That part where he goes from the piano into the guitar is WILD!!!
Nobody does it better than Prince! 💜

“Is that a pole, bro? Is that a pole?” 🤣 You’re 100% correct: that is the blues. Unfortunately that version of the video cuts out the part where Prince sings Muddy Waters’ “Electric Man” and has an intimate moment with the mic stand 💜

@keymc he is definitely talking about God - he wants us to understand that God is the answer to every question. ❤

Many of his songs have a deeper meaning than you can get by just reading the lyrics.🙂

The album version strongly reminded me Under the Cherry Moon, it's even more blatant here, you would be able to sing Cherry moon's lyrics on this music.
That make sense, both songs were written for a film sound track. I haven't seen the films, so I don't know if the songs appear in similar contexts or characters moods ( considering the synopsis), or if he simply decided to "quote" it , like a 2.0 version of the previous soundtrack. But I'm pretty sure it's absolutely done on purpose, with a real intention not " well, I don't know what to add here, let's re-use something, it will works".
That's MY question for U, Prince. Why are the two songs so similar, when you tried generally to never do the same thing twice? What do you want to tell us, not with words, but through the music?🤔

The question of u was most likely revolution material, prob written around the same time of under the cherry moon 85/86. 15% of prince s music was prob recycled. Around 85/86 he had a group called The Flesh which was prince, Levi, Sheila, fink that was around during the last days of the revolution, that might be where the similarities are in sound and tone

What are you talking about? Prince is talking to God and trying to understand his own meaning for existing. Just listen to the lyrics and think outside the box, metaphysicly. Most of his songs go over your head.

Perosnally, I think he’s talking about God. What is the question of God.
