Stan shows a lot more emotion that Gus imo. Like 90% of the emotions we see Gus Fring display are faked, carefully chosen to manipulate the situation he's in. Meanwhile, Stan shows more genuine signs of anger, surprise, and humor. So I guess he's slightly less psychopathic than Fring.
I just love his ability to perfectly portray the weak human character with so much more power than everyone combined

i think that unlike the other supes he actually respects her a bit for not being a complete trainwreck and liability to his company. having an actual superhero doing what they are suposed to and kkeeping the others in line would do wonders for the companys image

Butcher has earned that from homelander, stan and soldier boy.
Stan is a businessman after all. You can’t get what you want out of constantly insulting a person. You have to dangle bait every once in a while. Stan knew if he treated Butcher with respect the less he’d need to *personally* deal with him in the future.

Stan's slight glimpse of vulnebarility as you said here , perfectly mirrored in better call saul when Gus aka Giancarlo , confessed to mike about the reasons why gus wants Hector to stay alive. Great nod from the boys to Giancarlo's earlier work
You can see the slight smile on his face when he responds to Butcher at 5:44. Stan definitely respects the latter, if only because he knows Butcher understands his way of thinking.

I think my favourite thing about Stan is that even when he takes an L, gets something wrong, or shows emotion, he never once comes off as weak

He lives to the end in the comics, so I doubt he would be taken off the show this early, but his involvement is minimal in the show with what direction they're going, so I doubt he'll remain primary with what they're doing.

The fact we consider Giancarlo Esposito as a normal human with the ability to say any line without even so much as a smirk, a giggle, or ever breaking character for even a second is beyond me. The man excels in all the roles he gets into.
He just plays the same role despite the character. It's just that the character is that gripping.

I think in this guys case, the typecasting works for him, every character he portrays is one of class, power and carries themselves with respect and dignity even if they’re villains
they’re some of the best characters in these shows and Giancarlo plays them so well.
He was on a kids show,I forgot which one and he played different type of characters in some spike Lee movies,he does have range but ppl don't see it,your right he does get typecast tho
Notice how he never swears, never even really raises his voice. Esposito's presence is always in every role, he is intimidating in the most underrated way and I love it!

I just love Stan Edgar and Giancarlo Esposito in general, his ability to stay calm and cold all the time even in front of the most powerful man in the world shows that Giancarlo is an incredible actor and deserves so much more recognition than what he actually has right now.

I really like how despite the fact that Stan is legitimately evil and villainous, he’s not bigoted, reckless, constantly on the verge of yelling, or anything like that. He’s level-headed and genuinely intelligent, and he’s got a fantastic voice to boot.
Is he evil though? I mean he is the perfect capitalist, including all the flaws, but evil? Ruthless and efficient yes, but not evil.

It was the fact he said “I don’t care if he can hear us”. That was the boss move there when you send someone out the office knowing full well they can still hear the conversation.
The thing is, Homelander is 100% a product of Stan’s doing. He pioneered the program that created Homelander, and was in charge of his upbringing that made him into the tyrant he is. I think it goes without saying that Homelander is the worst of Stan.
That’s why he wanted Ryan to be raised by his mom, he saw how Homelander turned out.
Giancarlo Esposito chains together lines of dialogue like a DMC5 player going for an SSS rank and I am here for it.

I like how Stan admitted to Butcher that stormfront did in fact bother him, you can tell there’s a subtle line of respect Stan has for him because he never would’ve admitted something like that to any of the seven due to how much he despises them and feels as though they’re beneath him
Giancarlo Esposito doesnt have to try to be a badass, he just carries this aura around him. im sure hes a sweetheart irl, but on screen, he's such a badass

Stan Edgar is like the chessmaster who never loses, he's cold, logical and above all he doesn't let his emotions get the better of him.
I love Stan's reaction at 3:25. The quiet contemplation then that almost sarcastic "that's hurtful" from Stan was brilliant.

Seriously, Stan is best character on the live action version of this comic. I like that he isn’t overused but when he shows up his dialogue and delivery is flawless.
Despite being a "bully" himself, Stan is the perfect example of what happens when you stand up to a bully, you take away so much of their power.

The best part is that Homelander can tell when others are scared or intimidated, Homelander knows Stan isn't even afraid of him.
The way they've made tons of changes to the boys for this series I wouldn't be surprised if they gave stan some kind of over powered ability and I am all for it

The whole thing about this character is that he doesn't have powers in a traditional sense but has the power to bend other people to his will
