      Very nice video! Informative and pro presentation. I also recently got a new tripod. I used a heavy carbon tripod with a maximum payload of 40 kg. I don't need that! :) So when I got into video making aswell I needed a lighter setup. (so much extra stuff in my camera bag these days). Anyway, now I'm using a Leofoto LS-324CEX with a small Fluid video head BV-1R. Super happy. :) I hope you will enjoy your new tripod aswell! Cheers!

      I actually got to keep my first tripod for several years but long story short it broke on the night NEOWISE was at it’s best time to see it but thankfully I was able to fix something up to hold my camera on my broke tripod and it worked out just fine. :)
      Since then I have been using my Ape Case Tripod and I have nothing but good things to say!!

    Looks like a fantastic tripod Rauri. Working around and in the ocean a lot, I've gone through many tripods. My main tripod and ballhead is a Benro and it's the best one I've ever used and lasted me the longest. Looks like a great tripod, it's one I looked at about a year or so ago when looking to switch one of mine out but unfortunately I was on a bit of a budget at the time so settled with a Vanguard option. I like the twist lock legs, as you said it's so easy to grab all three and open them all, saves on time. Nice review. I have the three-section (two locks) aluminum version. Absolutely amazing tripod--solid as a rock. It's big, but not as heavy as you might think. Highly recommended. Looks like a great choice for you! I actually do have a bigger tripod than my Leofoto - it's a Feisol and is about the same height as your Benro. It weighs about 2kg including the head, but it doesn't pack down that small so doesn't attach to backpacks that well, so I generally only take it out when I go to the beach or other places I'm not talking far. Your Benro looks like an excellent choice for something big but not too heavy, great review Rauri!

    Commenting as I watch... It's amazing the way the sunlight reflecting off your arm gives such a nice fill light for your face! Who needs a reflector?
    The tripod looks like a good 'un. My Slick one has those pull-out leg locks, really handy for sure. The bubble level on the legs is an important thing if you're gonna use the tripod for any video where you're panning, not sure how important it is for landscape, though, but I think all tripods should have that.
    Can the centre column come out and go back in upside down to shoot downward for macro-type stuff?

    • @RauriBarron
      @RauriBarron  Před 2 lety

      Haha just my white skin is a good enough reflector 😂 🤯 I didn’t even notice.
      Yeah it’s a beaut of a tripod, that bubble level on the tripod was something I didn’t have on my other ones, very useful for doing panoramas 😊
      The centre column can be reversed but not mentioned as an official feature so I didn’t mention it. And I’ve never done that to be honest as I haven’t done much macro. I find the 15cm to the ground to be good enough.
      Thanks for watching again mate 😃

I have to admit that I'm leaning to the 48 because of its height without the centre column. The Manfrotto 290 I use at the moment is OK, but I really want something higher, but not using the centre column. Thanks for the review though, it helped with not being able to have a play with one for real. Great video, Rauri! I like gear reviews for things that I certainly would consider purchasing as opposed to reviews on high end cameras because I know that I won't be in the market for one of those but I like to see ways that I can improve my equipment for those things that I can possibly afford. I have purchased three cheap travel tripods in the last two and a half years and each have broken. But my main tripod I have had for over 10 years is the SLIK 700 it is a beast weighing 8 lbs. But I can put it in the middle of a stream in front of a waterfall and it won't budge. I certainly would like to have something lighter but just as sturdy so I won't have to lug the SLIK around especially hiking to a waterfall. Hope all is well?
