Every time I've tried Haywire Blasters I have the same result. "Hey, these deal mortal wounds to your Repulsor on a 4+" *proceeds to roll 1s and 2s... every time*
i took 3 lascannon predators in my blood angels list with the kill shot 1cp stratagem (which i used twice b4 the predators had to spread out to help hold points) vs death guard with their 5++ invuln and 5+++ FNP they lived till the enemy going last in round 5 caught up to them and killed them...... in 5 rounds of combat (60 lascannon shots) they did 8 damage.....
Same for me with brightlances, if they had Just 1! more strength I would use them. Oh whats that, drucharii have better ones or use a plane instead mhhmm.

Dave... I just wanna say been a huge fan for a long long time. You sparked my interest in chaos as a teen and being 26 now I'm so glad I made that choice. In saying that.... when you said "end of my turn" with all those juicy havocs not getting to unleash hell fire into his primaris or biker boys I verbally said "oh no" in an empty house. Vito, regarding your concern for people nitpicking. You've raised an interesting corner case by naming your captain an Augmented human rather than a space marine. This was known to be done in the Great Crusade (Luther, Eidolon), and it is an oversight of the part of GW that the practice has been ignored since then. While it is worth noting that the Emperor's vision was never to have armies of humans augmented in that fashion, it was also never his final vision to have armies of space marines as the primary defenders of humanity - the reduction of the power of the War Council towards the end of the Great crusade citing humans ruling humans, rather than transhumans ruling humans, is a perfect example.
If that doesn't shut the haters up, you may also wish to remind them that quite a few bio-scientifically inclined hobbyists have weighed in on the matter and judged the point to be moot, as the sheer volume of modification that space marine bodies endure would result in very minimal differences between the physique of a male space marine and a female space marine.

this is what i have always thought since i first read the lore between 2nd and 3rd edition, i would assume that its irrelevant since space marines only exist to fight, gender roles are not needed, anything additional dangling off the marines body either between the legs or on the chest i expect would be removed, also the insides are re-organised too, i doubt you could call the result a man or a woman
Vito I am always excited to see you play white scars. Your new models look really nice. Love how you did the white. I would recommend maybe adding something to your biker sergeants. Even a cheap power axe would add a good amount of utility. Or you could get a combi-melta, power fist or thunderhammer for some anti-tank punch.
Love vito’s models!! The first time I saw them on the Facebook group I was blown away (mostly because painting white is the hardest colour to paint) but they just look sooooo amazing

Jokes aside, for that reason I’m very glad I decided to play Black Legion when I started out, though I found a really neat pearl white at the craft store today that made me kinda wish I hadn’t.

So, it would be much worse if we realized that the Repulsor does D6 wounds to all units when it explodes, not D3.
Yeah, we just got really excited about the explosion and it slipped. Our bad! Would have made it an even harder up hill battle!

the biker character would have lost a lot more wounds and one of the squads lost 2 models instead of 1 but apart from that i dont think the error made that huge of a difference ?

My Land Raider is still very much feared in my local gaming group. True it’s not a one model powerhouse as it was before 8th edition dropped but like everything in the newest versions of the game all it really needs a proper support element, IE building your list around countering the weaknesses of the unit then just plopping it down in the list and expecting it to survive past turn two.
@@griffin5653 Dude, you're paying a vast amount of points for not that much shooting, at a model that's honestly not that hard to kill. It's just not efficient. If you build your list around it, you're going to lose the game the moment you run up against a halfway decent list.
after watching those rolls i feel bad doing this but Repulsors explode for D6 mortal wounds not D3.

Oblits guns are assault, that extra d6 movement will come in incredibly handy despite the -1 to hit penalty

I’m new to watching battle reports and thus by far my favourite. It’s a good contest but it’s more the players. Some people I see doing this I find unfortunately a bit cringe or irritating but I found these two genuinely funny at times. Good chemistry and very natural on screen presence. Thanks!

What all did you use for the conversion Vito? It looks mainly storm cast, but what about the weapon and the Keshig leg armory bits? It looks amazing mate!

Vito, interesor bolt rifles are -1 ap. That was a dead rhino.
1. Disembark is Wholy within 3" of the transport, not just toe in 3".
2. Dave my man, Flesh metal wins, strat 2 Cp reroll all oblit gun dice. Mark of slaanesh, you then use the strat letting those oblits fire again, dead repulsor.
3. Gota watch that new squad coherency, over 6 models must be within 2" of 2 models now. Even in combat

while i love the conversion, i hope it never makes it to lore. not because its female, but because the Sisters of Battle are the Female Space Marines. so if Females not only become Astartes, but Become Primaris, it would mean my Sisters of Battle would either go to Legends, or get Primaris models, and im having enough problems keeping up with primaris releases as is. this comment is all in good fun i hope you know and i actually love the model. Dave, I am just trying to help. Do you have access to the Vigilus Ablaze book? The Black Legion section has some pretty cool relics, and I enjoy them more then The Eye of Night. Also fyi the Warlord trait you described in the intro is First Among Traitors which is the aura of Death to the False Emperor on 5+. Eternal Vendetta is reroll failed wounds in the fight phase against Adeptus Astartes, which is a good warlord trait. But I think you meant First Among Traitors.

