Nice, Bringing Aris in on the first T8 one is great.
Good to see you all together.
Liked and subbed.
Hey alright.
hey keep it down will ya?
@@donny303you are virginal
The classic combos in Rickstah's background are so sick
Lol my eyes were peeled to that in the parts of the video I was watching.
ikr
Same here. I recognize a lot of those. Brings me back.
These were the days man…..Good times.
When the Law Tekken 4 combo vid came on I was hella distracted
Its crazy how differently Aris seems to look at these games than like the general (mostly casual/intermediate) player base. He like really knows the mechanics of the game and the history of the game but also understands what makes competitive games actually competitive and interesting.
unbiased view, which majority of people don't even understand the concept of.
I would say aris is the definition of biased especially in terms of tekken@@BloodFireDeath_
@@666slateran666Can you give an example?

@666slateran666 I mean like a specific thing hes said thats out of touch. When he says something thats meant just in a competitive setting he usually prefaces it or implies it. Im not a tournamnet player but im pretty decent and when he says scrubs are complaining about something thats not a real issue hes usually on point and I agree.

It's crazy how often Aris has had a smart outlook on each topic.
He's been playing for a trillion years you'd hope he would lol
People don't really see it but Aris is very intelligent on topics he cares about, he just acts like he's dumb and has dumb moments (like everyone does) but you can very quickly understand he's a very smart guy when you listen to him.
maybe you should @ him this really kind remark on his chat when you have the time. I'm sure he'll really appreciate it

Happy to see aris return to the show! Also the throw system changes, added lag on whiff, and environmental damage are all from Aris's favorite series DOA. The DOA director worked on Tekken 8 :-)
Throw changes from DOA? Brother throws can't be teched in DOA they are generally what you punish with. Not sure what part of the throw system you are referring to. Also throwing armor isn't granted extra damage in Tekken where in DOA they get significant damage increases if you throw a hold.
@@Chowdizzle Well, if you use throws as punishes in Tekken 8 the throws turn either untechable or much harder to tech, so there's that. Throws are definitely buffed in this game.
this guy cant stop mentioning other games when he talks about tekken! ok we got it dude
@@ChowdizzleI sense the tism within you
buffs from the cooch and teats guy? lol

So happy to see Aris, I hope he will returns to commentating the game at tournaments
unfortunately he does not dick ride bamco enough for that
me too, but since he is focused on variety stuffs during covid, he is getting bigger on Twitch and getting more donations that working as commentator is kinda not worth it financially
@@bobbywrtm He has said that he's open to it if they invite him. He just doesn't want to hop on a plane.
He's not the type who's gonna go around begging to be on commentary but if some TO really wants him to commentate he's not completely against it. At least that's the vibe I'm getting. Maybe I'm way off.
keep hoping lul, maybe if they organized one at his house :D

