Keep reacting to more Prince. He’s well worth the musical journey. He’s our modern Mozart. miss his presence here on 🌍 but so thankful he left us his musical legacy.

The video you just watched is actually a mashup between Question of U and The One. Both are amazing songs in their own right. Prince’s first wife, Mayte Garcia, directed the music video for The One, and it is absolutely gorgeous. For playlist purposes, there’s a released live recording of this mashup on Spotify as part of the Indigo Nights live album from 2007. 💜
The female singer is Candy Dulfer. She’s a saxophonist from the Netherlands. I actually started playing saxophone around this time because of her. When I met Prince for the first time 2 years later when I was 12-years-old, he asked me if I had heard any of Candy’s albums. I said I just knew of her from Musicology, and he recommended listening to her album Saxuality. It’s a little too pop-sounding for my personal tastes, but that’s Prince’s recommendation if you want to check out some of her work. 🥰

Prince stands alone in terms of musical artistry and stage presence. He is truly one of a kind and doesn't just make music, he is music. This performance actually has 3 songs,
'The Question Of U', 'The One', and Alicia Keys hit song 'Fallin'
with Candy Dulfer (One of Prince's Sax players) singing the chorus. Prince brilliantly takes you on a trip of spiritual vibe then changes direction with his guitar to play rock over to a blues sound and then goes into a R&B soulful flair where he utilizes his different vocal ranges ending it with screams of passion. IMO the live performances are better than the album versions.

I’ve subscribed in anticipation of more Prince reactions! 💜 anything live will never disappoint. He was the embodiment of music. Always true to himself. Unique, emotional, beautiful. Such a special artist and man 💜 The rabbit hole is extensive but worth every second. The man was just phenomenal and so greatly missed 😢 He set the bar so high that nobody will even come close to his genius 💜 The Mozart of the modern era…that’s no understatement! He stirs your emotions like no other! A supreme human being with a beautiful giving soul and talent that will never be replicated 💜

I was finally blessed to see Prince on this tour. He did 3 nights in Detroit. UNFORGETTABLE ❤ This has always been one of my favorite songs.

She joined Prince's band in 2004 for the Musicology tour. She is part of a group called The Ladies of Soul based in Amsterdam.

Gurrrl, watching you fall in love with Prince like I did so many years ago was so fun. I get chills every time I see this performance (including when I saw it on the Musicology tour). As others have said, there are so many great live performances. I recommend checking out anything from the 2009 Montreux Jazz Fest performances (my favorites are Empty Room/Elixir, Little Red Corvette, and All the Critics Love You), Motherless Child, America (he plays drums in that one), Play That Funky Music/Hollywood Swinging/Fantastic Voyage, and Purple Rain. There are so many great versions of Purple Rain. I particularly love the one he did at the 1985 American Music Awards. I’m subscribing with the hope that you’ll continue down the Prince rabbit hole. I’ve enjoyed your reactions to his music so far. And, yes, he is in his own caliber.

I subscribed as soon as I saw Prince. He's a self-taught musician, he plays several instruments. The guitar is his favorite, and he's a beast on it. I saw him in concert in Miami back in the day, BEST CONCERT EVER. Oh, by the way that lady was Rosie Gaines, she was a part of the band. Alicia Keys did show up to one of the concerts and sang her part. Prince was a freak and I loved it. Thanks for this, great reaction by the way

Prince's musical rabbit hole is massive. You never know what you'll get...rock, funk, r&b, jazz, gospel and pop. You've only scratched the surface. Love him!!! Prince had me hot and bothered today and back in the day. I'm so glad I got a chance to see him perform. I also visited his Paisley Park home. It was wonderful and sad at the same time

Hey Ashley, Now that you're going down the Prince rabbit hole I have one and only one request . If you thought that was good, Which it was, You should most definitely check out Purple Rain live in Syracuse New York 1985. What he did with that song and the White Cloud Guitar that night can't be put into words. At the time I was a young aspiring musician myself and I could not believe what I witnessed that night. He had me and the entire audience in tears.

Listening to this hoping you heard his solo from his rock n roll Hall of fame induction, same year. He plays a guitar solo--best solo ever done in the ceremony I think--in the tribute to George Harrison, While My Guitar Gently Weeps. He just shows out! Also check his "Black Sweat".

I was fortunate to see him live in concert twice and the Musicology tour in 2004. Those not familiar with his catalog don't realize this was a mix of 3 songs. 2 by him from different albums, Question of You, The One and Fall'n by Alicia Keys.