Nice game guys. I'd probably be a bit more cagey with the Havocs, maybe sent 2 empty rhinos to tie in melee. And hide some havocs (maybe put 1 into reserve)
I think I'd target those characters as soon as possible. WS characters are very scary
That repulsor is good but it has only 2 las. Also it becomes less deadly in tactical as most guns lose ap.

After 15 minutes of watching it feels like i'm watching 2 best friends play 40k on their kitchen table having the best time in the world. I love Vito's Bladeguard ancient. The model looks great and I like Vitos fluff behind it.

yeah would be cool to see more different types of guard i think a series of upgrade sprues with alternative torso's and heads would do the trick but i doubt GW will do that, you may want to be careful what you wish for because the nice multi part kit that you have now might end up replaced by something less customisable

@@jrg7777 it might be better that they didnt, otherwise you might end up stiffed with a monopose easy build kit that is only in production for a limited amount of time. At least the current kit you can replace the heads arms torso's and legs with whatever you can resource yourself

Question: Does transhuman physiology counter veterans of the long war on anything wounding on 2's and 3's? Seems like it would have been good to use on the intercessors or bikes at times.
VOTLW adds 1 to the wound roll, Transhuman says any unmodified 1, 2, or 3 fails - Transhuman wins

Interesting tidbit for future games... a unit may only hold a single objective now. If it's contesting two, like the Chaos Rhino at the start of turn 2, you have to declare which one it's holding … they can never hold more than one at a time. Not quite an issue since it could be dclared, giving you two models (rhinos) on that point vs one biker, but it may be a thing in the future. Onwards!

In case this wasn't brought up already - born in the saddle allows you to advance and fire rapid fire/heavy AS assault...so rapid fire 1 becomes assault 1, heavy 2 becomes assault 2, etc. So those two plasma guns on the bikes would only have 2 shots :)
Many names in Warhammer are from Greek culture. Generally speaking, 40k is made by the British, which are basically Romanized Celts and Anglo-Saxons. Since Roman culture has borrowed many things from the Greeks, many things in British culture have been influenced by the Greeks. For example much of the English vocabulary is Greek. If you like some additional 40k examples, Nemesis was the goddess who enacts retribution against those who succumb to hubris and the double headed eagle of the Imperium of Man was the symbol of the Byzantine Empire.
Every time I Vito with the Repulsor, I can't help but think how much harder the impulsor with shield dome would be to shift. Especially with a smaller strike force inside
Vito has the same issue with Las Cannons as I do with Haywire Blasters.

I'm only half way through. Poor Vito, the dice gods must really be mad at you. You should do what I do and build a shrine to the dice gods and sacrifice some 1's and 6's to them before every match.
I still loose 9/10 times but I can feel absolved of guilt knowing it was bad dice rolls and not my poor grasp of the game. Thanks dice gods. 👍
Holy crap Havocs are redonculous!
With the Devastation Battery we can deploy obliterators/havocs on turn 1 with confidence. The 1CP stratagem lets you shoot at the end of your opponents movement phase.

how did the havocs disembark that far away? its now wholly within 3inches of the transport in 9th. or did you use the strat to disembark wholly within 6?

Probably disembarked then moved and just did it in one go.
You can still make a full move after disembarking. So, probably did that off camera.

With Obliterators you can choose the target after you roll for the guns so you could have changed target with reduced strength. Btw when a replusor blows up its D6 mortals not D3 ;)

new meme "I HATE LASCANNONS"
so i literally just played this mission last night as well and i feel like there's a big typo on the mission specific secondary for this mission, that is Center Ground (Progressive) and also the (Action). On their own, they don't see to make much sense. In the (Progressive) objective, it says "each time a unit from your army successfully completes the following action [...], it then goes on to end that objective with a colon(:) and rolls right on into the (Action). Also, the (Action) doesn't list any point values which makes me think that both of these are actually just 1 giant secondary. Essentially, we interpreted it plays as a "capture and defend". That is, spend one turn activating/capture it, then endure your opponents onslaught to defend it. In your next command phase, if you're still on it, you score the points listed in the progressive. That was really the only way we could make sense of it. This is how we played it and we really didn't have issues. So I'm really confused the way the book words all of this by saying you have to choose on or the other...

The havoc that went down in melee at the very end of Chaos turn 3 should have gotten its turn to swing before the biker sergeant got to attack.

Saw the Bladeguard Ancient on Facebook, didn't realize it was you that posted her. Looks like a really cool model to me, inspired a conversion in my head for a Chaos Lord in my Word Bearers who was a cultist who won the favour of the Chaos Gods and was given the power of a Greater Daemon. Haven't decided which God gave her the power yet but I'm there's going to be a lot of Greenstuff work regardless to add some mean looking mutations.
Overall. don't be worrying about what other people have to say, it's your model and if you're having fun with it then it's great.

It’s a fun battle report and all but there was a new stipulation on transports to where you need to have 1 troops choice to field 1 transport.

at 44:00 the repulsor does d6 damage, not d3, when it explodes. So the white scars should have taken more damage.