Seeing fixed cam Aris means it's a special episode.
The video they're talking about from 9:27 is "Tekken 8's Input Buffer is NOT Broken" by Gelatin.
I have to admit, i appreciate those replay channels. Any time, anywhere, i can watch a top player play my character and learn stuff. I dont have to boot up the game and search replays in tekken fighter network or whatever.
This was so fun! I enjoyed each and every second :D
Big nostalgia seeing all four of these guys together on a pod
Yoo throwback squad! So happy tekken is thriving
I'm only here because I saw a green dwarf on thumbnail, thanks for inviting him :)
I miss those long form character guides this squad used to put out. Are yall planning on putting something out like that this go-around?
We were going to do Azucena soon but last night they said that new patch info is coming next week. So lets wait and see for a few more days
Relieved to hear you say Rage Arts are too strong. Being forced to not press buttons at the end of the round in this game feels so silly.
Awesome watch, thanks guys!
aris on a podcast again is crazy
When the topic of Azucena came up I was hoping for a discussion on the T8 newcomers. But I suppose like the balancing and other new system changes it's still fairly soon to tell.
But other than that, great Boomcast as always! And having Aris is always fun!
I had my steam friends list hidden on T8 UNTIL I changed my steam friends list privacy settings. Then my steam friends showed up on T8
Oh so that's how you turn it on!!
You da real MVP. 🙏🏻
Lord Aris returning to the podcast is tight. 🧔🏻♀️
Hell yeah love that Aris is back I hope he becomes a regular for commentating in the future.
Surprisingly with ADHD listened to the whole thing. Y'all are great for putting this out
Thanks for the content
I think that different chars have different (sort of) OP things have made the game so that chars feel unique and you are looking out for something special in each char. I like that feeling. Even things like 12's are different for chars and new animations for df2's etc. Chars feel different and in T7 it was the same for everyone 12 df1 and m4 etc. They are pushing chars as different systems with different strengths and made a great job.
Regarding the recovery frames Aris was talking about, that video also showed that lots of moves now have more recovery on block and hit. It’s not just whiffing.
I thought the extra whiff recovery was noticeable but the recovery frames on block/hit was driving me mad. Explains why inputs seem to get eaten a lot; the buffer window has moved because the moves have new recovery timings.
I’be already gotten used to it. On launch I was dropping Lee combos for a week straight because of the extra recovery frames. Everything felt a little delayed for a while now it just feels normal.
Dude @10:20 I’ve noticed this, I never been launched punished from whiffing a jab as much as I have in T8. It’s crazy. It used to be something you had to thread the needle with electrics only, now so many characters can easily launch a whiffed jab
I think the wall break situation is becasue after you break the wall the character is still in that same stun as a wall splat so the game allows for wall throws still
this is the first time I've seen Aris talk with another human
He's been here before. He's one of the original homies with this group lol
Gotta love Aris man. Great Episode thanks guys. :)
Great pod, guys
Regarding replays / ghosts / and all that stuff. I think it's vital to have the possibility to download famous players' ghosts and make them compete in an offline theatre mode. You know, Mechagodzilla vs Kong. Arslan vs Knee. Mainman vs Aris :o) If that's not an option right now, it totally should be.
Good to see Aris. Wait you can break counter hit throws???
on ch theyre all like 10 frame breaks
Damn i was just wondering when the first t8 boomcast was coming.
Rage arts not being launch punishable by every character is pretty dumb, they need to be like -50 on block. When a move ONLY loses to block it should actually lose to block.
Well said.
I can sort of see the case for not wanting Rage Arts to be punishable by another Rage Art, but the devs should know full well that not every character has a 15f launcher so why only 15f?
Make it 17f or something so that every character is guaranteed at least one launch punish lol
@@Reydrielthe only logic I can think why the dev decision for make it 15f is so have the chance to still make a comebacj
As someone that plays Raven who can't launch punish til -16, this is extremely rarely an issue as by the time they are in rage they are in kill range for his df4,4,3 15f punish. The only time this doesn't work is if they go into rage then gain back a bunch of grey life.
Most characters' 14f punish deals almost the dmg of the rage portion of the health, so it kills 90% of the time.
Can't believe I'm listening to one of the top 15 FGC podcasts!
I missed these and this panel so much. Good shit yall keep em coming! And leave king alone! He's for the children
Always good to have aris
1:11:11 with age comes wisdom. You go, Aris!
lmao, i didnt expect to laugh so hard, for so long. Aris caught me off guard! 1:05:00
Rickstah with the Tekkenzai combo videos - awesome to see. Good memories. I wonder what happened to Castel.
This shit takes me back man. Good shit
unfortunate that you guys didn't talk about the potential characters coming back to tekken 8
thanks for the upload and podcast in number 15
theres so much stuff about t8 system that no one is talking about. like if you armor and eat a hit your armor move gets to be safe on block. and some armor moves like king's b3 are really good, because you get a tornado in a jumping opponent, which is awesome agaisnt slash kicks, azucenas wr move and lee's and so on
also when you are in heat mode, all air juggle damage is recoverable health, instead of the 50%
Just noticed the armor thing last night because I rarely use the armor move hahah.
55:47 Speaking on this , for Jin did anyone find out if a secret input for to do the story mode rage art in normal gameplay exists? That RA seems kinda useful because his normal one side switches (I think haven't got 8 yet) and that story mode one didn't.
