A bit late here, but apparently this wasn't even part of the study; it's only mentioned at all because it was apparently a novel instance of alpha-GPC causing hypersexuality in a subject and supposedly was reported to them after the study (which is actually linked in the pictured website) had taken place with no other notable mentions I can find. Not only is Paul not actually citing a study for evidence, he's citing a second-hand anecdote about an apparently novel instance of alpha-GPC causing hypersexuality in a subject. You couldn't cherry pick evidence harder than this without just plain making it up.
@@junieb9446 That could mean that the 79 year old man may of had compounding factors that even lead to the secondary effect in which the alpha-GPC wasn't the main contributing factor, or possibly not a factor at all. The guy could of had a different way of processing it medically unique to few people. This is why sample size is so important in studies, along with control groups to at least try to rule out outside factors tainting the data.

I know years late on this response, but for my education to get a degree in Chemistry, we watched a documentary about how the Soy plant is pretty much the most useful plant in history. It has steroids in it that can be modified to be a wide range of important drugs, it's alpha protein was game changer. It's like these people don't actually understand chemistry or how the fact that because something started in a Soy plant, that doesn't mean it is the same thing anymore.
Because that would ruin their argument if they understood chemistry, so instead, chemistry is a "libreal" study while "real men" (what ever that is) to make sure that it can't hurt their objectively wrong ideas

Alastair Bond actually unfermented soy is not a good quality food to eat, quite a few in nutrition and science believe this and there are plenty of studies, fermented soy is another issue but in the West it is mainly unfermented soy which is eaten here.

Let's just think about this for a moment: Paul has almost 1.2 MILLION subscribers. Hbomb has about 208K. Paul was so upset and angry about a guy with only about 1/6 of his subscriber base posting a video his followers would probably never even watch all the way through, that he felt the need to put on a red wing (because dyed hair is a major part of the sjw strawman) and over-sized glasses, pitch his voice, and ramble on about how his product is totally not bad and only put in soy to balance out the effects of the other active ingredients... which were derived from soy. I don't even know how to describe this level of insecurity and mental gymnastics. He had no reason to respond to this, especially given the size and mindset of his core audience. But he did so anyway, because apparently he just can't deal with being debunked so thoroughly. And he can't even admit he was wrong, because he know he'd lose a good chunk of that core audience. It seems Paul is digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself, and he's too scared to climb the ladder being offered to him because the ladder was thrown down by SJWs and his base will abandon him if he takes it.
Yeah but having a million subscribers is a bit like having 1000 Facebook friends - it doesn't necessarily make you more popular than somebody with 200 friends because chances are most of them are people you haven't seen in years and never actually interact with you online much less in real life, or in this case actually bother to watch your videos. If you look at the view counts it's a lot closer - at the time I'm writing this Paul has 1 million views in the original video compared to 333K for HBG's measured response and his followup has 452K compared to 141K for this video. Also bear in mind that HBomb was explicitly responding to Paul so a lot of his views could just be people who went there after watching Hbomb's videos. What's more, the last time Paul did a video whose view count matched his subscriber count was way back in August (aside his videos exploiting the Las Vegas massacre), whereas the last time HBomb failed to do that was in June 2016 (aside from his gaming/film videos). What this shows is that a lot of the subscribers Paul has are just dead accounts (which should come as absolutely no surprise because his target audience is edgy teenagers who for the most part eventually grow up), and on the flip side, Hbomb could perhaps have a lot of "silent subscribers" who are too lazy to click the subscribe button. Obviously there's still a three to one difference but the latter shows Hbomb's channel is on the rise. Paul I can guarantee you will have faded into obscurity within a year or two.
The problem with PJW is that he's a salesman who's opinions are motivated by his sales. I don't think he's even making an attempt at intellectual honesty.
I think some genuinely believe the things they say, but not because they have thought about it but because it feels enough like it's true and makes the world simpler for them. None of these ridiculous conspiracy theories hold up to any scrutiny, they just require you to want to believe them and not scrutinise them.

A bit late here, but apparently this wasn't even part of the study; it's only mentioned at all because it was apparently a novel instance of alpha-GPC causing hypersexuality in a subject and supposedly was reported to them after the study (which is actually linked in the pictured website) had taken place with no other notable mentions I can find. Not only is Paul not actually citing a study for evidence, he's citing a second-hand anecdote about an apparently novel instance of alpha-GPC causing hypersexuality in a subject. You couldn't cherry pick evidence harder than this without just plain making it up.

The guy could of had a different way of processing it medically unique to few people.
This is why sample size is so important in studies, along with control groups to at least try to rule out outside factors tainting the data.

I know years late on this response, but for my education to get a degree in Chemistry, we watched a documentary about how the Soy plant is pretty much the most useful plant in history. It has steroids in it that can be modified to be a wide range of important drugs, it's alpha protein was game changer. Alastair Bond actually unfermented soy is not a good quality food to eat, quite a few in nutrition and science believe this and there are plenty of studies, fermented soy is another issue but in the West it is mainly unfermented soy which is eaten here.

Let's just think about this for a moment:
Paul has almost 1.2 MILLION subscribers.
Hbomb has about 208K.
Paul was so upset and angry about a guy with only about 1/6 of his subscriber base posting a video his followers would probably never even watch all the way through, that he felt the need to put on a red wing (because dyed hair is a major part of the sjw strawman) and over-sized glasses, pitch his voice, and ramble on about how his product is totally not bad and only put in soy to balance out the effects of the other active ingredients... which were derived from soy.
I don't even know how to describe this level of insecurity and mental gymnastics. He had no reason to respond to this, especially given the size and mindset of his core audience. But he did so anyway, because apparently he just can't deal with being debunked so thoroughly. And he can't even admit he was wrong, because he know he'd lose a good chunk of that core audience. It seems Paul is digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself, and he's too scared to climb the ladder being offered to him because the ladder was thrown down by SJWs and his base will abandon him if he takes it.

Yeah but having a million subscribers is a bit like having 1000 Facebook friends - it doesn't necessarily make you more popular than somebody with 200 friends because chances are most of them are people you haven't seen in years and never actually interact with you online much less in real life, or in this case actually bother to watch your videos.
If you look at the view counts it's a lot closer - at the time I'm writing this Paul has 1 million views in the original video compared to 333K for HBG's measured response and his followup has 452K compared to 141K for this video. Also bear in mind that HBomb was explicitly responding to Paul so a lot of his views could just be people who went there after watching Hbomb's videos.
What's more, the last time Paul did a video whose view count matched his subscriber count was way back in August (aside his videos exploiting the Las Vegas massacre), whereas the last time HBomb failed to do that was in June 2016 (aside from his gaming/film videos). What this shows is that a lot of the subscribers Paul has are just dead accounts (which should come as absolutely no surprise because his target audience is edgy teenagers who for the most part eventually grow up), and on the flip side, Hbomb could perhaps have a lot of "silent subscribers" who are too lazy to click the subscribe button.
Obviously there's still a three to one difference but the latter shows Hbomb's channel is on the rise. Paul I can guarantee you will have faded into obscurity within a year or two.
The problem with PJW is that he's a salesman who's opinions are motivated by his sales. I don't think he's even making an attempt at intellectual honesty.

I think some genuinely believe the things they say, but not because they have thought about it but because it feels enough like it's true and makes the world simpler for them. None of these ridiculous conspiracy theories hold up to any scrutiny, they just require you to want to believe them and not scrutinise them.
This implies that he's an essentially decent bloke whose otherwise rational thinking is slightly swayed by sales objectives, as opposed to being a complete charlatan who peddles extremely malicious and dangerous lies and profits off making the world a worse place to live in.
