The "OOMPH" sound on every shift is such a satisfying thing to hear from these Mercs.
The shifts on a turbo AMG V8 never disapoint.
yep until they brake very soon unfortunately. Also i thought we were over the "hand build" lie. Mercedes in its entire history did not employ enough workers to make that many v8 by hand. They literally made hundreds of thousand of those. Its just a gimmick.

The greenhouse/visibility is absolutely incredible. Such a Mercedes thing.
No b pillar inbetween the side windows is really nice
What really sells me on this car is the space (especially trunk) and comfort that really makes it the perfect Grand Tourer.
It also has plenty of power that will have you faster than 98% of cars on the road
Yup, the people who aren't actually cross shopping this car just focus on it barely losing the 1/4 mile to its competition, because they aren't the ones actually taking long drives in the car

People are so deluded nowadays, it may be .4 seconds or less slower on a quarter mile to a Porsche or something but is that really worth 20k-40k difference in price?

this car is more expensive than an m8 competition, less luxurious/comfortable and spacious than the m8 competition and is SLOWER and less sporty than the m8 competition. the last amg gt was at least unique with its front mid-engine, rwd layout, it was a truly dedicated sports car, but this new amg gt is really just a worse m8 competition.
@@smar1208 this is more luxurious, probably not as stiff of a suspension as an M8, and sounds better and subjectively looks better. I've already seen 3 on the roads so far here in Denver so clearly there's a reason people are picking them over the M8

Coming from a GTS owner, this is right in the ballpark price range. Would be super curious to get a ride in one of these to feel the differences.

I wish Mercedes kept the long bonnet, cabin all the way in the back 2 seater look or at least brought back the SLS. This is definitely a more usable car but doesn't really speak to the previous GT or the SLS.

I'm excited to feel how it drives on the track, the length of the GT-S always made it feel a bit awkward compared to the Porsche's. That being said I really do prefer the look of the GT-S/GTC/GTR, absolute gorgeous body.
I was looking for your comment. I think they completely messed it up by shortening the beautiful long bonnet for 2 extra seats. Now it just looks like any sportscar

We need a head to head comparison video between this and the 911 gts. Gts I suspect would be the faster car but speed is everything to everyone. So yeah my personal opinion it would be an excellent head to head. I love both cars tho. Excellent video as always guy. Keep up the good work! BIG UPS 😊

so everyone's clear this new AMG is now just a Front Engine "GT" car whereas the old AMG was a legit Front-Mid Engine car, so a true configuration intended for Motorsports/Racing and to compete against their Stuttgart Cousins Porsche in the 911 (which it did for the last 8 years). for example, the new $300K Mustang GTD special that just raced LeMans finishing an impressive P3/P4 in the GT3 class on it's debut ALSO uses this same "divorced" Engine/Rear Transaxle configuration expressly for an "end game" of competing against the might of the Rear Engined 911. also ref: Corvette's C7, C6, etc.
Awesome vid - wow, that is an incredible car. And that light show thing, sure not every vehicle could pull that off but it's just the cherry on top of this bad boy. Also agree that spec with the silver over the orangey/red leather is awesome.

After having a 992 911 and falling in love with that driving experience vs the mclarens, ferraris, lambos etc I've driven, it would be hard for me not to take a 911. This almost-objectively looks and sounds better, but i thonk I've fallen too hard for the 992 at this point.
God mercedes V8s sound so good. Albeit the naturally aspirated ones of the prior gens sound god tier but I would love to experience one of these.
FYI, new AMGs sound higher pitched inside because they play simulated induction sounds through the speakers. They started doing this when the OPF filters started getting added to the 4.0 motors

That color interior looks really close to the seat color on the BMW R80 GS and R NineT Urban G/S. Glad I wasn’t the only one who thought it looks incredible on the Benz 🥹
Interior color is very similar to the Sahkir Orange full leather interior w/ CF trim in my F80🔥
V8, turbo, AWD, what is there not to like? I like me a Porsche, but the V8 sound would make me sign on the dotted line. Good review! ;)

That air bladder thing looks like it'll be the first thing to break and be very expensive to fix. I like the look of the older one but I'd probably get an m8 or an LC500 over this

Lc500 is much cheaper and sounds better
The white lc500 with black windows looks so mean
it's different, LC500 is a grand tour car that you can drive across the country very comfortably, while GT63, 911 are sports/super car that you can take it to track.

If there’s one thing Mercedes does well, it’s their exhaust no matter if it’s their 8 cylinders AMGs or 4 cylinder AMGs.
One of my favorite things to do when watching these videos is to try to guess the Horsepower and Torque. I say it out loud
I think the turbine wheels from the 2009 Mercedes McLaren SLR would look good on the AMG GT 63.
Just to clarify - the “Raise Level” button DOES operate a hydraulic lift that raises the front nose by 1.2 inches if the car is equipped with it. It isn’t just the air bladder going up, it’s both, if the car is equipped with it. (I sell them!) Great review guys!
So why didn’t our car lift? Is it a separate option but with the same button?

GT-S Black Series is my go to! They are mean, mean, mean looking! So sharp and aggressive, looks like that will instill confidence up the wazoo on a track.

gorgeous car, and the visibility puts it over the top for me personally (having witnessed a tragedy caused by very low visibility when i was young). Also you can probably get one if you can afford it so in that sense it's for sure better than a 911😄
It looks good, but I think I like the old styling better. Wasn't as smooth, more to the front end than just a massive grill, cooler side vents, and the new 3 dot tail lights are a little weird up close.
With Jakub's wagon wheels photoshopped on, it looks like a baby Maclaren SLR. 🤪

There's also a GT 63 SE Performance (PHEV) with a little more power and a 0-60 of 2.8s not sure of the horse power but its on sale in Europe
