- Hey guitarists, check out the 5150 Overdrive pedal from EVH! Designed in conjunction with Eddie Van Halen, the MXR EVH 5150 Overdrive effects pedal is a sonic replica of an EVH 5150 III's blue channel. This amp-in-a-box pedal has the high gain of the amplifier and just as much string-to-string clarity. A 3-band EQ lets you dial the pedal in to complement your rig. An onboard boost adds gain and compression for punching through the mix. And a one-knob Smart Gate function keeps the 5150 Overdrive quiet at higher-gain settings. Thanks for watching!

Honestly, the noise gate on here makes this thing stand out to me over other amp in a box pedals. What an excellent feature for a high gain pedal.
Just got this pedal finally. Been wanting it for years. It does EVH and so much more. The gain boost and noise gate are really nice features. I can actually solo with this pedal without having to use an additional overdrive for more sustain.
That is one badass sound.
Excellent chops and review.
Man that is a killer PRS to boot!
when i first saw it and held it, i was extremely surprised by how light it was
Gotta love the little touches to the knobs that do nothing at all to the sound
+alan met But I bet they made his finger tips happy!
With headphones, it sounds wayyyyyy different with even the slightest tap!
I was going to say.....headphones make a difference when you are hearing a recording of it. Which is.....what you are doing on this instance. Tone freaks typically enjoy a subtle difference in frequency adjustment. Nobody wants to blow up the amp because the lows overload and make it sound muddy. Nobody wants to have an icepick shoved into their head with how hot the highs are. Lastly, nobody wants a bodiless-mids sound in their guitar either. Subtlety. Its important to players.
"Okay, let's twist some knobs."
Five stand for flames !!! One , will stand for on '....
Flame on ! Fire all .....
a boss power supply can serve to this pedal?
