Being a Christian is awesome! I've only been saved a couple years. I never thought I would or could ever believe in Jesus Christ. What I thought Christianity was is so not what it really is. It's literally walking hand in hand with God as he sheds all the junk off your soul from wallowing in the mud your whole life. It's also not for the faint hearted. But God provides every single thing we need. Even the courage and strength.

@@CountryTenn1365 I don't have the time or motivation to serve you an extensive list that you could find yourself, but i will give some examples.
      - scientific errors
example: Noahs flood story is bs, many science disciplines show this. (most important point, especially under this video)
      - scripture of a god that openly welcomes the deception of 400 of his prophets (1.Kings 22) isn't trustworthy.
      - contradictions
      example: 1 Chronicles 21,1 vs 2. Samuel 24,1
Disclaimer: Given enough desperation, and lack of escalating precision in the texts, every contradiction can be explained away. Example: "I arrived by driving car" vs. "I arrived by walking". There is a contradiction that can easily explained away by combining the two, because no exact times are given for each activity and one arrived can mean the city, while the other arrived means the current location. With religious claims, it is even easier to explain contradictions away, since one can freely assign attributes to elements in the transcendental realm without the possibility to be proven false.
But the point is, that sometimes one has to make ridiculous brain gymnastics to explain a contradiction away.
      - it has been tempered with.
example: Both oldest manuscripts don't contain Mark 16:9-20, without them being destroyed (there is an end phrase in each of them).

For example, many of the passages you quoted are from poetic books (specifically Job, and even the first part of Genesis seems to be a different form of literature, not poetry per say, but likely a poetic introduction to the book). Poetic passages have much more room for interpretation, so Job 38:22-23 (snow and hail) could instead be referring to how God is in control of nature, rather than referring to actual store rooms. Baptize as a baby, went a long to the Church as a young child, grew up with not much and lacking a father added a hole to my heart. In my teens I turned away from the Church, got myself into trouble, lusted after girls, leaving God to his own and finally ending up in jail for a stealing. It seem to me that my life was dark but I could not see any light but I felt a pull.. a pull that when I was teen asked why God didn't love me. 20 years later from my teens days, I meant a woman with a heart of gold and not like any other woman I have even met. I was working but I was angry and always felt alone but she didn't care. I could not understand what she liked about me, I was not in my best head. Yet, she stayed with me and we hung out, went to dinner and just hung out. I again felt this tug on me and my mind and soul told me to walk it the Church of my youth. I was scared but when I heard the scriptures, my heart ached with pain, my mind ran with thought and I felt like the Lord was speaking right to me. My heart beat fast and when I left, I thanked the Lord our God for not leaving me and allowing me to hear his voice. Today, that woman is my wife, we are Catholic and we both went on a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land... When I was there, the Lord kept on speaking to me and today as I write this I hear his voice and I get all the answers. I'm on a journey where I also now read the Latin Vulgate and now found your channel. Thank God for you, your knowledge and your sharing of his wisdom.

One thing that bothers me as a Christian is how come, God, did not add to the Bible anything related to modern scientific discoveries. Imagine if we would have a simple verse somewhere in Ecclesiastes or Job that would go like this: "do you know that man too was an animal ancient of times ago" or another verse that would say "from a life on the palm of your hand so small you cannot see, to distant stars so far away you cannot see, all grew from one and the same seed ancient of times ago"
These two simple verses would immediately, without any doubt, indicate Big Bang Cosmology and Evolution. Yet we have nothing like that found in the Bible and because of that when scientists began to discover, through science, the reality that the world is billions of years old or that life evolved, the Bible began to be less and less relevant in scientific circles.

With the inertia he has in his looking for Western psychology to find solutions, I'm not holding my breath for him to set a next (spiritual) step. Maybe when he's much older.

Fathers of *modern science.* Empiricism, scientific method, repetitive experimentation, strive to know more whatever the cost.
Those in Ancient Greece thought they could "deduce" the world. They got many truths, but also many falsehoods.
The Arabs got stuck with the ancient Greco-Roman approach to philosophy (not worth calling science, I think). The Chinese were stuck to the abstract, and neglected the experimentation. The few Chinese that experimented, did it for a practical benefit (e.g. transmute gold) instead of for the sake of learning, which is an essential mentality for modern science.
The ones in the modern age are off-topic. But even then, up until the late 19th century, it was rare for someone that wasn't religious to get into science. It happened, but was rare. Among Catholics, the mentality of science to be a form of worship still persists in some form, with people like Georges Lemaître (physicist, professor and first proponent of the Big Bang Theory) being Catholic priests full stop, that ventured into science with the purpose to glorify God. But not like these are relevant, this video is about the ORIGINS of MODERN science.
The Fathers of modern science were all Christian. You're free to name one that wasn't, go ahead.

