Bill Paxton in Hollywood heaven: “but we already made the masterpiece!”
Ugh. Don’t hate something just because it’s new and different. Give it a chance.
@@yolandaponkers1581 Usually, these continuations/reboots are disappointments. Especially when they have a lot of glory to live up to. The original was extremely well done and, as many have stated, a masterpiece. With the current agenda Hollywood has for how to make movies, they usually don't pan out well.
this'll be some hot garbage, can already tell
Bill may be in Heaven but there is no Heaven for Hollyweird.
@@danatos24i have three words for you ( TOP GUN MAVERICK)
I have lived in Oklahoma most of my life and I am 23 seconds into this and I already have a problem. Tornadoes do not sneak up on you. We have some of the best meteorologists in the country working in this state and we are informed way in advance. This isn't an earthquake, it's a moving weather emergency that our weather people train just for shit like this. We do not go to or even have rodeos during tornado warnings, nor do we go to the drive-in. (first movie) I'll watch the rest, but I just had to say. Nope, give me Bill Paxton or go home.
🆗
Lived in Enid for a while. We always saw tornados predicted up to a week out.
How did you like them running to take cover under the overpass?
The first movie was all about them creating the advanced warning system of today. I’m sure it’s largely fictional. But the drive in movie happens before Dorthy flies. I’m pretty sure Helen Hunt’s character said they had no warning for that storm. In 2024 to have a tornado sneak up like that wouldn’t happen. The first movie works so well because it is set in a timeline before advanced weather technology.
In 1969 that wouldn't happen. Warning or not, we Okies are smart enough to come out of the rain when the sky gets green and the wind stops. No wind, no rain, dead still, you better be in a shelter. Hollywood thinks Okies are stupid, so it's insulting. Considering most of them would wet themselves over a 40 mph wind, let alone a real twister Thunderstorm happen before tornadoes. Downpours with high winds and frequent lightning. When do we have a rodeo? After the rain stops and the wind dies down? See the above comment. Yeah, we have had electricity in Oklahoma for a while now and we did pretty well before Helen Hunt
As a meteorologist for over 10 years, this will not compare to the original! That was my favorite movie as a kid…
Hey how do you measure CAPE?
@@imana3808 well, C.A.P.E stand Convective Available Potential Energy, which how much fuel is used to feed a storm. It is measured with all kinds of tools such as the HRRR or a hodograph. I hope this helped a lot and thanks for asking!

I think it would be awesome if they showed the original Twister movie in the theaters again. Such a great movie for the big screen!
And the sound effects on the original is amazing!!!
Yeah exactly. Improve the clarity using the original film and clean it up visually. It would be excellent.

1. I was going to wait long enough to be able to see it for free but I probably won't live that long. Not considering that a movie search for a sixty years old movie can lead to "Buy or Rent " and hiding of any other posted versions.

Trying to recreate a masterpiece is a mistake
Really hoping it's trying to be a sequel rather than a remake...seems like it is... but still... As you said, original twister is a masterpiece film in every possible way.
They're definitely trying too hard. Hard pass
Twister is not a masterpiece
@user-rt1vy1gk2k Twister was 2nd overall in 96. Beating Mission Impossible, and other big time movies.
@@timberanvil3788 pretty sure this is a sequel. the one girl that "doesn't chase" anymore I believe is supposed to be Jo's daughter from the first movie grown up.
It’s super interesting how in some of the scenes there’s debris weighing hundreds of pounds more than the people that’s being hurled around the air yet the people are just standing there like the wind doesn’t phase them
They are all Marvel Superhero's in disguise.
This is actually possible. Where I live we've had a few tornadoes. One took the 2nd floor of my house at 3:00 am while my husband and I and 2 of our little boys were inside. Thank God we were all downstairs when it hit. About 6 years prior an F 3 came across the golf course next door and destroyed several homes across the street. I saw an end table amongst the rubble with a teacup and a telephone sitting on it undisturbed. Heavy things get picked up first. Light weight things are often left behind.
This was my exact thought! I see a trolley being hurled at one of the main characters that must weigh multiple tons and he's standing there like nothing is happening and his shirt sleeves aren't even blowing in the wind LOL
@@my3sons757I think it has something to do with Center of Gravity 🤔
To be fair the original Twister has this issue to some extent and pretty much every tornado movie ever does as well
Me watching this trailer when I've already had to sit in a real tornado shelter twice this year. 😂
Hollywood and their predictive programming
My sister and I loved the OG. We watched it over and over and over again. We knew all the lines and paused and rewound the VHS so many times trying to find hidden stuff. We knew all the characters names. She went to Heaven 10 years ago, and now she's joined by Bill and Dusty. We watched Storm Chasers on the Discovery channel. I remember countless stories of us taking cover in our basement in Illinois when tornados came through. Once it was just her, I, and our dog home alone when a tornadic storm came through. Once in 2004 we had a tornado come through our home area and cause devastation in the next little town over. We went out and surveyed the damage. The year before she passed, she went down to Washington, Illinois to help out with the tornado victims there. I'll be watching this thinking of her.
I hope I see that same cow again.
Bravo, young man! 99% of people have no idea what you are referring to.
Moooo MOOOOOOOO!!!!
Which translates to: God damn it not again
Lmao
"Another cow"
"Actually I think that's the same one...from 1996"
Nooooooooo.
"Cow, COW!"
When they keep doing remakes instead of original content you know it's a bad sign.
Even prequels aren't good either, an example was the The Thing (2011) which sadly took the mystery away from the original movie.
and of all things "Twister". Not only that, but even with todays tech, they still can't make CGI tornados realistic.
This isn’t a remake… if you’d actually do some research like I did.
Twisters Is A Standalone Sequel To The 1996 Original
Despite Universal Pictures' previous plan, Twisters is not a remake of Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton's Twister. Feb 12, 2024

