- After using this tripod for more than 6 months now I can finally put forward my honest opinion on what it is like using the Gitzo Systematic GT4543LS on field. As an experienced landscape photography tripod stability and reliability is so important to me, and if the quality can withstand the elements over time, even better.
Watch this brief video. It will give you a better understanding about what these Italian crafted tripods are all about.

Mate that was a great review! You can across really real and honest
😂
Ha , nice review Matt. That’s about a casual but honest as reviews come . I’am considering some Gitzo products to replace my Manfrotto ( the other Italian ) now. Still waiting on your Gitzo three way thou, hopefully that’s coming soon! All the best pal.
Cool tripod. Jacket is even cooler 😊. Thanks for the review!
It’s becoming a popular jacket amongst my followers these days that’s for sure
Looks like a really good tripod, thanks for the great indeph look at this, wouldn't mind getting one of those pentax tops too, always love your videos and photos Matt, have a great weekend 😀
Cheers mate. Yeh, great tripod and yes, great top! Have a great weekend!!!!
Totally agree with you about the excellence of Gitzo tripods Matt. Love my smaller and lighter Gitzo GT3532S with a GH3382QD ball head. Best tripod I've owned!
All Pentaxians have great taste in the right gear mate
@@MattBishopPhotography Of course! Gitzo also make excellent camera bags.
Great review and nice surroundings - thanks. I have a Gitzo GT3542XLS since severals years now and it works and looks like new; great piece of engineering. When fully extended
it is 79“ high (without the head). With my 76kg, I‘ve made push-ups on it, which didn‘t impress it at all.
Bought the exact same one last year before the price went up and came with the Gitzo backpack hahah. Was using a hand me down someone gave me and this was the first one I bought, I love it, getting lazy so going to get the bowl and leveling base, adjusting each leg at time sucks. Oh have the RRS Bh-55 on old tripod the Gitzo one is better, especially in cold weather, the RRS has 2 small knobs which are pain to use in cold weather. The friction control on the head is awesome works almost like a gimbal, I can put my R5 with the 100-500 and it won't move or my A1 and 200-600.
great review thank you
Appreciate that!
This looks like a real beast!
Just like your tik Tok hey mate?
@@MattBishopPhotography Tik Tok Rocks!
Ahahahahahahahahaha
Today my Gitzo tripod has been arrived , the same one as you I am very happy with my tripod
🤦♂
Love QR tripod ... Makeit quick to do some quick action
This man deserves much more views and likes only due his accent
Only for my accent? Wow! Thanks! Your too kind !
I’ve been using 2 Gitzo’s for 30 years. A reporter and a Studex aluminum legs. Excellent. Still work like a champ. I also used Linhofs. Also excellent but, not as versatile. Buy, quality!!!!
Exactly!
Bought mine 3 years ago and still works like it came out of the box, borrowed plenty of tripods, this was my first one I purchased, all my friends have bought at least 3 before going Gitzo. Save your money and just buy once.
There you go. Well you know exactly what I am talking about then. Have a great day and thanks for commenting
I have just recently bought the Gitzo GT3542L tripod and the GH4383QD tripod head, I cant figure out why Gitzo would make the panning degrees read right to left, and the ballhead torque turn anti clockwise to make it tighter.
Gitzo and Pentax you like your retro gear mate.
Based on this review, and the fact that he is a fellow Aussie, this is the only video review of this particular model, I’ve put in my order.
🤦♂
Great review and I totally stand by you Matt. I have two myself (one is a traveller but what an amazing little thing that is!). Yes, quality 360 degrees, I agree with you! And thank you for the compliments on Italian things, it's true we're a bit of perfectionists... The one I want to get is your model as I've a traveller and a mountaineer, but I still think the heavier the better for landscape photography. I'm very glad to see you shoot Pentax! Great camera! (I started when I was a kid with one!).
Thanks a lot…..grazie mille!!!! I hope the video helped in your decision. If you need any advice you know where to find me. Forza Pentax!
I use mine a lot.. I photograph eagles .. Mine in a GT3540XLS 6X with a large JOBU gimbal .. I use a Canon 1DMK4 and Canon EF500 F4 IS ...
Yes, I can read it. Ball head is : Gitzo GH4383LR. Bonus, I wrote it down.
