Coincidentally, I watched this video to see what the Michelangelo was after getting wrecked by one. Only to find out it was a video of the game with me getting wrecked. Now I know for next time, it has torpedos and lots of secondaries. Also fairly tanky for a cruiser.
who where you ?
@@Zergling.I would assume he was the Black that got two-tapped by the main guns
@@usssimshullnumberdd-4095 I would assume he was the kronshtadt named icefrogger lol
I was the Kronshtadt. But I did lose all hope when I saw the USS Black player yolo out.
@@Colin-eo9xj as you may be able to tell... I have very poor critical thinking skills lmao. Thanks for pointing it out
Hybrids aside this is the new weirdest ship in the game.
I rather have these hybrids than the CV/BB hybrid. Lol
Michelangelo is rolling in his grave right now
That move on the Halland around the island was one of the funniest moments I've seen!
*Looks at Mir Korabley's Michaelangelo camo... sheds a tear...*
Adopting the 18th century tactic of crossing the T when designing ships now.
Oleg must've left a bottle of vodka behind when Lesta split from WG.
Wow, seeing your secondaries 3 shot the destroyer was wild.. I do wonder if main battery accuracy module may be a better pick. I am definitely going all in for this one, there are plenty of game modes this ship may do well in, same with schroder.. on top of this you never know in the future if WG may give manual secondaries to cruisers or some more universal cruiser secondary buffs, many ppl would regret skipping schroder & Michelangelo.
The DD was like disappeared
after i got the Schroder i only played a few games in it and put it aside. a few months back PQ did a video with it so i took it back out and gave it more of a chance. it has been my most fun to play ship over the last few months, i just love the damage from the secondaries going wild. i already have the Napoli, but this one looks weird, but fun maybe. i hope to see others doing reviews also in the coming days to help me decide if it's worth the 6k dubs.
Schroder with flag I get 12 km secondaries...works very nicely.
I pray for the day we get manual aim for secondaries, period. Like they do in the mobile game. It would make the game that much more interesting.
I was wondering how this ship would be compared to the Schroder I love mine and so glad I got it.
That Halland found himself locked in the non habitable orbit of you secondaries
I do plan on getting this, plus the Napoli once the new coupon comes out tomorrow. Thanks for the vid 😀👍(Just subbed as well)
Looks like a fun and strong secondary cruiser, this dockyard is definitely worth grinding for.
This looks like a bad ship, but a very nice one to play in 3 players division. Imagine 3 of those together sharing smokes, or 2 and a DD spotting. I would be hilarious
Don't usually grind dockyard ships, but this might be worth it. Having a blast with Napoli and this might be something cool in T9 ranked.
Did it got better shoot angle when facing backward / so the ship can doing kite style well ?
reminds me of the old joke : if you gave a BB with only secondaries to KMS mains, they'll enjoy it.
Also if you think that's cursed, I'd definitely like to present you the early sketches for Richelieu, it's the same thing
I would
Yes.
@@Blythe985 according to John Jordan (who's probably one of the best authors on French ships) ; project 5 and 6 bis were carrying two quad 380s in a P-Q configuration with the funnel aft of both turrets and quad 130 mm at A-B and X positions, it was abandoned because overweight to the WT tonnage (35000 tons)
Simply a tanky ship with fast reload high pen small gun( those do /4 pen on HE )
As a new Italian main, I must get for the new best commander to helm.
I’m sorry in advance
I had a bit of asymmetric today with Zieten, bracketing a lot of broadside BB's and cruisers thinking perhaps this ship is all about positioning to be able to use the secondaries, in the meantime roll the dice every 22-25 sec hoping to see a 6. Fast forward a bit and voila, same thing here: all about the positioning. That's your main role, the secondaries will do the shooting and aiming.
Ahh man, I guess I will have no Christmas this year, the memery is strong with this one.
We have Shreder for germans, and now we have one of turtles who fight that ninga... Both are cruisers with sec builds... Hm than Splinter will be cruiser with only sec, without main guns...
5:17
There is no way you should ever get away with a manoeuvre like that with an Incomparable on your broadside. Any normal player would get instantly obliterated... 😆
I think he got lucky and Incomp fired at Groningen
Is there a best way to complete the dockyard? How many hours do i need to realistically spend playing to complete it? Thanks
Wow. what UI mods do you use? I really like the way you make it look. also subbed.
ran into a triple div of testers in them .. they wrecked our A cap in a pain train but i managed to triple cit one for a dev strike before i went down in my Iowa. looks like a decent ship.