I only have one critique. If you're at any sporting even or anything, everyone has a smart phone. You're telling me that nobody got a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning on their phones? For them to get the siren for a tornado when it was like 1/4 of a mile away, then that's not realistic. That even would have had notice long before that tornado even gotten to them.
Exactly.
Yeah, a monster tornado doesn’t just pop up out of nowhere with no warning. In 1996….yes that did happen still….but not today in 2024.

i have to say i've experienced a tornado crossing over a bridge...i thought it was just a squall line of storms moving through...boy was i wrong. it did lift my truck some as i tried to accelerate but went no where. I will remember that day forever, i was frightened.
I hate how in these Tornado movies they can never get the actual logic of how a tornado works correctly. A tornado doesn't just appear you KNOW it's there. and how everything that is super heavy is blown away and the people are all perfectly fine. Being someone who loves tornados these movies really hurt to watch.
Yup

The tornadoes were chasing them in the original too what are you talking about lol
Tornados REMEMBER!
"Where's my truck?!?"
The only way I really see this working is if one of them if Jo and Bill's kid and they are having to redo the data collection in order to find out what information was missing from the original Dorothy as technology has advanced so much in 28 years.

When the tornado can pick up the truck 20 feet behind you but you're still able to keep running🙄
Yeah, saw that, too. Very unrealistic, and surprised they left that scene in there. That close in, there would be extremely high winds, which would destroy surrounding structures...and that sign before the truck would be sucked up like that. The original twister was a great movie with charm and jokes
Pretty sure a tornado wouldn't strike completely unexpectedly like that 😅 There's always "Severe storms possible" warnings days in advance and "Tornado Watch" warnings etc. If people wanted to have the rodeo anyway that could happen but an "Oh no! We totally didn't expect this!" level chaos is highly unlikely.
Yeah that was my initial thought too, like, I can forgive stuff that's unrealistic, it's a movie, ones got to be able to suspend disbelief to a degree, cars/trucks being thrown but not people, it makes no sense with physics but, that's Hollywood, I can look past it for the sake of it being a movie and not wanting to be overly critical and ruin the fun for myself, but, when I first saw that part my initial reaction was "Did.. they get jumpscared.. by a fucking tornado? You can see in the second shot the thing is very well established already, did NOBODY in that crowd see the giant fucking tornado already on the ground in the background and decide "heyyy.. maybe we should call off the rodeo and take shelter" until they started feeling the wind? I mean, I get tornados come unexpectedly in real life sometimes, Rolling Fork proved how dangerous they can be at night last year, especially if people are asleep, like, in that circumstance I can understand not knowing it's coming until it's too late but, that said, tornados aren't exactly fucking subtle, unless one happens in the middle of the night and occurs spontaneously right by your town you're probably gonna have a pretty damn good idea it's coming--
@@anonymousmink5027 especially since there are plenty of real idiots that are shooting ACTUAL tornado footage from their doorways..... right before the thing hits!. I mean they know how this stuff goes down.. they are just fx show offs!