My cheese tech for the new mechanics is heat engager into 10 hit string to chip the hell out of them. With Raven in particular, his 10 string ends with an unblockable so it’s effective.
lol that seems like a good troll
Until you play against aomebody with any common sense and they low parry you mid 10 hit and punish the hell out of you😭
@@Scum_Dup It's even easier than that. There's 3 highs in a row that can be easily duck launched. Still, maybe 1 out of 15 players do anything other than eat it. They barely see Raven and never see his 10 hit so they don't know what to do. The couple people who have countered it usually just heat burst in the middle of it.
@@jefforta4717 yeah if they dont know the matchup thats on them to just get bodied by a 10 hit😭
Oh i'm excited for this one
I ONLY played Paul in T7 and have played T8 Paul for about 80 hours so far, and I've noticed a weird delay. Let's say you start off the round immediately inputting deathfist... in T7 you can input deathfist and get the move to come out instantly if you have the timing down. In T8, I input it with the same speed and timing and will get a fwd 2. Either T7 was more lenient to buffering inputs, or T8 made it extremely strict. There's other instances with other moves but this was the most straight-forward example.
Apparently it has to do with moves that require qcb/f inputs, they cannot be buffered, so they must be done with perfect timing the moment the round starts.
@@Lexeroid590 Are you saying they COULD be buffered in T7?
@@omaisgee123 idk, I saw a video talking about It and It made sense, I'm a Bryan main and I'm constantly messing up these types of inputs
@@omaisgee123 if it's tied to a stance it cant be buffered it's always been like that. So electrics cant be buffered because they go into crouch dash death fist cant be buffered because it is tied to snake step or whatever Pauls version is called. However you can buffer something like dragunovs qcb2 cuz there's no stance tied to it
You should keep the social media tags underneath everyone’s video. It is better for promotion and good for new viewers to lookup you and the special guests.
I find that keeping everyone's matches public and not private is one of the perfect ways for everyone to be forced to get better at the game.
Hey alright!
+1 on the netcode situation.
Dragonovs running 4 is intentional. The move in the move list describes the move activated under wall splat enemy conditions
The ghost is pretty awesome at practicing defense if you use it in that way. It's dumb to try to simply just beat it because it lacks defensive capabilities but for learning a character's cheap stuff, just download any red or purple ghost and practice defense.
Yea it’s alot of fun so far it’s good for learning how to block things even if they aren’t as quick as a real player and also good for trying to learn how to play a new character and you don’t really feel comfortable fumbling around online using a character that you can barely control.
SF4 had the replay recording "issue". it is also part of how Smug was found, etc. so idk, i guess giving them the option to make private would be the best option.
awesome!!!!
People who want more defensive options are huffing some good stuff. You've got Sidestep, sidewalk, backdash, rolldash, sway, backswing blows, parries/etc, power crush, high crush, low crush, crouch, making yourself grounded to kill time, stance-based evasion/parries, and I'm sure others I'm missing.
I get that its a lil more Bunga but there's still a shit tonne of options
Awesome 😊🎉
nice video good energy
How to enable Streamer Mode like Tekken 7 in Tekken 8? I can't find the options on PC/Steam
Glad I'm not alone in thinking it's lame there are no tournaments for so long. Can't wait to see what the best players are doing with the new game.
Also, about game design I wanted to say that a good game is inherently exclusionary. Def better to stick to your guns rather than trying to appease everyone. Make things for the people who want them, not for some assumed casual person you imagine is going to magically develop interest.
When I heard BoxBox was playing, I watched all that content with PhiDX, I thought it was great. I wasn't curious until I heard Scarra was also playing. I just assumed this was the best time to get into fighting games in preparation for 2XKO or whatever Project L is being called.
S-tier cast for this podcast ... Long live bgc !!
Top 15 FGC podcast baby, Let’s Goooo!!

I'm curious what that Jack looked like
I love ghost battle tbh, i know its only fraction of its real people habit but its alot better than regular CPU. In rare chance i learn something then great, but if not its a really great place to warm up with no stake before playing Online

16:12 and 16:20 that is pretty weird specially that after CNT the beta had nerfs on Kazuya so the Jack stuff being only touched on release is really weird, seems like it really is kinda like a reaction to people complains

I wish they kept rage drive and got rid of Rage Arts instead. I'd also rather have that than the extreme damage buff you used to get in t6/tt2

Cool
hey alright
I mean, sf6 reached the million in 3 days, 3 million now
Im happy for Tekken, game deserves it
Yall absolutely didnt even get the CPT seeding issue. It has nothing to do with the random group seeding and everything to do with how the Pro Tour itself was set up. They had a set number of participants for each region able to quality meaning that relatively "no name" players were able to make it into Capcom Cup.
The issue isnt that a bunch of Killers could end up in one group like Group F but that there are some groups like Group G filled with players no one has ever heard of and who may or may not be near the level of players who didnt make it into Capcom Cup because of how the Pro Tour was handled.
Now, some no name could come out and surprise everyone, but its still a problem that strong regions like Japan only had 2 representatives just because the Pro Tour only allowed that many.