Secondary DPM on paper is higher than Napoli, but Max DPM is only in 87 degree angle (55° forward angle, 37° backward angle)
Napoli on other hand has full 135 degree secondary firing angle (20° forward, 25° backward)
Some combine both side ,this one looks working fine as the secondary turret is in middle so it have to choose one side to focus while regular secondary ship can do both side at same time
Appreciate you PQ
0:48 This is why I _never_ buy in at the start. I don't doubt my ability to finish almost any dockyard, but sometimes real life happens and there's no way to catch up.
The positioning of the turrets is similar to that of the great Italian ironclad battleships of the late 19th Century, except that they had their turrets positioned out on the wings to allow head-on fire in pursuit or a ramming attack.
No HE in the guns at all? That might be a deal-breaker for some.
Pretty normal for Italian ships. SAP isn't bad by any means, it just makes you better at handling DD's and Cruisers rather than lighting fires on BB's.
I have a Napoli - which I enjoy playing - I don't think I would play this ship that often with a Napoli in my port...I don't like the main gun angles at all and it isn't worth the grind to get those secondaries IMO
Well, it's a Tier IX tho.
So even if you focus on Napoli in randoms, whats about ranked or brawls ;)
Napoli is a CA, right? This is more of a BC with a mix of the 12.6in guns (that were used on Italy's WW-1 BBs) and the 6in secondaries (as found on more modern Italian BBs). That might change how you should play it. Those weird turret arcs remind me some WW-1 designs, so this is definitely a throwback...or someone's experimental design.
Well now I know why the one I saw in game just liquified to a Montana salvo
Hydro is really nice to have in this ship, if Napoli had hydro too it would be OP as hell.
I guess the Italian Navy never had plans on upgrading to larger than 90mm secondaries
They actually had a plan to mount in the same aa turret a 120mm gun, but WG simply ignores that
Fun video. Also "Full send" means full; What am I missing?
Hey PQ, want to show some love here and want to proposed a comparison ship request: Mackensen vs. PEF
What you think?
Does this thing get improved secondary accuracy because it doesn´t look like it gets it.
That would be an absolute no-no for me when the main guns are this awkward.
I get the feeling this ship could be pretty strong in a T9 ranked/CBs season, similar to Schroder.
This thing has the worst secondary firing angles in the game.
Wait
My ship selection looks different than yours
How can I change to? Can you please tell
Downside compared to the Napoli is that it also burns like a battleship. 60 second fires aint something Napoli has to deal with.
On the other hand that hydro gives it such a massive advantage. Having both a running smoke and a hydro is just as braindead as a regular smoke and a radar. Especially on a secondary build where it doesnt even get spotted as it runs towards you.
that secondary turret spins so fast
Dang, I wonder where they found space for all those engines and boilers
i see your steel and research and coal show on your main port menu...is there a setting for that?
It's a mod you can get from Aslains. Look for something called 'resources' under the 'port' section.
woo new secondary ship!
Honestly I think Napoli is better overall however, Michelangelo is damn good at Tier IX. My only problems are the gun angles and the easy to citadel broadside.
11-inch or 283mm is cut-off for not dealing full damage to DDs. Anything smaller does full damage, while anything of equal or greater size does less.
Main problem is the main guns angles :(
But how is the grind looking? Is it bad?
Its basically a small BB and put into cruiser category with speed buff.
i might actually get michealangelo as my first dockyard ship
So what did it cost altogether in dollars?
I feel that ships of this nature might come with manual secondaries skill built in
Not sure it's the SAP doing overpen dmg or a bug in the dmg/ribbons.
I've been noticing it quite a lot lately, dmg numbers being very inconsistant.
1 example I had yesterday, on a practically full hp BB
first shot 1 pen 5 bounces for 1k dmg (overpen value)
second shot 4 pens and 1 overpen doing 1k dmg as well
Or a few games later with Venezia
first shot 5pens for around 10k dmg
second volley 7 pens for 8k dmg
both with sap
I've even had overpens with a BB do more dmg then the equivalent in full pens.
I know there's a saturation mechanism, but I've seen it happen even on near full hp ships at the start of the match.
There's weird things where shells will do overpen + pen damage.
No clue how it works.
when you hit modules you get 10% damage, its most notable on secondary battery hits
Its about saturation when a ship part saturates(like nose, supersturcture) its takes less damage(about 50%)
@@berk6775 im only saying that 10% damage can also come from module hits
if ship has full HP them only source of 10% damage can be overpen, module hit or coded limit (283mm+ guns AP/SAP vs DD's)
@@arczer2519 i have a lot of things to say about this saturation thing but its not my main language and a cant explain it but i think you get the point
Hey bro do you play any other games?
