Due to the rain, we thought we could not make a video.... until now! In this video, we quickly take a look at whether you can ride an electric scooter in the rain. We use two different electric scooters which are the Xiaomi M365 Pro and the iEZway M365 Pro Electric Scooter to see how they cope in rainy conditions.
We had so much fun recording this video in the rain and I hope you had as much fun watching it as we did making it.

One point to mention, purchase 3mm waterproof stickers or a display waterproof casing as water will get into the power button and potentially damage your scooter.

Good video you chaps - however I just noticed on my Xiao mi Essential that it says no scooting in rain or puddles. I'm worried that it might mean damaging the motor / electricals or maybe even getting an electric shock. I ordered a silicone rain cover for the dash.
I mean, here in Ireland it's impossible to go without getting rained at sone point on even on a sunny day.
what sort of cover did you end up using? any llink or name to share, and your experience using it?

For me, the back tire whipping out is the reason I would ride out in the rain it makes you feel scared, alive and happy at the same time

I feel you. I only owned my scooter for a week, around 1 or 2 hours practice and I come off in rain going over a wet drain hole. It’s funny because I was only crossing the road at slow speed , to go in park. Luckily I slid off scooter and was just able to stop myself falling to ground. Made my heart go, just like when you unexpectedly slip on ice. I don’t ride in rain much, mainly so I don’t get battery wet. I just make sure to not go too fast and slow gradually. My brakes are super sensitive and in rain even a small press makes my back tyre slide like snake motion and I almost crashed a few times. I’ve not been out on mine for last week because of rain. Some days it’s random short bursts and some like today, raining most of the day. I might try and rain proof my cheap e scooter that I use for shopping because riding in the rain is really fun and relaxing.

I'm not really worried about the safety of riding in the rain, I'll just go slower if needed.
I am however worried about damaging my Xiaomi Mi Pro2. Is there anyone here that has experience with riding in the rain on a Pro2? Is there any real risk for damage?
you won’t damage your xiamoi pro 2 but be careful when your not usin it on the road paths are very slippery
I have ridden it on wet roads after a storm and in light rain. No damages yet. And the stock tyres are awesome. Though it was spilling water everywhere, the motor part stayed almost dry. I guess you should never go into big puddles where it can soak.
I took mine out in the rain and the front light stopped working
I was driving in rain and snow and it was fun and everything was working and I saw others riding when the rain caught them. After all, you have ip54

I do take care of my vehicles whatever form it is, though i think its weird to sell a scooter thats not wtarproof,
so i have ride it in rain, snow and try avoid the puddles, i try to use it as sparse i can and had no issues at all.
i do waterspray the wheels and arcs inside and under the board (dirt and snow really collects there (make a cardboard
lip you just tejp on the frontend of the batterything and you avoid lot of shit (it may stand for a while but so easy to make a new if needed).after each ride to let 95% drip off.
For riding in slippery conditions (wet glossy mallstoneplates/subway etc, or snow, just go slow in turns and ride uppstraight (no leaning at all by use the side of the tyres)

I've ride the 1s even in wet snow (bad day with car broken😢) and sometimes in rain... Still working after 2 years and more than 600km.
These days it's raining and car is broken again, so no worry to get the scooter wet... just a bit for the tires that begins to turn slick 😅

don't do it. got caught in bad rain on the way home. the scooter wouldn't stop, I had to do a corner at 19mph and jump off my scooter. the brakes stopped working, I couldn't slow down, the tires kept spinning. I had to send my scooter back. good job it was in the warranty.
if you do get caught in the rain, put a plastic bag over the console. and don't fold the scooter wet.

Honestly I’m not totally sure, I wouldn’t recommend leaving it outside for too long if you can help it just in case
You’ll be alright if you lock your scooter with a pad lock, turn off scooter
It'll be okay but I'm pretty sure if you ask somebody in the office they'll let you store it inside

That is definitely a risk for sure, so it really depends on the scooter you have and the usage.
It is for 99% under heavy rain you will damage the electronics

I have a question, I have a Symphony ST 150 scooter, can I ride it in the rain?, are there any problems with the waterproofing? as we know that this scouter is not a high-end scouter.

The only scooter with a high IP rating is the ninebot with IPX5, I've never seen a scooter with IP57
there isn't one
If it's front wheel drive that is the complete opposite it does not kick the back end out that's what rear wheel drive does

I have a Zero x11. I’ve never drove it in the rain so far. Does anyone that own this scooter tell me if they’ve drove it in these conditions. Baring in mind this has no ip rating at all lol.

I used my iezway in the pooring rain....and now it's dead....wont turn on...completely dead :-(
I find it weird how cars and motorcycles are completely waterproof. Yet scooter stop working under pouring rain.
Iezway send me a new dashboard and now it runs fine again! So thanks iezway, if it’s good we also have to say it!!!

Looking at getting a scooter to commute, trouble is its England heavy rain 🌧️ you say 2 years warranty, but that doesn't include rain damage, would these scooter hold upto a English winter ❄️?
