It's so nebulous and subjective. I for one have no clue what it means. I would imagine Ødegaard doesn't make it because he's just a pretty good player in good form. Maybe it's like the players who come to mind when you think of "the best in the world" in which case no one for either team makes it (except Casemiro)
As an Arsenal fan I wouldn't label Odegaard as world class YET. But he's shown the potential and if anyone watches him play, his vision and playmaking is truly one of best around right now and he's arguably not even in his prime yet

The comparison between each team's players and who would get in the other team is irrelevant because Man United have signed some cracking players over the past few years who just seemed to disappear into a black hole and we don't know just how good they could be in a prem team with some confidence, organization and decent coaching. You could say the same about Arsenal too. Both clubs are showing signs of promise albeit over a very short period of time but these questions are a bit premature. Arsenal do look to be a step ahead of United at the moment but we'll see what the end of the season standings say...

I'd say Arsenal have been past the trend of signing players who don't turn up for the club for two seasons in a row. Surely, when Arteta came in, Arsenal made such signings. But, starting from 2021/22 and 2022/23 all their signings have either been direct hits with the style and values of Arteta, or need some time before we can truly comment on them as they still have a lot to develop (like Nuno Tavares, Sambi Lokonga). But yeah, the sense of buying players for the sake of just buying players seems to have gone from Arsenal's approach.
You could still sense a tinge of panic in a largely planned window for United this window, maybe they'll get better with upcoming windows. But for now, definitely Arsenal seems to be far better suited to purchasing players that are gonna definitely fit in their team.
