in this video i get along with my parents
Gus Johnson plays all sorts of characters, from Mitchell Robbins to JK Rowling to some guy in God's Country to Imbiamba Jombes to filming videos with his mom to pillow guy to the my pool guy to small town reviews to how they use shotguns in movies to the tough kid growing up to your friend who has a knife to spotify ad guy to the how they use shotgun to the gus johnson shotgun to if i was frozone... I don't know why I am writing this in third person. I am Gus. I wrote this. My brother is Sven Johnson, that guy's alright. Guys, if you put all this dumb stuff in the description, it helps your videos. isn't that wild?
Thanks for watching and sharing! Don't stab people. I'll see you later. - Komedie

Hi
hello gus
@@swiggysharkhi
@@FBI8625hello
I live midwest...
If someone says they have "cable".
RUN.
The saying goodbye just to double back into the conversation is too fucking accurate 1:28
As a midwesterner, I can agree
my parents: we're leaving now "starts talking"
at this point i knew i had at least 15 more minutes to play
Called the midwestern goodbye. Say goodbye in the house, on the sidewalk out to the car, and again before getting in the car. Then you have to wave as you drive off.
Maybe I'm a displaced midwesterner
Don’t wanna seem rude like I don’t remember he got that new tv so I gotta ask how he’s liking it. I’m from the south and it’s how we get trapped in conversations too
The only unrealistic part: They were talking for 8 hours, and no one offered him a cold beverage 😂
rofl pro comment
unrealistic part: they're acting like Canadians claiming this is the mid-west.
@CircumcisionIsChildAbuse never been to Meenuhsotah huh?
@@CircumcisionIsChildAbuse never been to Meenuhsotah huh?
@@imonphyt is that south of Toronto eh? no one in canada knows what exists south of toronto don'tcha know.
As a certified Wisconsinite, that is the fastest Midwest conversation ever
I'm going to assume speaking to a Wisconsinite is like the owl from Legend of Zelda, except you can't even attempt to skip the coversation.
It actually bothered me watching the Netflix Dahmer show because no one ACTUALLY talks like that in Wisconsin. The above video is also exaggerated obviously but it's like they take the accent from Bob & Doug Mackenzie from Strange Brew which is supposed to be a Canadian accent and think that's how people talk like that down South for some reason.
Minnesota is better
@@pyrosteel5091 especially when it comes to playing dirty in football
8 hours is the fastest conversation?
I've been a long time fan and I cannot remember a time when both mom and dad Johnson are in the same skit. What a treat!
i believe they both had an appearance in the christmas video
the video about cheesy action one liners has Gus momma and poppa in the sketch
I think there's one on hot food as well, but that could be Sven's
There were both in the video, When people in Hollywood movies fall
They were both great in "Hay" lol
The good old Midwestern goodbye. It starts in the house, moves to the garage, then out to the car, then through the car window, then finally ends under one of several circumstances:
1.) The people talking get too cold (winter months only)
2.) The people talking begin to be eaten by mosquitoes (warm months only)
3.) The people talking realize its past the kids bedtime (all year)
The TRUTH 😂
Italians have the same thing.
They're out the door one minute, next two hours is them sipping their sixth espresso of the night, reminiscing about how Carlo used to steal gas from the neighborhood priest's car. Good times.
Irish goodbye is where it’s at
@@n8archy121 As an Irish person I find the Irish goodbye thing ironic. Irish people take hours to say goodbye.
This is scary accurate. Sometimes even after it's decided that it's too cold or there are too many mosquitos and it's time to get going, there's still a solid 10-15 minutes of conversation afterwards
That was some intense back and forth between Gus and the Sharks. I can't wait for the next 8-hour episode to see if they convince him to take their money.
What a great spin on the idea lol.
Less of a "Shark Tank" and more of a "Grain Silo."
Sven looks like the type of person that would wear a baseball uniform to play golf
"ya, so? What's wrong with that?" 😂😅😊
haha dude pro comment
Gus acting like Gus in this episode was perfect
As a Michigander, I can confirm that all that was missing was a sound in the background of a dog barking, a mourning dove or red-winged blackbird, or a gunshot.
