  • I have been requested by quite a few of you to listen to #LiamGallagher's new song #EverythingsElectric. You may or may not be surprised to learn that I am in fact an Oasis fan and have a lot of respect for Liam Gallagher, however let's have a listen to this new song and react to it with fresh ears. What do you lot think about it? Please tell me in the comments.

LOVE YOU, MAN! :D Your insights are spot on and I like how respectful you are to all the artists but whilst still maintaining your opinions. Could you take a look at 'Metaphysical' by 'The Technicolors'? Awesome tune with so many different sections that compliment each other well and a super simple but EPIC guitar solo. Would love to hear your thoughts on this. :) All the best, Justin! Thank you for inspiring me when I was 15 playing the guitar. Keep doing the channel.

I do remember Oasis slagging off the Darkness back in the day but then thats Oasis. Just banter. But knew there was appreciation really . Big fan of both Gallaghers work but I'd say collectively Liams recent stuff is surprisingly stronger which back in the day I'd never have guessed. But when Noel does (more rarely now) hit a solid tune, like Dead in the Water, it has that break your heart magic that Oasis tapped into alot back in the day so it's win win really.

I do like how Noel is doing ‘newer’ (for him that is) things with his music though. Always respect people stepping out of their comfort zones or just doing new shit and experimenting with things (not a dig at Liam either, I’d be just as interested if he did some more “out there” stuff)
It’s nice that he finally released Come On Outside cause it’s one of those that’s been around for ages. I really like Blue Moon Rising (reminds me a lot of Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush, especially the Synth line during the chorus) as well. This is the Place also a good tune.
I guess I still find myself listening to songs off the first two HFB records far more than those that come afterwards.

I remember the first album coming out and it was very good (not as good as Suedes debut though). I went to see them and was disappointed. There was better British indie bands around. Then within a year Oasis got blown up by the media mainly. Anyway I guess you’re right they did tap into something but it was mainstream and by that time I’d moved on and was listening to other things. It annoys me tho that bands like Suede and Verve who were brilliant in the early 90s then just cashed in and hopped on the britpop wagon when their music was so much more edgy in the early days. How on earth did Verve go from songs like Gravity Grave to crap like Lucky Man 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s “stronger” coz Liam ain’t fucking writing all his music 😂 he’s like the modern day Ariana grande now I love Liam to death but for everything he did with oasis ngl he got some bangers and bold is my fav song that he’s actually written but I mean how shit is it’s electric I feel so ashamed that he actually liked the sound of it and decided to release it atleast Noel is creating his own sound we might not like it but atleast he’s enjoying it now

Liam Gallagher went through a horrible vocal degradation because of a hidden disease called Hashmito's Disease a form of autimmune Thyroid inflamation (condition) and it affacts the voice. Fortunately it was diagnosed and now he is under treatment and this is why he was able to come back to the make music. Now he has a deeper voice and narrower range and because of the condition that he has, sometimes his voice is hoarse as he said, he put down cigarettes, doesn't drink dairy, doesn't do drugs and doesn't drink alcohol as much, and because of that he regained his vocal strength and he makes very great music and I love it. Though I love both brothers.

The story about Noel returning Paul McCartney's 1997 album "Flaming Pie" I'm certain was just tabloid nonsense. Noel has stated the title track from that album is one of his all time favourite McCartney songs and has always spoken highly of Paul. He's also long time friends with his daughters Mary and Stella, worked with him on cover of "Come Together" in 1995 for the "War Child's Help album", attended a party at his house, many of his events, including the recent "Get Back " documentary premiere and last year shared the stage with him at Stella's 50th birthday party.

All these guys have producers and musicians and record studio workers who all have crossed each others paths before and generally tend talk about things that happened over the years.

In terms of the arrangements, the textures of the music. Liam’s works are really thin, lack of layering, they sounds like Adele’s music to me. Noel being a musician/songwriter, he knows how to make his music rich, thick, and packed with good sounds. The choice of sounds and the instrumentation are much more colourful in Noel’s music.
And how about the chord progression and harmonies? Noel’s stuff uses more interesting chords choices. Liam’s works are not those diatonic four chord songs but it’s not far from that.

On a separate note; I am partial to stream of consciousness, seemingly obscure, perhaps bordering on non-sequitur, lyrics. So long as they are painting a vivid enough picture to feel. I know in my own writing that is how the creative process works for me, but I end up finding shockingly deep meaning in the words after the fact. Certainly one of the things I have loved about some of the Oasis lyrics. What I love is that a song can have 100,000 distinct meanings - for the 100,000 different ears that have listened to said song. Songwriting creates fractals of experience that ripple through this dimension and whatever dimension thought exists in, in a way that is difficult to even comprehend. What a powerful medium music is. Truly awe inspiring. Love the videos as always Justin!

With Liam it's two things for me:
1). His songwriting evolved from the laughable "Little James" to the much more surreal "I'm Outta Time" but then he realised to be a more prolific solo artist he needed a good team behind him. So overall his songs have improved.
2). Vocally he's done a lot of damage to his voice over the years, he's not likely to regain his heyday voice, but as long as he doesn't start songs like Morning Glory with:
"Ah yah dreez zuh may.... ah now ya chay to thu mirruh anna rayzah blay..."
like he started doing in Oasis I'm happy listening to him sing again. He went through quite a rough patch.

    • @BukkuCSouls
      @BukkuCSouls Před 2 lety +6

The way he would sing was.. Liam, that’s his sound, the “Oasis sound”. Pronunciation can go a long way in vocals, if done right it can get stuck in your head. That’s how a Good Vocalist can draw you in, if you love the sound and pronunciation of their vocals then you get hooked. That’s why I feel Wonderwall was such a powerful song, not only was it a well written song but the Vocals really stood out and you notice that when people sing along to it. For example, if you watch him when Oasis Performed My Generation at Later with Jools Holland in 2000, the way he pronounces the words when singing the song really sticks with you. Instantly you’d be able to tell that it is Liam singing it(not just from the sound of his voice). I think what I’m trying to say is it gives it a bit more of an identity.
As for his Damaged Vocals, it is a shame but Liam knew it was going to happen and he didn’t care like he said “I give it my all when I sing, I sing as if it’s the last time I’m singing that song”. It’s all about passion. However it is a shame as (I am probably being a bit biased here but) he was one of the greatest Rock Vocalists of his Generation(in my opinion). Nothing but Passion, Power and Emotion coming from his Throat. The Laryngitis and Hashimoto's thyroiditis Disease certainly didn’t help things as they obviously made his voice deteriorate faster but amazingly he’s still going and still sounds fucking awesome.

Conversely, for every off-day he’s had there’s another when he’s fuckin on it. For example, the unplugged version of Now That I Found You (it may be the same as the album version, I don’t think so however. Iirc this one is in like Milan or smth??).