On one hand, I get the reference, on the other, it feels almost bittersweet, and I have a bad feeling the film will make it into a "Oo look scary tornado that's killed chasers oo" rather than showing the actual horror of that event. I get it's a movie and they don't wanna kill the mood but, that's one tornado that seemingly had a genuine bloodlust for anyone pointing a camera at it (its unprecedented expansion to nearly 4x its size in minutes, it's seemingly random accelerating/decelerating ground speed, it's very odd/unique path compared to most), and it's kinda sad if they downplay it and the deaths it caused for the sake of making money from the few who'd know enough to get the reference

Like many other films that were great, "Twister" did not need a remake. Talk about trying to re-milk movies that should be left untouched.
Update: Okay, “the joke is on me.” It’s not a remake, but a sequel. Now that will keep me awake for the rest of my life.
I immediately called it a remake when I saw footage of Dorothy being used all over again, (which would now be low tech). So sue me. Dorothy!... I really miss "The Extreme"
0:36 🎵… where the wind goes sweeping across the plains.🎵
Okay actual storm freaks, let's break this down.
Biggest peeve: hiding under the overpass trope. DON'T EVER DO THAT. You can get crushed to death by debris being shoved up under the bridge.
Things they generally got wrong: Most of it, including (as far as I can tell) not contracting any actual chasers for any actual tornado footage. Every tornado I saw in this trailer was CGI. Also the 'twins' which was very obviously supposed to be a tornado with a satellite, not two tornados. And the firenado should probably have broken apart with the amount of heat and force from the... oil processing plant?... as it was exploding. Though I will say that that sort of situation is a chaser's worst nightmare if it could happen.
Things they (kinda) got right:
Not much. But the wind turbines being ripped apart by a tornado DID actually happen, last week in fact. And it's somehow more impressive in real life than it looked in this movie. IRL they caught on fire too.
I was hoping this would be the first movie in years that I'd be tempted to go to theaters for, but I don't think I want to anymore, unless a lot of that money is going to tornado survivors and damage funds. Frankly, a Ryan Hall Y'all stream during a severe weather outbreak seems like it's more entertaining, thrilling, AND more helpful to the people that actually get hit.
This movie is a Documentary about what is happening in the Mid-West and South East the past 2 weeks 😲
It’s that pattern it seems like. We’re under a severe weather watch today in Texas.
That's Spring, brother. Every year.
So sad we won't get the piercing, eering sounds from Alex/Eddie Van Halen song(Respect The Wind) from the ending credits of Twister.
The only thing I don’t like about these tornado movies is how ppl can casually run on the streets with tornadoes but houses, cars and cows get lift up 😜
In Bill Paxton's memory, Univeral Studios needs to bring back the Twister event in Florida
I'm pretty sure the writers of "INTO THE STORM" will love to see this trailer, considering there are several scenes that are almost identical to that film, including the firenado and the anchored truck to the ground and the unprofessional tornado chasers.
I swear Hollywood has just ran out of good ideas for a decade now
Into the storm was super mid though. This looks incredible
tbf its based off of real chasers, most chasers have anchored trucks (the TIV and TIV 2) and some don't go to school for it, just do it as a hobby. I suppose you could call that unprofessional
Twister invented this so "Into the storm" can go suck it.
Still if anything can take this shit down prior to release PLS BY ALL MEANS DO IT!
I mean, Firenadoes have been known to go full EF-3 wedge before
Just realised i have just seen all the action scenes....
The best ones anyways.
Damn you curiosity!!
@rvandenberg1987 I wonder if they will ever understand to NOT show every jump scare/ good part. We just seen the whole movie in 5 minutes.
Will surely watch
Crazy they filmed this not even 5 minutes away from my house
The 1996 version, Tombstone and Hot Tub Time Machine are my 3 favorite go to movies. Lol
Hiding in a highway underpass is a big mistake
Ill check it out just because threw in a rendition of the El Reno Tornado
For all that hype there better be a freaking T-Rex inside that twister.
This is the sequel. The daughter now has the reins!
Yeah,I'm looking forward to the release of this complete set of movies because I like weather very much! 😄❤️🙏🏻🎉
El Reno. That's the hat tip to the man and legend who died there. The "Dorothy" was Carl Youngers idea. El Reno tornado made a right angle turn.. almost as if it was after him.
I hope it comes out in DVD I love too buy one for me I can’t wait till they come out
There are no steak and eggs?

Nope. They gonna add Vegan shit this time... no joke about "didnt you see my cow's" to be found here...
