When Jordan left the game in 94, and Pippen was the man he was throwing chairs on the court because he couldn't handle the pressure. Grant even said in an interview that Pippen didn't understand the pressure that MJ had to face every night because they were shielded from it, and Pippen failed to appreciate that. Even Phil made Kukoc the man to take winning shots because Pippen can't handle the pressure. While we can appreciate Pippen for his defensive prowess, when it comes to closing games he is no superstar, he has choked on shots, free throws etc, just like Lebron he is more of an opportunistic scorer who gets shots off having shooters and scorers take off the pressure off him.

That 93-94 team was so strong, too. They got 3 new Centers to help cover their biggest weakness (Luc being 1 of them) and of course picked of Kukoc and Kerr while still having BJ, Grant, Cartwright and a fading Paxson to pass on the torch. People try to use that year to say MJ was overrated, but they never do their research into the team acquisitions.

@@kkbaby30 What happened to Bulls in '93-'94 is the 'championship effect'. They were fresh from winning their 1st 3 peat. MJ left them as winners not losers. So the morale and confidence is high. The team also implement a team system aka the triangle offense. This is the same thing that happened to '19-'20 Toronto Raptors. Kawhi Leonard is the mvp of that team and as we all know he left the raptors after winning the championship for the clippers. The Kawhi-less but high moraled, confident, and well coached raptors won 50+ games that season and like the bulls in '94, made it to the second round and lost in game 7. The loss of MJ for the Bulls and Kawhi for the raptors became visible the season after, when the bulls and the raptors became mediocre teams. Alot of people dont realize this because it is VERY RARE for a superstar to retire or leave the team after winning a championship. Normally u retire if father time already caught up and u cant perform at high level anymore. Or u leave the team bec you were beaten badly in the playoffs or finals and u want to start over with a new team.

If he really wanted to paint Scottie in a bad light, there are so many ways to do it.
He could've pointed out he scored montrous numbers in Scottie's first 3 seaons while Scottie was a role player and going deep in the playoffs, hence destroying the "can't win without Pippen narrative".
He could also have debunked the "Scottie defended Magic" narrative in 91.
He could have pointed out he almost doubled Pippen's points in the finals on much better efficiency.
Finally, he could've reminded people that Scottie's very unclutch. His infamous 2 point game 7 vs Pistons, building a new house with his bricks in 96 finals and straight up disappeared in game 5 & 6 in the 98 finals. Not to mention his offensive game was so inconsistent, he could give you 30 one night and then 8 points in the next.
But Jordan didn't do any of that, because that man is his brother. Too bad the feelings aren't mutual

Born in 83... scottie was the player i looked up to most & kinda played like him as a kid. Obviously, mj was still my fav & the best but i didn't emulate mj on the court, i played more like scottie- quiet, scrappy, intense defense etc.
After watching last dance & hearring scottie double down on his refusal to go into the game cause kukoc was given the last shot disturbed me.
I heard scottie once say lebron was better than mj all around- that also disturbed me.
I'll be honest- after hearing him call mj horrible before pip arrived is bananas. I dont recall the 80s, my mj memories begin vs phx suns in finals. After mj first retirement, i specifically remember asking my pops is mj coming back, he said slim chance, & i absolutely remember being overjoyed when mj returned & i remember thinking yes! my pops was wrong!
With all that said- i didn't watch the bulls during mj's retirement. I didnt see it live when pip refused to enter the game... so to see it in the last dance & hear pip's excuse was heartbreaking cause i could not believe for all those years as a kid i looked up to a mitchbade person, cause as an adult now i think scottie is a true mitch.
He called phil racists fir choosing kukoc over pip for last shot. Idk bout u but i remember kukoc being a tall ass, deep 3 hitter, a better shooter than pip- so once again pip's comments bothered me, phil is no racists.
I understand pip is going thru it personally, but gd man he is losing supporters & fans like me.
I got mad jordan shoes, got one pair of pip's uptempo kicks- but i don't want any more scottie apparel.
Phil is racists- mj was horrible-- im done with scottie.
I hope mj DOES NOT join the party & bash scottie. Hope mj takes the high road & maybe go visit scottie & talk face to face (televised reuinion would be tv gold) & get out all the frustrations.
Scottie is losing fans & maybe his place in nba history.
In conclusion- wtf did scottie do without mj? Nada.

MJ quote, "I didn't win without Scottie Pippen, and that's why I consider him my best teammate of all time, Jordan went on to say. "Whenever they speak Michael Jordan, they should speak Scottie Pippen evidently ran with that quote when saying MJ was a "horrible player" before he joined the Bulls. Pure bitterness! Owner Jerry Reinsdorf and general manager Jerry Krause refused to renegotiate Pippen's deal, instead taking advantage of his minuscule cap number to put championship rosters around Pippen and Michael Jordan.
Pippen's frustrations colored his entire tenure with the team through his eventual departure in a 1999 sign-and-trade with the Houston Rockets. So how did the Bulls manage to underpay Pippen for so long? The answer is depressingly simple. None of the modern rules that protect both owners and players from bad contracts existed in 1991. The modern cap is an extremely complex mechanism. The original cap was not. The league set a number based on its basketball-related income. Teams were not allowed to exceed that number unless they did so to re-sign their own players. Essentially, those were the only guidelines governing contracts at the time. Pippen is taking his anger and frustrations out on Michael and his problems are much greater than MJ's. Scottie needs to focus on what he can do differently as opposed to blaming others.

Awesome video! To the 1985 Rookie of the Year award and the scoring title of 1987, I would add MJ's accomplishments before he got to the NBA. These are NCAA champion in 1982, gold medal in the Panamerican Games in 1983, gold medal in the Olympic Games in 1984, and national college player of the year award in 1984 (and 1983 from Sporting News). Michael was a winner and an international basketball star already as a college player, and that should be remembered too. On the other hand, 7.9 ppg Pippen did not even make the all-rookie team, and before that, he was a nobody who didn't even play in the NCAA but in the minor college league NAIA. PS. There is also a small error in the video: Pippen became All-Star in the 1989-1990 season, his third, not in 1988-89 as in the video. In 1988 the Bulls lost to the Pistons in 5 in the ECSF, in 1989 in 6 in the ECF, and in 1990 in 7, when Pippen had the migraine and 1-10 fg.
