    I have a very realistic simulation of this aircraft in X plane 11 and I absolutely am in love with this gorgeous marvel of engineering. I hope to get a job flying one someday, thank you for the awesome videos.

    20:00 Rewatched that sequence like 20 times, amazing. You were right - soo many things happening at once, you deff need to be mentally prepared for that in advance, as you have to act without any hesitation in that moment. I guess that's where the training comes in, preparing you for real-life situations . Thanks for posting this.

    Man I can't tell you how incredible this video is. I've watched it and documented each step from clearance all the way to the hold, and now I'll fly it in the sim! Thank you so much for this. PLEASE keep them coming :D

    Beautifully executed, Guy. Good that you train solo (with us, lol), that makes sure you can fully concentrate on the workload at hand. Your comments are very informative and exemplary for other pilots. My humble opinion, that is. Thx for this vid!

    Good video. Nice TBM with good pilot. Stockton tower is very friendly and airport is good for the practice. Thanks,

    Great and informative video, I really loved that G1000NXi camera setup, it shows in detail what is going on, would really like to see it, if possible, in future videos. Thanks :)

      Thank you for the feedback on the camera set-up. I have been working to place one on the PFD and MFD and this was the first time to incorporate some of that footage - will keep improving that for future videos.

      TBM 910 Guy no problem, I am a big TBM fan so the more date being shown, the better 😉 looking forward to your next video.

    what a sweet airplane that TBM 900 series.... that's my dream aircraft just going to get my business going and hopefully make enough money and redo my currency for my commercial pilot license and my IFR rating get another 300 hours and then I can jump over to this sweet bird... I'm just curious how many hours total time did you have before you made the jump I am thinking I need about 500 to 550 hours Total and hopefully 100 hours or so on a fast single engine retractable so I can make the transition to the faster TBM more smoothly and safely.... oh and excellent instructional video too I love that general aviation pilots are practicing their procedures and keeping their skills finally tuned good job....

    Thanks David. I am 6’1. Cockpit is very spacious. Seat goes way back and good open space between pilot and Co-pilot seat.

    Thanks for posting the video. Curious as to why you went gear down prior to .5 dot below GS? Also at missed approach it might be best to wait until you are positive rate to raise the gear, there is no reason to rush this.

    Do you use the AOA (angle of attack) function? Noticed in this video didn’t show on pfd? I’m planning to upgrade this AOA-USP do you recommend it?

    Hi Mark, thanks for sharing ! Just out of curiosity, could you tell me how tall you are please? Seems that the cockpit is way tighter than a 172?

  • @VJD-15
    @VJD-15 Před 6 lety +1

    I’m with all the others on your choice of camera angles: awesome! The MFD is too far to see anything, but the view on the PFD is great!
    If I may ask one question: what is the white band on your speed tape while on approach?

    • @tbm910guy8
      @tbm910guy8  Před 6 lety

      Guy Parrot : A color-coded (white, green, and red/white barber pole) speed range strip is the band (moving tape) you see on the airspeed indicator. The colors denote flaps operating range (white), normal operating range (green), and max operating speed (Vmo). Ie The full flap deploy speed is 122.

    • @VJD-15
      @VJD-15 Před 6 lety

      TBM 910 Guy (I never flew the TBM, I retired 5 years ago on the ‘triple’, so I’m guessing some answers here.) So the top of the white arc is your Vfe speed, and as you go from flaps 1 to flaps 2 (for lack of knowledgeable terms), this white band will move again to present a new Vfe at flaps 2?
      There was a reason I wanted to see more on the PFD! ;-)
      And there is also a reason I’d like to see more on the MFD: cabin altitude and delta-p. I hear the delta-p on this airplane is very low (6.2?), therefore cabin altitude must be quite high while at cruise at FL310. I’m no spring chicken anymore and a lengthy trip at high cabin altitude would not be much fun for very long.

    @beozzie690 Před 5 lety +2

    Great video! My question for you is why did you choose the Socata vs the PC-12? I’m also looking at the 930 for myself as a step up,

    • @tbm910guy8
      @tbm910guy8  Před 5 lety +1

      Thanks for the Q. The PC-12 is a great plane just a little to big for me and more expensive. Also, I am familiar with the Garmin cockpit so the transition was easier to the TBM910 which has the G1000NxI.

  • @jimmyrebel2010
    @jimmyrebel2010 Před 6 lety

    Only mistake I saw on the ILS missed was failing to call tower to inform them you were going missed. Lot's going on with instrument approaches so easy to overlook. Aviate, navigate, communicate - solid flying and great airplane.

    • @thomaskyande2142
      @thomaskyande2142 Před 5 lety

      he was cleared for a missed approach, and the procedure is clearly on the chart. at 16:14 timing on the video released by radar and identifies he'll talk to them after the missed approach and from 16:38 timing on the video he mentions that he will be flying the published missed approach. NO MISTAKE AS YOU MENTIONED ABOVE!

    • @jimmyrebel2010
      @jimmyrebel2010 Před 5 lety

      Only mistake was in failing to call tower the moment he initiated the missed approach. He was cleared for the OPTION - this implies the tower is waiting for him to make a final decision. It is especially important to communicate when you are below radar contact as controllers don't have any idea what you are doing unless you tell them. He wouldn't get cited for failing to call tower, but it is best practice to inform the tower at the time you are going missed...

    Have a question the miss button (min20) is the toga? Or is a button located in the throttle?

  • @scootermason2746
    @scootermason2746 Před 3 lety

    So on your missed approach did you establish climb manual then VS or FLC?

    • @tbm910guy8
      @tbm910guy8  Před 3 lety +1

      Scooter Mason; when you hit the go around button the airplane goes right into pitch mode of about 10 degrees up - I will leave it there until I get to Vy which is about 120 on the TBM and then I go into FLC mode for the rest of the climb. Hope this helps!
