle business
It’s more that he is and already has been the business. And homelanders just finding that out in this scene.
I feel bad for this actor that he'll never be called another name but this char.
@@AlexisTheDragon the Gussy is just too strong
calling a character by his name from a different show is tight!
@@Alec0124 TIGHT! TIGHT! TIGHT!
I love how this is presumably the first time that Stan has ever directly roasted Homelander and after this moment he is never polite to him again. 😂
Well I think Stan Edgar maybe knew it was time to bend the ego of homelander since he actually make his work’s life going a extremely downhill and then just go to him trying to treat him in his office.
Stan’s the kinda guy who’ll put up the facade of being polite for as long as it’ll benefit him and the other party.
Once homelander started getting uppity and acting like the executive decisions should be coming from him, there was no longer a benefit in playing nice with what in his eyes must surely be an overgrown baby.
@@billqiu4692 basically “let put discipline in the spoil brat” decision
Stan Edgar: You are not our biggest asset
Homelander: Then what is?
Stan Edgar: Los Pollos recipe
Homelander: „I'm in charge"
Stan: „Do you. feel in charge?"
Yeah, he talks like a robot, bad actor.
I love how stan talks. No vulgar language, not a profanity in his entire speech, but he is clear cut and BRUTAL.
he said "bullshit" at 2:08
@@juliankneaz6893 True. Though the overall tone of such is still held, since it’s not out of frustration or such.
@@thegloriousryan8981More to the point, why WOULD he raise his tone when he is in complete control of the situation.
Stan: One of the only men who can stand up to homelander without flinching. You know who else that can do that? Butcher
Stan keeps his cool, butcher feels rage, it's not the same
@@bumblebee7547 Either way, their the only non-supes that can stand up to homelander.
@@bumblebee7547 They both intimidate Homelander in different ways Stan knows how to hit Homelander's psychological pressure points, and Homelander is too emotionally damaged to cope with the insults from his father figure. Butcher, on the other hand, was willing to blow himself up at the end of season 1 just to hurt Homelander's feelings. Butcher's packing hatred on a level that even Homelander can't match; there's no universe where Homelander would put himself in harm's way to destroy his enemies, whereas Butcher indirectly states in season 3 that he's willing to put humankind's existence on the line by going public with the airplane footage. He's down to wipe out our entire species for the personal gratification of tipping Homelander over the edge into fullblown insanity. I don't blame Homelander for being afraid of Butcher. Butcher is fucked up. 😂 And now he's proven willing to juice himself up on V so he can physically hurt Homelander as much as mentally hurt him.
soldier boy is also not scared
@@guido7095 Of course not that's his daddy
Stan didn't even flinch. It just shows you, who really has power. When it comes to threats.
It's no surprise why he looked at Starlight as co-captain of the Seven. He saw something in her that Homelander never had to begin with.
3:29 how perfectly he captured being a child in essence lying to his father
Giancarlo Esposito and Anthony Starr on the screen at the same time, wow. The raw talent these 2 unleashed in this scene was mesmerizing. Hopefully Esposito will return in S4.
I love Stan Edgar's implacable expression at 1:36 and Homelander's discomfort at 1:40 😂
if expressions were intellectual property, Giancarlo Esposito would own the copyright to that dead expression. The stillness that is so scary. He's so amazing.
This cast is the lifeblood of the show.
The look is that of someone ready to fight and he then takes off his glasses like he's about to smack Homelander and proceeds to do so...verbally that is. But Homelander is truly beaten by the end of this talk.
That was not discomfort, Homelander actually thought he had the situation under control, that was the look of smugness
I love this man so much. I was so stoked that he played my favorite comic villain, Baxter Stockman. Shame he didn't do that much in the flick but even still, hope that he comes back in the sequel.
Homelander storms in there like the boss, and sulks out like an employee.
0:34 I love how this frame shows that Homelander can't see the bigger picture, unlike the cameraman and Stan
the way he said "I believe u have a premier of tecknight lives to go to" so disrespectful
I absolutely love Giancarlo Esposito, the way he talks. The way every word feels like a razor blade, with clear and precise enunciation.
Giancarlo just kills every role he does. Love this dude
When lawful evil dominates chaotic evil
Gus stared down the Devil and did not flinch for a second. Now that's power.
Gusstan IS the devil
@@g_aware_nerd i'll accept that
Devil? What devil? Stan is putting a man child throwing a tantrum in his place 😂
Its interesting, people like to say Stan always checks Homelander. In actuality I think Stan knows Homelander is an equal or greater enemy to him on the world stage and at Vought, so he attacks Homelanders insecurities and Daddy issues and strategic mistakes to keep him in line. Since thats…basically the only thing Stan can do at all, since Homelander can take the company with his bare hands
I feel Stan could have Vaught shit out 1000 Homelanders if he was so inclined. It's just this one Homelander is already enough of a liability.
Oh Stan knows he's outclassed physically, but if you're going to run a company as big and influential as Vought, having HL's powers won't help you. Stan checks him in the mental department, hard.
Can't wait for S4. Looks like it just wrapped filming too! Can't wait.
Same bruh I've re-watched season 3 like 4 times 🤦♂️
They are holding out because of the writers strike. Solidarity
A few weeks away.....
I find it funny that the thumbnail calls Homelander the “Perfect American“, when his actor is actually from New Zealand.
We are a nation of immigrants (and some people we basically committed genocide in), so that’s not a problem.
The actor may not be American but the character "Homelander" is
@@Justanotherconsumer Americans never genocided anybody. Don't even say ''nAtIvE aMeRiCanS'', over 95% of them were wiped out by plague, not to mention that American Indians weren't actually native to America either. They crossed over from Asia and butchered the Berbers. It's a good thing almost all of them are gone. They were not civil people.
01:08 "Turn around and say Homelander in perfect American"
Pj never disappoints
Yes! McLovin' Homelander. 💕
I just realized Stan was watching his daughter at the beginning of this
We need Soldier Boy and Stan Edgar back for season 4!
Agreed
Missed opportunity for homelander to not mention "his other business" that would've definitely scared Gus for sure _🙄_
Never mess with Stan.. you ought to be Butcher 😂 to do that or else Saul Goodman
2:38 best part
Ah Gus will always be Gus
When the Gussy is sussy😳