WG literally too much playing admiral Dreadnought😂
I think is a strange ship, but it is fun to play. have to play it backwards the mains are secondary and u just let the secondary's do all the work.
The main gun placement is a dealbreaker for me. Even the front gun requires 30 degrees angle just to shoot forward.
I have A LOT of ships. 1 tech free ship and 40 or so premium ships. Yeah I know. I’m impulsive, that aside, the Michelangelo is by far and away my favorite ship and I never play it conservatively because that’s not how ya captain her. You must go into harms way and be mindful of your driving more than anything. I love this ship.
a ship so weird. I will get her. she looks fun
It looks weird AF & has MORE hp than Moskva at Tier 9? (by 1k)
1st match very well played for a BB main
I would like it if the turrents were same as napoli but this weird setup is a no from me 😂
Looks better than Napoli tier for tier, doubloons ready!
What are those?!
Madness I tells yeh
Hey I designed this ship in Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts!
The 3.6k base xp probably came from the *2.5 million* potential damage bro
must have!
Thanks for the vid PQ, will give this one a pass
1st dockyard i am going to skip, and with 623 ships in port I think that's saying a lot from a collector. Not my play style.
That first game looked like it had 2.4 mil potential dmg too might have been a reason for the high Bae xp after they fuckered the numbers
Spotting gives the same amount of xp as actual damage now. He had 134k spotting damage while bottom-tier against superships. No doubt the potential damage also contributed, but the spotting likely was more impactful.
I think the hydro is a pretty big advantage over Napoli tbh
I always ignore the dockyard stuff, it's far too scammy to entertain the notion of putting time into.
The Weido ship of Wows
Really said: who needs main guns?
I wonder how many people actually complete the dockyard.
It always depends on the prize.... not going to finish this one
This one is just too weird for me, I have enough trouble figuring out the "normal" ships.
"how full send do you go?" lolol if you have to ask then it's not enough!
They nerfed the sap against submarines because of what happened to that poor destroyer
The way to go when you depend on automated mechanics for damage 😄
Puke-worthy camo. Sadness. 😢
What in the spaghetti name is this ..them main turrets are at the midship💀..first time i ever seen a ship with main turrets not at the fore but in the amidship of the vessel..so weird combo
Michel AngeYOLO
Can they stop giving brawling ships no icebreakers, especially ship lines known for armored cheeks/icebreakers. (Looking at you too german large cruisers)
Ugggg i have a feeling i know wyat im buying for shipsmas. Urrrgggg.
Edit: hmm, maybe not
i have no idea how the first game was 3600 base lol, i have games with 300k dmg and 3 dd kills that merely get over 3000, strang af
Was that Black a shill ?
Thank you. You HAVE TO play a NONE-Secondary build just because. 🙏🙏
Has anyone ever told you that you sound like Dr Hibbert when you laugh?
Holy crab gonna pay a lot for these again
To the be armchair admiral, you should have smoked up around 17:30 you might have survived
If I can’t get the Sistine Chapel camo, I’m out. On a serious note, I wish they wouldn’t bring more of these monstrosities to Tier IX. At some point Tier VII becomes unplayable.
If I still cared enough to give the company any more money: yes, I’d whale this thing and Napoli too if I hadn’t already bought a Napoli.
lil bro in the black 🤣🤣🤣
So ye each salvo you need angle and position ..anything in-game will smash you with a rate of fire ..so no than you :D
so with this ship, you are playing as if your front guns are always knocked out. You can't even rush bow in.
i think it a ship u gonna be deleted in alot given u have show that much side just to shoop useless sap shell
Any ship made around the idea of showing full broadside to make it somewhat useable is really bad in this game. Napoli will still be better imo.
First DY event I'm seriously considering for some time...
easy pass for me, this dockyard ships are weak anyways except for some
The dockyard is the ultimate screw over........As WG makes these missions harder to complete may not complete this stupid ship and getting steel again you may not able to complete it again and pay in advance for the steel would be a total loss. The missions involving commander xp you better have a lot of boosters on hand..........
Its a funny ship but I think its extremely bad, if it was scaled down it would be dogshit even on T6
AI gaming yeah yeah yeah
Weird to put such a meme ship in the dockyard. What is it, an all or nothing close range brawler, but trash armor and 1 set of torps per side? Weegee logic at work.
When you went too aggressive on the second play. I feel like. That's what most players will do in this ship. Me included. Hard pass for me.
I am so sick of secondaries. Having some 45%er in a ship with god tier armor just walk at me and kill me for free with AI gunners got old real fast after Schlieffen came out. And now they can't stop themselves from adding more and more secondaries.
