    I purchased the TR344L (the one you suggested when hiking longer distances) back in 2018. Only $945 then! I used this with my Canon pro DSLRs and 600mm but now my Sony's and 600mm lens and it never fails. Agree with you on build quality (I am an engineer). The aluminum components beat out Gitzo's magnesium die casting. Aluminum is stronger and more ductile than magnesium. I had two Gitzos in the past and one totally seized up in the legs and the other had the apex crack. 6 years with the TR344L and no issues. The only thing I miss over your larger one is the removable center leveling unit. On the TR344L you have to unscrew it. Thanks for the great well-done video.

      Thanks for sharing! I really appreciate it! I feel like they are so underrated, and kind of an unknown in the photography world. I’m hoping more people can realize how good of quality the are!

    I purchased the TR423 and absolutely love it. I love that it's made in the USA and the quality is noteworthy. I think I paid $1300 for it so they defiantly ain't cheap but totally worth it. The TR423 fits in my Away Large Flex suitcase for checked baggage with no problem. I've recommend it to several other wildlife photographers who've also purchased it and all give it three thumbs up.

      Thanks so much for commenting! I totally agree, and it’s for sure an investment. But it is totally built to last. Thanks for watching!

    I recently bought the TR344LBL ( the one that comes with the leveling head). I thought about getting the 424L but decided I didn’t need the extra heft since I don’t shoot with huge lenses (biggest is a Sigma 150-600). So far I am really impressed with this PMG tripod

      @@FoxandFir I have an engineering background myself and am very impressed with PMG's attention to detail. It is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into their products (I also have their L-bracket for my Canon R5)

    yeah, it seems legit to call a FREE 1500$ tripod, the best. Hell, if I got one who costs 400$ i'd say the same

    • @FoxandFir
      @FoxandFir Před 4 měsíci +1

      Well that’s the difference then, I wouldn’t say it’s the best if it wasn’t.

      If you ever get a big prime, you will eventually need something to hold it up. When you do, you will have like 4 options in tripods, just remember ProMediaGear. Its the best quality for the price point

      @@FoxandFir Thanks! If I ever get to the point where I can afford something like that, I will remember this. I guess I just am not to the point where I can fathom that kind of investment. It's hard for me to digest even renting a $13k lens currently.

    • @FoxandFir
      @FoxandFir Před 4 měsíci +1

      For sure, it all comes with time. Now just imagine you spent the 13K to buy that lens. Are you going to trust that on a tripod that might crack or break? Probably not. Enjoy the rental! Hopefully you get some great stuff!

    43 sec in and im out! when you hear the words 'I didnt get paid for this but I got it for free" its an ADVERT!
    you cannot be un biased when someone lobs you a £1300+ tripod
    end of story
