    Home Depot delivered my mower and almost immediately I was cutting grass What makes this so special it was the first time since 2001 I was able to cut grass. My left leg is amputated above the knee. I cant use traditional riding mowers due to the amputation. Thanks for giving me freedom to cut my own grass!

      Thanks for watching and sharing your story. These mowers are great and as long as you change the oil and take care of it, it should last awhile. I’m glad I was able to make a good video to help you.

    Nice vid, just changed mine for the first time on the new CC.
    Tips: Add some oil to the filter before you install to prime it, also, keep the drain line open over the pan when you remove the dirty filter, it will drop more oil lower in the crank case. Cheers.

      @GReviewz  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks for watching. I’m not sure if your oil filter neck is the same as mine but mine is horizontal to the ground so if I fill the filter 3/4 of it will spill out screwing it on...thank you for the tips!

    I use aluminum foil on the frame tucked under the metal lip and pushed up against the engine frame below the oil filter before I remove it. Just fold the foil down along the downside of the frame. Turn the edges of the foil upward to keep the oil from spreading. The oil flows down the foil into the pan and no mess on the frame.

      Choppin' Block that sounds like similar setup to mine. I’ve always bought Kohler engines... I electric impact will help a lot. Before you buy spray blade bolt with wd40 and let sit for a hour. Wedge 2x4 in blades to stop blades from turning to help torque the bolt. What kind of blades did you get?

    • @happyamerican3235
      @happyamerican3235 Před 4 lety +1

      Divin Dave. Same here. I fold up a piece of aluminium foil and make a ramp for the oil to drain onto. You can poke a hole in the filter while your draining out the plug and less will spill out when you take the filter off. Poke the hole in the top of the filter. If you make a mess just spray it off with brake cleaner. You can also turn the front wheels to the right to give you more room for the oil drain pan. I have a 2015 xt2 with the Kawasaki motor.

    Shape a piece of heavy duty aluminum foil to make a funnel shape and it will direct that filter mess into your pan. No mess. Use Rotella oil…engine will last longer, higher efficiency, less chance of repairs and best of all this oil does not need to be changed as often. Saves money and is best for the engine. Buy cheap, you pay later. And change/clean out that air filter, too. My brother builds custom performance race engines, does airplane & helicopter repairs, boats, tractors, engines of all types. He told me what to use, he is an expert on engines. 50 + yrs. of experience.

      @@GReviewz Yeah the way it is with the mower main frame right under the oil filter mount stinks! Was going to try to cut a shallow plastic pan to fit under it and still be able to pull the pan out after the filter was attached but gave up. I instead just got myself ready, screwed it on really quickly and the paper towels I had under it got what little did spill out and they weren't completely soaked. I'd tried to jack the mower up sideways but it wasn't very stable is I just did it level. Next time I'm going to park it sideways on a hill so filter and drain will be on the low side and maybe make even less mess. Thanks for the video

    I started to run the motor, of course, he did not start. I realized my mistake, and as soon as possible I opened the reservoir to empty it and did take the oil filter out also. now I let every thing rest so that the oils and fuel wil empty (I hope) totally until tomorow . Are there other things I should do before adding the new oil ? I thought getting a new oil filter. thanks for answering, CHRISTINE