My prediction for the broader arc of the next season(s): The Boys form a temporary alliance with Stan Edgar to bring Homelander down, pushing Homelander into full-blown psychosis that sees him finally shed all the bullshit heroic veneers and attempt to overthrow the government. When Homelander is finally defeated, it is revealed (either through an investigation by the Boys or through direct admission by the character himself) that Stan Edgar is actually Frederick Vought - granted shapeshifting powers akin to Doppelganger's after having injected himself with Compound V during the Payback days. This would, unsurprisingly, coincide with Edgar's rise to the top of the corporate hierarchy in the 1980s, which was referenced in the season 3 flashbacks.
Stormfront might've even hinted at this in season 2 with that line "Frederick had a solution for everything." While that could just be a twisted Final Solution reference, I think it goes deeper. I think Frederick's shadow is still looming over Vought Incorporated in a very literal sense. He was willing to give his wife V, why wouldn't he be willing to inject himself as well? It would also explain his complete disregard for Homelander. He was a high-ranking Nazi involved with Mengele-type human experimentation during the Holocaust. He is a ruthless, Machiavellian, and unfeeling sociopath to whom the ends will always justify the means. To him, Homelander is just a faulty experiment. Edgar even says as much by calling Homelander "bad product". With Stormfront incapacitated, Homelander can't be controlled any longer, so it's best to annihilate him and start fresh.
Also, mark my words, it's gonna be revealed that Stormfront was Homelander's biological mother. It perfectly fits Homelander's disgusting Oedipus complex, and Soldier Boy even talks about his fling with Stormfront (as Liberty) in the 1950s. No surprise Stormfront would suggest to Vought the idea of combining Soldier Boy's DNA with hers as part of their effort to create a new "ubermensch" lab-rat that would grow up to be Homelander.
If memory serves I believe Soldier boy already said that homelander was bred artificially "I beat my meat into a cup" so I dont see how the fling with Liberty has anything to do with it. But the rest is honestly pretty believable
@@cubalibre-5238 Well yeah, I was thinking it would be a fertilization in vitro type deal. The time frame also lines up perfectly. "Liberty" disappeared in the late 1970s after she murdered the black man shown in the season 2 flashback. Homelander was born shortly thereafter. I'm thinking Vought had her impregnated with Soldier Boy's sample while she was off the grid.
@@cubalibre-5238 Stormfront still can be his mother, she couldve served as the egg donor and they still grew him in a artificial womb
It sounds like you've put a lot of thought into your prediction for the next season(s) of "The Boys"! While I can't confirm or deny any specific details about upcoming plot developments in the show, I can say that your ideas are certainly creative and intriguing. "The Boys" has been known for its unexpected twists and turns, so your predictions could align with the show's style.
The show's creators have been known to take inspiration from the source material while also making significant changes to keep the story fresh for viewers who might already be familiar with the comic series. Given the complex and morally ambiguous nature of the characters and their relationships, your ideas about alliances, revelations, and character backgrounds could fit well within the existing narrative framework.
Remember that part of the fun of watching shows like "The Boys" is experiencing the unexpected. Even if your predictions don't come true exactly as you've outlined, the show's writers might take elements of your ideas and incorporate them into their storytelling.
Ultimately, whether your predictions turn out to be accurate or not, I hope you continue to enjoy watching the show and the surprises it has in store!
I fucking love Espositos acting. Easily within my top 10, probably even top 5 favorite actors!
Real power is domnstrated here, brilliant scene.
Why is this bleeped out??? It really ruins the atmosphere
Censorship
I know it’s an empty threat but where exactly would Homelander go if he “moved on”? Vought seems to have a monopoly on the superhero business, can’t be many others that could take in Homelander. What was he gonna do if Stan just said “Welp can’t stop you, there’s the door.”
I wouldn't be surprised if Stan Edgar has powers but keeps it low key. Would explain how he never flinch or why his heart rate never rises. Remember Stan been a CEO for a while during Solider boy era. Which means this man has contingencies for everything. Raising Supes in a lab you study them, and you get to know everything about them what strength and weakness they have. It only makes sense.
I don't think it's that deep. He's simply not scared of a narcissistic man-child. It would ruin his character if he had powers.
@@supapiece3439 I would rather say, it is not that numb. The world building of the boys is thankfully much more sophisticated than a top trumps game for kids, where everything is only about who has what power....
Stan Edgar said it clearly - the biggest asset - and the biggest POWER in the world of "the boys! is not any (replaceable) hero - it is the chemical that can create superheroes. Even a Homelander can be taken down by a soldier boy and two random guys taking compund V.
THAT is an important part of the narration, and the reason why the world keeps being interesting without any kryptonite.
He knows if Homelander does anything to him he’ll be knee deep in shit as proven in S3 when he took “administrative leave of absence” and then Homelander realized it sucked doing his job and how everything fell apart really fast
" In perfect American" gets me everytime
More clips please!
Stan Edgar should get a Green Lantern power ring for standing up to Homelander like that.
And Butcher should get a Red Lantern ring so he can puke gouts of boiling blood.
Stan Edgar wears some thick plot armor.
GUS FRING AT IT AGAIN!
Homelander, where's your daddy? 🔥 i need some Soldier Boy
Damn... i love this series.......
Dudes got to have some superpower.
He does it’s called Being a Badass & not giving AF
Imagine, Stan wasn’t afraid of Homelander because he’s literally stronger 😂
Why do I get the impression that Stan Edgar is possibly one of Frederick Vaults early test subjects and took the company from him. The way he talks about him as a matter of fact and with some disdain when he was compared to Disney and Eddison.
man it really suck that you had beep the bad words out thank youtube
When we can watch season 4 ;-;?
It's real weird thinking about a Tek Knight movie after seeing Gen V... 4:17
Wish this was on Netflix.
What compound Edgar took to have those balls?
This was such an empty threat on Homelander's part. Where would he have moved on TO? He probably has a significant savings, probably more money than most of us could spend in our lifetimes. But he's used to a lifestyle that's so expensive, most of us can't even conceive of it. And it's not like any other company would pick him up because there AREN'T any other companies that use supes.
Homelander running around says he’s Vought and he knows absolutely nothing about the founder. What a joke
Man I love the boys but I need the other prime video 18 superhero show…

