    Great video, I run a small service shop from my garage and a buddy brought me his bmw, first one, I typically work on Harley. But I learned a lot from you and was able to get his service done and chain correctly adjusted

    A good video, having only had my 310 bike for a month and being very fresh on a bike 1 and a half months or 380Km experience and having to adjust the chain already, this was super helpful. I swear I checked it like 5 times to be safe. So sh*t scared of the bike atm :)

    I like the little sharpie markings you've made on the brake disc, I do similar things on my lock-nuts so that I can be confident they've been tensioned back to the right spot if I don't have a torque wrench handy :)

    Hi Matt. Thank you for work, it's really appreciated.
    Is there a video on your channel on how to change the gear shifter on the BMW G310R (2017-2020)? I dropped my bike and the gear shifter got bent. Already ordered a new one but I want to make sure I install it properly when it arrives.
    Thank you!

    Thank you brother appreciated. But what does 74 LBFT means ?? We can’t do too tight ??

  • @khabuda
    @khabuda Před 4 měsíci

    In case anyone is here for the GS, the manual specs the tension from the sidestand. Unsure if the R is really supposed to be lifted either. "Unloaded" means no rider. The GS manual is really clear about putting the bike on its sidestand though.

    Nicely done and explained Matt..would u please comment if adjusting the chain tension while loaded make a difference? I hear it's better way, especially if riding with pillion or loaded with luggage?

    Any harmful if over torque the rear axel nut? I used to torque mine very tight, just in case you know.

    Hey Matt, been watching your videos for a while! Was wondering, i removed the rear wheel of my 2019 g310gs to get tires changed. When i put the rear wheel back on and went for a ride. Immediately my abs light came on and i rode home and noticed the rear brake caliper and abs sensor were wrecked! Any idea what i did wrong I’ve looked all over the internet and can’t find any parts i may lost. Is there alignment magic i don’t know about 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ helpppp!!

    • @gregskel48
      @gregskel48 Před 4 lety +1

      the ABS sensor is (as you 'll know having done the job) at the top of the wheel so bad alignment shouldn't have caused this problem in theory... my guess would be if the sensor has been knocked askew when putting the wheel back in or if the spacers on either side of the wheel have been swapped round by accident...I did once destroy an ABS sensor on the rear wheel of an aprilia doing exactly that 🙃

    Hello, notice that my 310gs overnight did not want to turn the board on but it does not start and I checked the gear, the alternators, the fuse, and everything is fine, could you help me? regards

    What is the reason for unloading the suspension? Do you think it will give the correct chain tension during riding? Why not setting the chain tension while there was someone on top of the bike?

    • @MattsMotoWoRX
      @MattsMotoWoRX  Před 3 lety +2

      Because the specification that’s given is for the suspension unloaded. It’s also easier to spin the wheel and check the chain for tight spots. Thanks for checking out the video

    What u find really annoying is for example on my s1000rr it says to just push up , from what I can see that bike wants you to push up a down . Why do they haft make it so confusing

    I don't understand where your measuring from..the bike is lifted and you have a ruler on the floor. Shouldn't it be touching the top of the bottom part of the fork..

  • @KILLA-J

    You really need to tell people to ride the machine for about five minutes before lifting it. Running the motorcycle while lifted is the perfect recipe for disaster! Other than that, great video - thanks!
