This woman is so naturally maternal - she sees someone small and helpless and just opens her arms....
And thanks for calling him a someone rather than a something!

What the...!? I thought they have a baby.....
Jđ
This is VERY common after Easter. People buy bunnies, rabbits, and chicks for Easter gifts, then dump them under the idiotic assumption âthey can survive in the wild.â They are family companions, with ZERO survival skills, and will just sit there and starve. It is because of this that places like Farm Sanctuary take in abandoned bunnies, because it is such a HUGE problem - not the bunnies, the idiots.
Kudos to this lovely family for saving such a sweet soul, as I guarantee they would have died. Donât ever stop keeping an eye out for animals in need, because people like you, who care, save lives! You are raising a good little guy there, and he will go on to help more animals because of your good hearts â„ïž
Good point, I didn't put the timing together until you said this...
Idiotic assumption Is giving them the benefit of the doubt. I have seen people abandon cats and dogs in their locked apartments when they move
Thats so sick ;( dont gift bunnies or other animals then dump them like an inanimate object
My mom was born in 41. Says they used to dye baby chicks bright colors and give them to kids like candy in an Easter basket.
I didn't know they still did this to bunnies in this day and age.
Yep, that's how I got my bun. Poor girl practically ran into my arms trying to get out of the park where she was dumped. These guys are doing a good job by that bunny but letting it run free in the front yard makes me nervous. Not only can she run under a car in the street but there are predators everywhere who can take that bunny before she can even think of doing anything about it. You have to be super careful with a bun.
The cat hops higher than the rabbit
True lol, I love the binky.
well actually, all cats do. xD rabbits are really just built for running, and the size of their back legs dictates a low hopping motion when they're walking slowly. they can only jump like 50 cm high to evade predators (such as jumping over attacking birds of prey :o). cats are actually built to jump and can make it like two meters up a wall or over a meter with no wall to double-jump against.
rabbits' legs look like they're made for jumping, but they're really made for horizontal acceleration.
@@Ass_of_Amalek Apparently you donât live in an area w/a lot of wildlife & birds of prey.
Bunnies are regular food around here. :/ Another was just dropped in front of my friendâs car as she was leaving her driveway. Full sized bun was apparently too heavy for the young hawk. He quickly returned to it after she went by. :/
Fox will get smaller ones, Coyotes larger, & Weasels & Fishers will get both babies & adults.
Painful to see & find the aftermath, but thatâs natureâs way...
Weasels probably make the most of their catch, from what Iâve unfortunately seen.
I ran out the other night trying to help something being dragged away screaming, but never did find it. Sounded like a bun in major distress. :( Theyâre plentiful.
Maybe thatâs why they multiply so quickly. Keeping the food supply going.
Cats & dogs are the least of their worries around here. :/
Son NeverSet wtf are you talking about? I just pointed out that one of the relatively few situations where rabbits actually jump up is to dodge birds of prey. I didn't say anything about how successfully rabbits are hunted by any animal. my post is about the fact that jumping is kind of a false association that people have with rabbits based on their up and down walking style, and that really rabbits are built for high acceleration running (combined with digging burrows of course) and rarely jump at all.
@@Ass_of_Amalek Oh, so now itâs for âthe few situations.....â
Change it up all you want. You gave me the impression that they use their jumps to avoid birds of prey. Which is how your post reads. No mention of âfewâ times it may happen.
A bird of prey is much faster than any bunny. And few buns will escape them, unless theyâre _real close_ to a good cover, that the bird of prey would run into while pursuing it.
B/C birds of prey are so agile, they can quickly readjust their flight.
Which is why the bun would have to be _real close_ to that cover, or barrier, to foil the attack.
A jump up from a bun, would have the bird just be able to grab it while in the air. Theyâre not playing jump rope.đ
A bun jump is no match for a bird of preyâs speed & agility.
Your other line about their âhigh accelerationâ b/c of their hind legs, is what prompted my further comment about how that doesnât work so well for them against other predators, either.
You can think Iâm out of line for replying like I did. You shouldnât have implied that they can easily avoid capture, then.
NBD to me.
They can avoid capture from humans pretty easily, for sure. Wild ones, that is.
Cats are regular coyote food here, too. So their ability to jump & climb doesnât help them much against that main predator for them here. Iâm sure the coyotes are happier nabbing a kitty for a meal, than a bunny. Either will do, however. Obviously.
OMG that is the sweetest thing. That bunny instinctively knew that he was safe in the arms of Mikala. Wonderful video and beautiful family.

but what about twin bunnies đđđđ»đ»
You can tell the bunny really has bonded with the family. He has no desire to escape.
Hello đ
This is exactly how I ended up with my bunny. My mom was walking the dog and saw her abandoned in the park, knew instantly she wasn't a wild bunny. For one, it's NYC and we never see wild bunnies. Two, she was a blue rex bunny. Softest, sweetest thing in the world. I'll never understand people who abandon animals.
Me neither! I'm so glad your mom found your bunny and it's safe and happy and loves now!
Me either. How can you have a beautiful pet and just abandon it? If you turn out to no be a pet person at least try to find it a good home.