I love him saying american instead of English
“What do u know about Fredrick vought”? He’s stormfronts husband and made dr. mangele look like a pediatrician in comparison
That's not fair to pediatricians because they are supposed to be professionals with ethics which a Nazi like Mangele never was, even if he pretended to act and dress like one.

But why not just have 1 large big screen tv? confusing.

he literally is, he can do and take anything
why would you need money when you control someone who can take over the whole world easily
The thing is he was created using v, they can probably create another him or a stronger him … that is why he is less important than V. Plus vought don’t really wang to become the world leader they just want everything to stay the same but with a little more power
nah I remember someone saying they can never replicate the process again because he was the first actual supe birth they saturated in v and it was a miracle it occurred@@anathos0369

The Stan actor always talks like a robot who guides you through the menu of a helpdesk. Pretty annoying one face actor to me.
Just realized Stan Edgar lied to Homelander and Homelander didnt even notice. He said "Heroes like soldier boy killing germans by the dozens" in WW2. Stan knew soldier boy personally, he knew soldier boy was no hero. But he lied to Homelander here and Homelander didnt even notice, hes that good of a liar that he can lie while keeping his vitals steady.
Lol, if Stan talks about "Heroes", he definitely talks about media figures - no heroism. Because from that perspective, there are no Heroes in the world of "the boys". Not a single one. Probably that is the strongest side of the satire - the nonsense concept of heroism for a narration.

Yeah, he can poke the tiger once or twice or maybe even three times, but eventually the beast is just gonna rip his arm off, because that's what a tiger does. Honestly, he was lucky Homerlander showed enough restraint to defenstrate him figuratively, rather than just throwing him out a window.
