      @@imapleb4956that is not true. Serena and Venus combined to play an exhibition match against Karsten Braasch in an exhibition match at the 1998 Australian Open. At the time Bassch was ranked 203rd on the APT Tour. It has to do with having babies and the shape of the spines of men and women. Men have a straighter spine and can plant their feet more strongly than women. The reason for that is because women have an S shaped spine for bearing children, and they can't plant their feet with the same strength as men because their spines are more curvy and pliant for having babies.

      They called him out because he is known to be outspoken and have some pretty wild verbal altercations on the tennis court. He says what he thinks without a filter, usually. So he was targeted, hoping for some "drama". While it is very possible for a female tennis player to beat a male tennis player, the reality is that most men will beat most women, on average, simply because they are physically stronger and taller in most every case, thereby they will serve harder and faster and have a longer reach with longer arms and legs to cover more of the court to make returns. This is simple genetic facts that have nothing to do with the player's overall skill or style, and definitely have nothing to do with any politically correct "gender" issues or agendas.
      All that being said, Serena IS a phenomenal athlete and tennis player, a wonderful person, and for me she has all my respect for her in every regard.
      This was just gaslighting by the woke tv reporters, trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

    • @russellboone6759
      @russellboone6759 Před 20 dny

      @@claytonwhitman1608very true, and that only scratches the surface. Mens tendons and ligaments are stronger on average. Usually more aggressive due to natural differences in testosterone. Typically more fast twitch muscle fiber (increased explosiveness, etc). Mens bodies are naturally designed to be more physical than women (on average).
      When women start to argue that they should be allowed to take hormones to compete with men, they are entering the domain of performance enhancing drugs (in sports). Should men be allowed to take these same substances/hormones in excess, any distance that is closed due to females using hormones would be negated. The whole idea of ped use is that people cant/shouldnt be able to overcome natural advantages of opponents through unnatural, artificial means. Some people have the advantage of being taller, longer. Some (depending on the sport) have advanges where being smaller, with a more compact and explosive body types is a greater advantage. Some are faster. Some are naturally stronger. This is the whole idea of competitive sports. Who naturally has the greatest ability, with the addition of the mind overcoming shortcomings (strengthening weaknesses, and utilizing natural advantages). Trans athletes should have their own category, period.

That doesn't mean it isn't equally impressive for a woman to achieve greatness, it means that to try to compare them to men who have a genetic advantage there is a disservice to the women. Many female athletes understand this, and Serena confidently saying that on national TV is a display of true humility from her. She isn't downplaying her own (very great) achievements and talents, but still maintains awareness of her limits. Yeah, especially since this interview took place 20 years after Serena and Venus were bragging they could beat any dude outside the top 200 players. Then lost, back to back, to the rank 203 male. Serena learned her lesson, the reporter didn't even attend the class and then tried to pass the test

      I’m pretty sure she wasn’t even being serious when she asked that question, especially by the way she smiled and kind of chuckled. It was more of a tongue-in-cheek question to see how he would respond. Or maybe her boss or whoever is in her earpiece told her to ask that question.
