  • First off, it pushes the spring out when you slide the disconnect tool in. You'll know what I mean if you watch the entire video.
    Now, people often complain about how hard it is to remove hard line fuel lines. They don't relieve the pressure so they're fighting that as well. If you release the pressure, everything comes apart much easier.
    Thanks for watching. Don't forget to subscribe for more videos on this engine swap. There will be little clips as I make progress. If you'd like more details or have questions leave a message in the comments. Hit that 👍 button if this was helpful.

      Main thing to remember is to bleed the fuel rail so there's no pressure on the lines. Makes for a simple removal and not fighting the pressure and clips on the line.

    What about the other side that leads through the inside of the upper intake? I moved the intake over to get to this not knowing it was a fuel line but never was able to disconnect it.
    I have a rough idle and vacuum code. Sprayed that area with carb cleaner and rpm revs high.
    Any advice there?

    Where do you get the line that goes from filter to motor

    • @JustinJoyinglife
      @JustinJoyinglife  Před 11 měsíci

      My bad, I'm just seeing this. The 2 I have were with the engines in my vehicles but if you're purchasing one from an auto store I would ask for the fuel line from fuel filter to fuel rail. They should be able to pull up a schematic to be sure it's the right line. Probably too late if a response but just in case someone else watches and needs the info. I don't know why I didn't get notified, I try to do my best to respond when comments are added.

      @southernslipping4225 you could take the faulty one into a hose shop to potentially be repaired or go to a pick and pull. One might be on ebay or other selling sight but honestly I wouldn't know. I try to keep a spare parts vehicle for my wheels so that if anything is ever needed it's usually readily available.

    What is that fuel line with the yellow tag called cause I recently acquired a 01 ford ranger and that fuel line with the yellow tag was taken off the silver filter is their anyway I can get the line back on that silver filter

    • @JustinJoyinglife
      @JustinJoyinglife  Před 3 lety

      If I was calling a parts store I would say the fuel line that's connected to the fuel rail. It has quick releases at the rail and then the line that goes to the tank.
      Yours missing or damaged? Pretty sure I have another one from my donor truck.

      Or was it taken off of the frame side line at the fuel filter?

    • @wallawalla1173
      @wallawalla1173 Před 3 lety

      The end was taken off to pump gas out if the tank with a homemade fuel siphon and we just can't get it back on

    • @JustinJoyinglife
      @JustinJoyinglife  Před 3 lety

      @@wallawalla1173 the fuel line from the tank up to the rail are quick disconnects on both of mine. You may need the fuel line quick disconnect tool in order to move the spring out of the way for the connection to be made if it's bit sitting a while.

    What’s that plastic tool called?

    • @JustinJoyinglife
      @JustinJoyinglife  Před 2 lety +1

      It's a fuel line removal tool from Harbor Freight. Comes with multiple sizes and colors. Fairly sure the set was like 7 or 8 bucks.

  • @timdiez8739

    You didn’t have hardly any pressure! That’s a bad fuel pump, they must have 50 Psi minimum to run.

    • @JustinJoyinglife
      @JustinJoyinglife  Před rokem +1

      I don't jam the tool in for instant relief, I slowly apply pressure so that it's not spurting everywhere. Plus the engine had been sitting for over a year with a bad tranny before I swapped it into the ranger so some pressure likely leaked off.