But the short version is : the reason why the scientific revolution is depicted as being against the church is because it was, Descartes, Gassendi, Pascal, Bacon, Boyle, all were listed on the "index librorum prohibitorum", which means they wrote books that were forbidden by the church.
If you read Bacon, you will see that he is very critical of Aristotle, who was the core of scholastics of the time, and embraced the outlook of Democritus, who was a pre-socratic materialist.
Bacon explains that no school of thought before him had come closer to explain nature than the ancient materialists... Which is one of the reason why the church was against him...
The mechanistic model and the corpuscular theory, which were at the basis of the scientific revolution (see Galileo), are both taken directly from the ancient school of Leucippus, which is materialism... That's why it is "against the church".

It was in realizing then that where the rubber met the road would be in "origins" = Life was either accidental or Created...!
It was then in my Environmental Major study's where my pot belly'd 4 credit hr course Phd Cornell professor got down to it explaining to us his taught and passed on belief in "the origins of life"...!
It took him all of 2 minutes to explain that ~
"science figures that chemicals washed together in an ancient sea where the first living cell emerged - then evolution took over"
I'd then easily figured for myself later that day by Probability and Statistical Analysis that this was UTTERLY IMPOSSIBLE to any thinking mind and in true fashion equated to what I was taught in medieval times as 'spontaneous generation'...!
That being opposed to "Immaculate Conception" could not be both nor a combination and in realizing the utter stupidity in this of so the called "learned men of science meant everything after the impossibilty of 'accidental life' hd to be majorly flawed...!
But these were "advanced societal leaders in science" how could it be...!
Then it took my personal quest for real answers over time that brought to Light both the Godly truths of real science and the intentional disimformation imbedded into higher learning; esp as with historical & political truths by massive ommissions...!
It was "who controlled the kingdoms of this world" and esp the monetary control with its "filthy lucre" being the "Love of money is the root of all Evil" easily buying allegiances where needed to own mankind...!
ie = the owned Globalist Bankster cabal or "Unseen Hand" orchestrating it all out of sight and mind of everyday people in everyday life...!

The rest is the unfolding of His ministry, His New Covenant and the New Testament then written by His Apostles in the battle for the hearts, minds and soul of mankind still in progress as His command to preach the Gospel went and now is worldwide tho ths Darkside has never stopped esp seen in the advent of RCC - Islam + then Atheist MarXist Communism cloaked in Govmint Socialism as well as blatant materialism all leading to disrespect for Life once it was bury'd in Humanistic Hedonism's warped immoral unfolding as openly seen today...!

It could be argued that the main if not the only motivation for the invention of written language was the want to formalize religious texts lest they become corrupted over time and to help keep people singing from a similar hymn sheet, so to speak. Also that these religious texts soon became the main motivation for others to learn how to read them. Otherwise, education itself would have either been greatly held back or still not really gotten off the ground.
IMO, Sir Francis Bacon was not only the greatest thinker of his age but of All Ages. However, his writings contain a dire warning. He discussed the very real possibility of corrupted science. When science is used against the interests of man, not in his interests.
IMO, science has been progressively corrupted by Atheists who don't seek to emulate God but to completely replace him with their exclusive one-will vision for humanity. This abomination has gone under a variety of names however the most commonly used are, Socialism, Fascism, and Communism. This has now matured to the point where all governments are now operating under one of these systems of control to a great or greater extent. The word of God does not even dominate in what is called theocratic states these days.
To prevent this from happening Sir Francis put forward the concept of what later became the Royal Society. However, it has now come to pass that even this has also become utterly corrupted by atheistic, or materialist dogma, some know as scientism. Bacon strongly advised us to avoid all 'isms, this being the very hallmark of corrupted science.

@@sandman1133 I have a comment under this video in which I go into detail regarding the philosophical claims.
Regarding the historical claims : the reason why the scientific revolution is depicted as being against the church is because it was. Galileo, Copernicus, Descartes, Pascal, Bacon, Boyle, all were listed on the "index librorum prohibitorum", which means they wrote books that were forbidden by the church.
If you read Bacon, you will see that he is very critical of Aristotle, who was the core of scholastics of the time, and embraced the outlook of Democritus, who was a pre-socratic materialist.
Bacon explains that no school of thought had come closer to accurately describe nature than the ancient materialists... Which is one of the reason why the church was against him...
The mechanistic model (Descartes, Gassendi, Newton) and the corpuscular theory (Galileo, Bacon, Boyle), are both inspired by the ancient school of Leucippus, which is materialism... That's why it is "against the church".

Because I read the book of Kings, and I noticed that Muhammad is guilty of all the sins of the disobedient kings that were seen as evil. He delivered demonic prophecies to prove he was a false prophet, he engaged in polytheism, thus setting up 2 golden calves in his land (sins of Jeroboam), he did things to Aisha that would be labeled as "an ABOMINATION to God", and much, much more. So, I would like to see a video by you on the topic: 'What if Muhammad made it into the Book of Kings?' Aisha was essentially 'betrothed' to Muhammad, a practice that was extremely common across Christian Europe until just a couple centuries ago. e.g. Queen Catherine (of Argon) was betrothed to Prince Arthur at THREE years of age. Hundreds more examples. That does not mean he was having sex with her before the customary age of marriage/consent.

