Today, I'm comparing cheap vs expensive pointy toe pumps. I've always had my eye on the iconic Jimmy Choo Romy pumps. I finally purchased my first pair, but wanted to see if I could find some great dupes that are very reasonable in price. Honestly some of these high heels are so comparable. How much do you usually spend on high heels?

Is it just me or do the more pink ones look a lot nicer with her skin tone then the yellow toned ones?

Personally, I would never pay $500+ for shoes. I've gotten some decent pumps for less than $30 and they look and last pretty well, too. I'm usually up and down at work so they have to be very comfortable as well. Good video!

The thing is, you should never buy shoes at a premium, at least for common colored shoes like black and nudes. Even Jimmy Choos can be had for less then $500 if you know where to look for them. You cannot go wrong with Jimmy Choo, even at premium prices, as I have several pairs of them and they are comfortable. Personally like the Abel over the Rommy style, due to the way the heels are positioned and the sharper pointy toes. The Anouk style of Jimmy Choo is nice as well.
I really liked the blush shades better. Something about the Jimmy Choo made me think "older" or that they actually looked like the cheapest pair. I'll spend $700 on a bag but not shoes. those sam adleman shoes looked MASSIVE next to the Jimmys
Mix No 6, looked amazing! they looked like a good fit.also, every shoe you compared looked so big when it was side by side to the Jimmys.I hope you kept the Jimmys
Did these jimmy choo's come in any other shades? Only thing I would say is that maybe you should go for a different shade of nude, maybe with some slightly peach/pink tone to it, it would look like a true nude on you. These tan ones are too warm for you in my opinion. They show up more like a mustard tan.
That is one consideration everyone needs to look at, the shade of the shoes. :)
keepinitreal I completely agree, I felt they were the wrong color for her skin, too yellow/brown! The other colors were beautiful with her skin tone!
I’m going to start by saying I absolutely LOVE these videos, they’re so helpful!! And typically if the shoe is going to be a staple and worn all the time, I’ll splurge a little more. But if they’re statement shoes and I know I won’t wear them much, I’ll typically go for the cheaper ones.

Love this video, really thorough. Have to say I much preferred the more pinkish (mix no 6) option with your skin colour, but maybe that’s just me.

This was Very informative. I ended up with the Sam Edelman Hazels for myself. One huge selling point for me (besides fit and comfort) was the fact they they came in a wide width. Awesome series! I'm so excited that I've stubbled upon this. Can't wait to see what's next.

I think I would have preferred a comparison of shoes in the successive price ranges, instead of comparing everything to a pair of $600 jimmy choo’s... I might be able to afford something a bit more expensive than usual if it’s worth it, but no way in hell will I spend that kind of money on a pair of pumps.

I love this series, keep them coming! I hate to say that the Jimmy Choo were my favorite pair with the exception of the color (starts plan to save 💰💵 for said shoe anyway). I wish they were like the Sam Edelman. Personally of all the shoes, that was the best nude color.

I prefer to splurge and invest because generally the fit and quality is so much better. But with that being said, I do love me a good deal ;)
Very informative! I'd never spend $600 on a NEW pair of Jimmy Choo's, but I might spend $75 on a pair that has only been worn once or twice from Poshmark. 😉

Your comparing videos help me realize I really should invest in my wardrobe a bit more. For my everyday winter shoes I actually have a bit pricier shoes (120€ which is an investment for me) and that have lasted for maybe almost four years already and still look great. In summer I use Converse, not those cheap 10€ ones but original. But for heels I usually buy cheaper ones because I use them maybe like 3 times a year or so, so it's not worth paying a fortune.
Yeah, quality shoes do last much longer, most of the time. :)

I wonder if the leather will stretch? I'd like a follow up on that....some people can only afford the $30 ones, so to me it's great they make knock off in all price points. But hey, I shopped at Payless way before it was cool! Lol

I love this series, please keep it going. I have learned that a shoe can make ore break your outfit depending in the fit and quality can boost up your conference and make you look better opposed to wearing cheaper uncomfortable shoes that can ruin the most beautiful night. So yes, most of the time I choose quality over quantity.

Whatever the pricepoint, you have to be happy with the purchase! I personally spend a lot on shoes, but I don't own a lot (9 pairs including workout and winter boots). Over the course of a day, synthetic materials aren't as breathable as real leather. I agree with your observations and comments-- upon close inspection, the details and finishing on a more expensive pair of shoes is much better quality compared to inexpensive verions, but on your foot, the details may not be so obvious from a distance. Even among luxury brands, fit and colour options will vary-- personally, I found Jimmy Choos too short in the toe box for me, but Manolos have always been a great fit. I really enjoy your comparisons! Great work!

jimmy choo shoes look stunning on the feet, can't deny that. but $600 for leather shoes is a robbery my dear. there's like $100 of production + shipping costs, and $500 of brand. there are crafstmen who make shoes, you can find one and ask about shoe production costs.

I'm a guy who wears heels all the time. The maddens in my opinion are better looking. I own and wear Madden heels a lot. Some are incredibly comfortable and sturdy, others not so much. I would expect the Jimmy Choo pumps to outlast your Madden pumps, but at 10 times the price I know I'd take 10 pair of maddens over one pair of choos or loubitines.
I'm an engineer as well, design, build and qualify products for aerospace applications and understand cost/quality comparisons and for the price value equation Steve Madden, Nine West, Cole Hann etc all have it over the highest end designer brands. By the way, my one pair of Loubitines are no longer wearable because they over stretched, something I have never had a problem with the makes I mentioned.

be interesting to compare the durability as well. its one thing to try on a shoes for a few minutes, but how does that shoe hold up over time? The $500 shoe might stretch out very quickly, so you pay $500 for one month's worth of wear which would make it a bad deal any way you look t it.

If the Jimmy Choo's were in more of a pink shade like the Steve Madden's or even the Sam Edelman's... then it would be 100% perfect.. !!! P.S. definitely prefer matt look to the more patent shoes.. ;)

Have to say Prada nude is much better looking nude than any other brands. Actually for jimmy choo, 65mm is 10 times more comfortable than 100, without loosing the elegant look from heel height.
I don't wear high heels at all never have. Just not my style I guess I don't know I'm very clumsy and off balance I also don't wear dresses don't know why either Lol. Also no shorts I wear capris, I spend about $4 on flip flops that's last me like 3 summers and splurge on mukluks spending $200 for REAL hand made shoes every winter (I'm Canadian it literally was snowing April 30th)

I can't wear high heels that's what we call them here in the uk, I'd never pay a huge amount for a pair of shoes, I'm flat footed and shoes don't last me long.
We call them that in America too.
Steven Madden usually makes very cheap looking shoes.