Plus there’s gonna be couple lawnmowers running on that nice a day.
I live in Canada in Windsor, just across from Detroit, and even here I can hear these EXACT accents from certain people.
And don't get me started on the county areas on the outskirts of the city, where you can for sure hear the noises you referred to 😂
Ti Michigander, ja Balijander 🇧🇦
In Michigan I don’t think they can hunt doves but if you’re in other states, the sound of mourning doves and gunshots in September are related.😂
Seconded.
Man those are some of the toughest investors I've ever seen, they really made you work for it
Another certified neighborhood classic!
Naming dogs after gun manufacturers will always be my favorite Midwestern tradition
Polite, and genuinely enjoys talking about the weather.
Very Midwest.
Bone dry
His dad offering him the 3 dollars he had in his wallet was the best part lol
I like how any representation of the midwest accent is usually a mix of cliche canadian mixed with irish.
My sister’s wife is from Iowa and upon meeting her family even from Iowa this is accurate.
It was supposed to be a quick lunch at their house…how did they cook dinner without us noticing
The midwest goodbye got me watching this on loop 😅
As a midwest person myself, I can agree
This has got to be one of your best videos Gus. My wife and I had a real hoot and holler to this one. Thank ya there sport. Appreciate ya.
How are your folks doin?
idk about Gus but tell your folks I says hi
@@nastybigJim Will do now Sport, much appreciated. Safe travels now, ya hear!
As someone from Chicago it's kind of weird to consider the entire Midwest as more rural but when you really think about it, that's how it is and we're the odd ones out lol
As a fellow Chicagoan, I feel this. However this Midwestern vibe can be felt via the grandparents and elders.
Chicago is indeed a hell scape
Read Chicago in that accent
@@ViktoriousDeadyes Chicago is bad - but Detroit is so much worse. Never go to Detroit, ever. At least Chicago has some cool stuff and places you are able to safely walk around. The safe part of Detroit is a very small section of downtown and a few suburbs, everything else is awful.
@@scudbucket_ None of chicago is safe. Don't be stupid
"Gotta let Winchester out the kennel"
Loving the continuity here
Now only if we got to see the full Midwest goodbye they had during that 8 hours 🤣
This is terrifyingly similar to any conversation I'd hear at a family gathering. Yes, I am quite surrounded by cornfields
Gus' Shark Tank skit is so majestic they made Shark Tank in real life about it, truly inspirational
youre in the comments of everything im watching
Insane that it all can be traced back to this verbal odyssey of an 8-hour long pilot
0/5 comment overused setup
I love that the idea was apparent less than a minute but it continued to play out just as brilliantly as it started.
if you don't name your kid after a gun brand you gotta name your dog after one
I just had a family gathering here in WI over the weekend and this was pretty much the exact experience, good job gus.
There's 3 stages to leaving a get-together.
1. Saying goodbye where you're sitting and getting up to go.
2. Following you to the front door to finish the conversation then say goodbye again.
3. Walking you to the car and finishing conversations started at the door then saying goodbye.
The good ol' Midwestern Polite-off
The whole family lmao 😂😂😂
This skit is a certified Midwest classic.
i know this might make me sound like an old lady but i bet those parents are so proud of raising such clever and funny boys 😂
*slaps legs* WELP, I guess we should be heading out.
Yeah, I suppose.
It's a crime you didn't get Charlie Berens in on this skit
fr
Literally heard ‘Ass-over-teakettle’ grabbing gas at a Columbus Kroger yesterday 😂. I’m from Philly but after 10 years in the mid west I gotta say I love it here
If you're in wisconsin they are definitely offering him a cold beer right away 😂
Living in the midwest is truly one the experiences of all time.
Jesus, I literally felt like I was hanging out with the family at a potluck.
i thought the goodbye part was everywhere. guess i really live a sheltered Michigan life
its so funny how easily they go off track!
I live in the Midwest and I'm from the Northwest.
I don't bother with the Midwest goodbyes. I tell people I'm leaving and I tell them how nice it was being there, I give them some compliments, and leave.