Omg a rexie! Thatâs soo cute! I love the breed they are so smart and affectionate. Thanks for saving the little one †I found one at the park too and he has brought me so much joy, I love my Henry to bits! Their fur really is soo soft unlike anything Iâve felt
**THANK YOU!! FOR DOING THE "RIGHT" THING, AND TAKING HIM HOME, MY FRIEND!! *WELL DONE!!
This Bunny hit the jackpot when he found this woman to love him! đ°â€ïž
I agree... every child needs a fur sibling. my ex husband was an SPCA officer. He was constantly bringing animals home. rats, bunnies, dogs, spiders, snakes, birds. even opposums and raccoons. my kids are extremely animal oriented and very empathic. Animals bring out a calmness in hyper kids and let them learn to rest and then calm the energy within them. all my kids are adults now and have pets. Levi will be a very well balanced human.
@@TheAstroflight Please get over yourself.
Youâll be a much nicer person to be around & have more actual friends.
Iâm sure you irk plenty more ppl, than those few who irk you. ;)
What a great guy & dad...We grew up w/pets too. My mom was big on rescuing everything that needed it. Not always w/my fatherâs approval, either. Like this great mom, she couldnât leave a helpless furry, or feathered thing to fend for itself, once she or I discovered it.
Iâve been doing the same now, since grade school w/her. All 5 of us have given great forever homes to cats & dogs & love all animals.
Iâm the sucker for the needy rescues, however. Rehab & find them great, forever homes. Those I canât get a great home for, Iâve kept.
Thankful to my mom, for instilling her special sense of love, care, empathy & passion for all Gods wonderful creatures, great & small, into us all.
Sheâs in His perfect peace now, until I see her again, in paradise.đ
I've always had pets and some wild animals I planned to release. I just happened upon a wild bunny nest in my goat pen. All the bunnies have left this week and I have a photo of one that jumped onto the side of the skid lean-to and nuzzled my gloved hand.
Did u say spiders?
That's why your husband has become an ex....đđ
What a lovely story! That bunny deserved a lovely home. I think he chose them! My first bunny was an escaped bunny that lived in the wild for 10 months and kept visiting us every night. Eventually, she got used to us, and I managed to catch her easily, and she was so happy to live inside again! đđđ€
The husband shouldn't have any doubts that it was a house rabbit (or an extremely sick rabbit) the moment the lady was able to pick him up and hold him. Rabbits are scared of their own shadow, they'd BOOK IT on sight if they hadn't been domesticated.
Not everyone is familiar with rabbit behavior
also if you're kinda familiar with rabbits, you can tell that's not a wild one because he's a different colour. wild rabbits have a layered brown and grey fur, this one is just grey. and he's more compact with a big head and short ears.
I don't think the husband was sceptical that that was a house bunny though, he was just hesitant to adopt him.
Yeah, it obviously didn't look like a normal rabbit.
I don't think he was denying that it was a domesticated bunny, but saying no to taking it home.
Absolutely true! The wild bunnies who come into my yard to eat leftover produce from my compost pile will run if I walk by a closed window 20 feet from them while talking too loudly on the phone! Wild bunnies are practically impossible to handle (but they, like the birds, seem to enjoy my peaceful yard where they are most welcome visitors and/or temporary residents - I've had a few bunny families begin under my large lilac bush by the back fence gate). I get to enjoy the sight of beautiful wild animals without having to clean up after them and they get a free meal and/or safety from cars and predators (and stupid people who have more guns and ammo than sense).
When I rescued my bunny, I had 3 rescued cats and 2 large rescue dogs. Talking about a nervy introduction. ALL WENT SUPER!
@@sandrasimon9534 that is wonderful. My Easter castaway lasted over 13 yrs. He was loved by the entire menagerie.
My kittens also turns 9 months old
You could see that bunny's eyes were sad when she first picked him up at the park. You can tell he was so happy that she saved him
The cat is more bunny than the bunny, it's cute n funny đ
Ah yeah the ryming
A Bunny, a Cat and a Baby, and people with a big golden heart. Bravo! P.S. thank you for keeping the rabbit.
This is so adorable and sweet. Kudos to you for taking them in!
Hi
A bunny with the soul of a dog.
Bravo to you for recognizing not all bunnies left outside are wild! I makes you wonder how many domesticated bunnies are abandoned and nobody realizes they have been. When people see a dog or cat thatâs on itâs own they know it really canât fend for itself. Not so with bunnies!
Bunnies are awsome little pets..I used to have one too..he followed me around the garden with no fence and didn't run away. It was my first pet..I was 13 and didn't know bunnies are very social animals..they need other bunny friends..people, if you wan't a bunny please get two.
Odd couples have existed for some time but I donât think itâs a coincidence that we are seeing so many animals take to each other while at the same time seeing so many humans start to believe in humanity and the eternal love and light within us all.
Small acts of kindness, like taking in a bunny, can light up the hearts of hundreds of thousands thanks to this channels and others that give light to the acts. Thank you for that.
P.S. we all know that guy is too smart to tell his pregnant wife no to rescuing a cute bunny.