There are so many hidden components of a product, that you would never know about..........unless you're a product designer..........or you have had the misfortune of experiencing THAT specific problem. For example, about 10 years ago, I purchased a Manfrotto "travel" tripod. Used it 2 or 3 times.........until a leg section fell off in my hand, in my living room, while I was extending a leg. Fortunately, there was no camera mounted. The POINT is........I never thought about how the leg sections stay attached. Turns out, there are clips that are holding the leg sections together. So, on a 9 section (3 sections per leg) tripod, there are 9 of those clips (inside the leg tubes). Who knew? 3 guesses.......and the first two don't count........as to what material those clips on that Manfrotto "travel" tripod were made out of? If you type, "steel"..........you would be WRONG! They were made out of a brittle plastic. I would guess the part cost less than 10 cents.
Similar to how NOBODY doing an auto review on CZcams will tell you how easy it is to access the starter, water pump, or A/C compressor on a vehicle (you don't want to find out AFTER the fact, that the engine needs to come out, in order to replace that component); NOBODY doing a tripod review will mention those clips.........or what they are made of. A $1,500 tripod for an amateur photographer is beyond excessive, but a $1,500 tripod held together by cheap and inferior components is INEXCUSABLE. Perhaps Gitzo uses another method for keeping their leg sections attached, perhaps they use the same plastic as the Manfrotto, or maybe they're attached using stainless steel clips. The POINT is.........the consumer does not know.
The cynic in me says that they're the same cheap plastic as the Manfrotto, because it were anything better, THAT would be something worthy of mentioning in their marketing materials.
Great comment mate! Could not agree more.
The Kingjoy C85is just as good as this tripod and comes with a levelling base / bowl and stainless steel spikes as standard for £449 compared to the Series 3 Gitzo with the accessories for £1,131.
hi I bought systematic series 3 but I am wondering if series 5 is better to exchange? please advise.
This is the first systematic that I have used. This is specific model is a series 4. What were you exactly looking at? I may be able to help you make that decision
@@MattBishopPhotography I bought systematic series 3 but I saw series 5 later. I want to know what is the quality advantage of series 5 over 3 to make decision if I should keep or exchange it?
Which series 3 model do you have exactly? If the tripod dimensions, weight and manageability are working for you with the model, is a change necessary? For myself for example I would consider getting a mountaineer, removing the centre column and using it as my travel tripod rather than the cheap Chinese travel tripod that i have at the moment
@@MattBishopPhotography of course series 3 is working for my landscape photography but if series 5 has an advantage for quality I would change it.
@@mrz1342 I imagine you have the GT3543LS. Obviously with every series we have as lightly advance in technology. I am not too sure if there are big differences btw the 2 but I’d be happy to find out for you
Blah, blah, blah, 🤣🤣🤣, IT was a good review, for a good product, Hope you are enjoying the cooler weather, Not bad weather this year , in Central Queensland, Only low 30s, after some excellent rain, Cheers Bevan 🤠🦘🦘🇦🇺
Hahahahahhaha
Just to let you know that that tripod and bald head system was about $650 about 6-8 months ago
And now I just looked at it it's over $1,500
I really hate it when you people all CZcamsrs
Do a product review of some sort
And then the price goes out of proportion buy anywhere between three to six times higher than what it started off with
I do like the fact that you chew with Pentax so do I
But please stop promoting astronomical prices for these companies
lol kinda funny your telling us to go out and buy this tripod when it costs an arm and a leg.... yet you get to try it out for free lol :')
😂 Gitzo is not Italian. It is a French company.
Gitzo was originally a French company…quite a few years have passed since
I was really trying to find an excuse for why this is a uniquely tripod and ITS NOT! Its exactly as the other Carbon Fiber tripods that you can get for $150-200! LITERALLY THE SAME EXACT THING!!! They straight up ROBBED their customers with this garbage! Its not innovative! Its exactly the same as the other cheap ones! Nothing on it is unique or patented! They just slapped an Insane price on it and People think its some special kind of quality! Smh! I hate companies that do this to the Customers and whats even worse is People out there knowing this actually, sit there lie to their followers for a small tiny paycheck which shows exactly how much they respect their own followers and their hard earned money!!! Whoever was thinking about buying this trash... SAVE YOUR $$$
Do you actually own or have used a Gitzo Tripod?
A lot of distraction. Hard to pay attention.