I've been told it's rude and I still don't care. I'm not wasting my time saying goodbye and dragging my feet for an hour or two while they prattle on about someone I know and don't give a damn about.
Midwesterners (especially Michiganders I think) actually enjoy talking about the weather because 1) it’s nice and polite and 2) our weather is so wild that you always have things to talk about lol
I love how he went on the show with the expressed purpose of getting funding, and he just spent 2 minutes telling them not to worry about funding him 😂😂😂
If you find yourself talking after saying goodbye, then it's too late. You've just caught yourself in a midwestern long goodbye. I've had a few family members perish that way
I'm glad I just came back from the midwest a couple weeks ago to fully understand how accurate this is
First pitch: Flannel shirt with flannel lined on the inside.
Second pitch: flannel pants lined with flannel on the inside.
Third pitch: flannel shoes with flannel lined on the insides.
I'm shocked Charlie Berens hadn't come up with this idea yet. It's right up his alley. But man, you sure nailed it, Gus!
I forgot this was a comedy skit for a second cause this is literally what it's like talking to my family 🤣
Yeah, she fell a few months back. Yeah, a real AZZ over tea-kettel situation! favorite line and Glad to see dad got off the roof.😂
I'm from Michigan and this is accurate
As a person form the middle of the midwest this a 100% factual
“And fer dat reason, imma have ta say yeah no”
I would love to see a longer form of this skit! great stuff Gus!!
You missed the “welp!” At the end of the conversation. True staple in the Midwest
G'dangit, Gus. I love your videos with your family so friggin much.
And as a fellow mustache having rural midwesterner, these kinds of Johnson family collabs hit just the right spot for me.
mentioning it had been 8 hours at the end to properly convey what ACTUALLY happened is the frosting on this dawgon spot-on cake 😂
Hey ya want some rhubarb before ya go? I just got some that popped up in the garden. Asparagus is blooming late this year, but you can take some of those home when they’re ready to go too.
I guess people in the Midwest sound Canadian now
“Don’t say boogers” had me
So freaking good. You rock, Gus.
Gosh that was recorded on such a gorgeous day.
Good to see ya
It was a bit dry though, I tell ya what. I remember a year or so back, it seemed to rain dang near every day in the summer. It's like this summer's just tryin' ta make up for that, ya know?
@@DragnSly oh boy do I ever. I’ll just be thankful my feet hit the floor each morning. Best to ya!
this is one of my fav Gus sketches, g-dangit
The midwestern accent was perfect! It's like I was watching Fargo.
Completely accurate. Bye means I'll leave after a few hours of talking and standing on the porch like instead of inside
I really love your desk videos!!!
you can just taste the tension
As a born and raised Californian midwest goodbyes are no joke. Had a family friend that would regularly take 30+ minutes to make it from the house to their car when leaving.
I felt this in my (Canadian) Midwest bones.
As a Minnesotan, I can say this is 100% accurate
Goddamn do I want to be invited to the Johnson family reunions now
Anytime his parents are on, they are just gems!
God what a cool family.
Ah yes, the Midwest Goodbye
Surprised to see the Johnson family stay in character this well
even at home BY MYSELF i still can’t get away from the never ending conversation
Because it’s Gus I can’t tell if he’s deliberately or accidentally making the Midwest look good
Love the "uffda"!
could use some rain
you have a good one here gussyboy
We need to see the outtakes from this lol
Naming your dog after a gun or a beer is spot on!
this would be more accurate if it took place in two cars stopped on the road
This is incredibly accurate
The video never ended, because no one slapped their knees and said “Welp, I guess I should be going now.”
As a Michigander, this is completely accurate
As someone from the Midwest, I can confirm that there are many of us like this
The Northern Midwest accent always kills me 😂
Thanks for this
Southern IL boi here. This is painfully accurate and I fucking love it.
Why is this 100% accurate
this was great! 🤣
Jesus Christ this was so good.
I'm from North East UK and we're exactly like this around here, have to come visit the Midwest sometime 😂
For some reason Gus still comes over as Australian to me
This is one of my favorites now.
This is painfully accurate
Excited to see Charlie Berens make a skit about Gus next
Good characters!!