    • @Liquid_Atlas
      @Liquid_Atlas Před rokem

@@deeder001 That's crap. In Medieval Europe, the man and woman would both have to say "I do" for the marriage to be consummated, unlike in Islam where the woman has no say in the matter, and is literally viewed as her father and husband's property. In Medieval Europe, the man and woman had to be over the age of 13 and have gone through puberty in order to be married, where under Islamic law, the man can be in his 40's while the "wife" is 9 years old as was in the case of Muhammad and Aisha. In Islam, the woman must submit to the sexual desires of her husband while she is still prepubescent, even if her sexual organs are ruptured by the act. Furthermore, the example you use is of a noblewoman (Catherine of Argon), and the elite had seperate rules for marriage than commoners, so examples of marriage in the elite of Medieval Europe doesn't really represent marriage in the common class. Commoners and members of the Elite were not allowed to intermarry, so that rules out the possibility of child marriage in average Medieval Christian households.
The world wasn't perfect back then, and I'm not trying to defend the barbaric practices of Medieval Europeans, but then again, the Muslims are still engaging in so called "medieval barbaric practices" (If you can even call it a Medieval practice) such as child marriage, slavery, terrorism, among other barbarism like dropping homosexuals off of rooftops and forcing women to pray in seperate sections of mosques than men. Muhammad does not advocate his followers to forgive and love one other like Jesus does, and that is the central difference between the two religions. This is why Christendom succeeded in history while Islam fell behind.

One of the reasons I like D. Wood is that he doesn't feel the need to show off by using "big" words. Carl Sagan was like that. Saying things in such a way that the layman can comprehend.

Asking why scientists believed in god .
Is like asking why the people who invented cars didn't rode cars them self. Yes many pioneer of the scientific revolution was believers. Because in that time science was still in it's infancy. Newton or bacon didn't knew anything about evolution did they. Also this is no excuse for all the scientific errors in the bible.

@@celestialsatheist1535 oh my dear brother or sister, how wrong you are! Scientific theories are NOT truth. They are just what they're called... theories. You cannot count ANY measurements of ANY particles/elements for longer than the age of the machine taking the measurements. The basic meaning of evolution is false. Every single living being would be gone that came before us. We would never have all of these different "organisms" or " clumps of cells" at the same time. When that fell through, they came up with "micro" evolution. It's like they just can't help themselves from making up false science just to disprove a higher power. Science has completely stopped trying to find the truth. They are now trying to disprove God instead.
The bible is the living, breathing Word of God, sharper than any two edged sword. It is our life guide to everything that can possibly come our way.
I'm not going one by one with your list, but you must know how to read the bible. From your comment, you don't. The prophetic books (Daniel, Revelation, Isaiah, etc), are not to be taken literally. There's a code to go by when reading... Woman=church, 1day=1yr, waters=multitudes of people, and so on. Read the bible in the mindframe of the time it was written, as a historical book. From cover to cover, it shows the ultimate love of God, how much He tries to show us the way, keeps forgiving, keeps giving, THEN gives the ultimate gift to show us His truth... HIMSELF, on the cross.
Clear your mind of ALL preconceived notions or beliefs (or disbeliefs 😊). Read it to understand it, not disprove it. The bible will show you the greatest love of all... Our Creator for His created. You may disagree with things in the bible, but you can't disprove it. To me, the bible is the greatest love story ever told! I'm sorry you don't see it that way. It's right there if you open your mind and heart to it. I love you brother! I hope you take the time to learn instead of just try and disprove. If you let it, the bible WILL show you absolutely everything you need to know about God, life, death, eternity, the earth, ALL of it. God bless you brother, LOVE BOLDLY! ❤️✝️

@@Jesusfreak322 It appears that I have hit a solid wall . The word theory has different implications in scientific terms. The word theory simply means explaination. Theory is the mean by which facts are derived from.
Things fall toward the ground that's a fact.
      Gravity is that explaination.
People get sick. That's a fact
      Germ Theory is that explaination.
      Evolution is a fact.
      Natural selection is the explanation.
Science is not the truth it's finding the Truth. You are dead wrong on the first words.

@@celestialsatheist1535 I'm sorry but evolution has never been a fact. Evolution is an incredibly weak excuse to disprove intelligent design. The very author questioned its validity. With evolution, the old species dies off. We don't have that at all. We have nearly countless amounts of species alive at the exact same time, from ocean amoeba to human beings. It's common sense. You also can't count on ANY aging of any element or matter that's older than the year the machine or test itself was created. That's also common sense.
And I'm sorry, I keep forgetting meanings of words are changing by the day. Theory in science did mean something different 45+ years ago. The Hypotheses of natural selection and evolution can never be proven. Just like I can never physically prove to you that God exists.
We can hopefully agree to disagree. I do hope you take my advice about reading the bible, I promise Christ will change you forever! Thanks for the talk and being gracious with me 😊 I wish you well, take care!
