Speed test on these 3 rcs
ECX Amp my with 15t brushed motor, 18 t pinion, 8.4 v nimh battery hit 23.2 mph.
Redcat tornado sc30 nitro stock hit 29.3 mph
Team energy tx8 stock hit 40 mph

Your Redcat isnt tunes properly.
My Tornado S30 hits 43MPH with no problem a little after the second shift. It can hit even higher if I had a longer road in my neighbourhood.

Nice I thought the team energy would be faster my losi runs on 4s and it does like 60 and it’s pretty much stock super nice run though

Did the ecx amp get super hot from the esc and motor since you have an 8.4v battery in there?