Thank you for saving the bunny đ„°đđœ
So awesome of you to take him home! That is how I got my beloved bunny⊠some thoughtless jerk left him in my work parking lot in 107 degrees! Now he is safe and happy and loved! You are very kind đđđžđžđž
that's a pretty insane level of confidence in that bunny to take him out into the open yard with no leash or collar or anything. I hope he's at least microchipped. I don't know if people normally chip their bunnies, but if you're gonna do that, you definitely should. and I would still be too scared about the bunny being spooked by a car, a wild animal, or a cat or dog. or worse yet, not get spooked and just get killed, because there definitely are dogs whose reaction to seeing a little bunny with no survival instinct would be to run and kill it very quickly, and it's a similar situation with big birds of prey.
If a dog killed my rabbit, I would kill the dog with my bare hands. Then their firstborn child.
There always has to be at least one.
Exactly what I just commented above. One day a dog ran towards my bunny but thank God she was in her cage at that particular time, he would have killed her for sure. I still think about that today and remember how lucky she was cause she was usually out of her cage and we would sit and watch her, plus you have to be careful cause they chew through everything.
Yes, even the best behaved bunnies can get spooked so easily and they are so fast it's almost impossible to catch them if they are on the run.
That was so nice of you to give him a home where someone has abandoned him. God Bless you!
Thank you for properly homing that abandoned rabbit. He is very happy with all your family. My son grew up with a pet rabbit and loved him dearly. Taking him home was a very good move.
This is way too common. I own three free home roaming bunnies and my last acquired one, Cookie, was found on a path in the middle of nowhere by my niece. I too found a little guy, prior to Cookie, sitting on the gravel by a busy highway. This little neutered guy had been sick for along time and the vet recommended I put him down. At least I held him sleeping in my arms, wrapped in a blanket, before the vet took him away to be euthanized. The sadness and anger I felt that day as I went home to my two bunnies was awful. Being able to help Cookie a couple of years later made me feel better.
I love this family so much! Kind parents raise kind children, and this ol' world desperately needs many more of both. God bless!
I just hope she's teaching that baby how to handle the animals in the correct way. Babies and small children tend to just grab and pull on the animals fur, which she did say the baby did, so I hope she corrects that. Also I used to have a bunny when I was 18 and I too let her out in the yard to run free, but one day a dog saw her and ran at full speed towards her, he would have killed her but thankfully that day she was in her cage in the front yard, I was probably just getting ready to let her out cause she wasn't in her cage for long. But yeah you have to watch them constantly cause not only that but they will chew through anything and you have to make sure there's no wires or anything dangerous near by.
@@JaneCooper190072 Mikala said Levi "tries" to grab the bunny's fur. You can relax.
@@JaneCooper190072 I know how you feel. I started loving animals when I was very young, and have spent my whole life worrying about them. I'm 78 now, so that's a lot of worry! My husband & I still have several rescued cats we love very much.
@@JaneCooper190072 I think watching the video shows how caring & compassionate she is. Iâm more than sure those traits will pass on to Levi.
Chill & Relax.
@@sonneversets3530 Yes I know eventually most children who have animal loving parents usually do tend to become animal lovers themselves, but you'd be surprised at how many parents don't teach their kids how to handle the pets properly. Then you have pets who hate living in their own homes cause of irritating children, I've had a few cats run away from their homes and come to me, and that's cause they're not settled in their home. Animals do and will run away.. It's no good waiting til the kids grow up and realize themselves how to handle them, mom should be teaching them from the get go, like before they can walk, like literally taking their hand and showing them how to touch and pet them. You can't just hope for the best. I've seen soooo many parents who are just oblivious to how their children are just yanking on the animals coat. And she in NO WAY should be allowing that bunny to roam freely in the front like that. I don't mean to be a bummer, but it just really irritates me how irresponsible people are when it comes to pets. Especially when children are involved and they're not teaching them.
The bunny sensed the impending motherhood and felt safe with her đâ€
Its so sad how people can just throw away their pets. There's so many rescues available that no animal needs to be dumped & forgotten about! I'm glad the bun bun found better owners that love him.
I have a story to tell, when I was 8-9, I had a dog, she was absolutely adorable and the sweetest ever, we were forced to get out of our house because of my mom's partner, we basically ran away and my dog was left there, I asked my mom why we didn't brought her or take her into a shelter and the truth is, the shelters in the country I lived in put down dogs there was not a single no kill shelters in the city, there was also no rescues organization nearby, as horrible as this sounds, my dog was better off living with my neighbors (yes they adopted her and I still get updates to this day) than the horror.

Is there a chance the bunny will dart in front of a car? One thing I've learned in this life is the things you say can never happen can, and often do happen!
Yes, I was worried about that as well.

something so wholesome about this video. This little boy has very kind caring parents and two best furry buddies
I am so thankful you found this bunny and brought him home with you. You probably saved his life. Oftentimes people will release a domesticated pet into the wild thinking they will adapt but they dont. Domesticated pets do not know how to survive in the wild on their own so you really literally may have saved his life and definitely saved him from certain suffering. I am so grateful you found him and he found you !!!!!
