    I don't like De La Hoya post retirement, but in his prime, De La Hoya was one of the greatest fighters in that era. And he never ducked anybody. He'd fight anybody and most his fights were exciting. He's a true legend for sure.

      He beat Mosely when they fought at 154 and got robbed, and Hopkins and Sturm fights were at 160. He ko'd Fernando Vargas and Mayorga at 154. Both very strong, durable fighters. Vargas in particular was a great fighter and Oscar went toe to toe with him for 11rds before stopping him.

      I think you meant Oscar would've got smashed. Oscar was an amazing WELTERWEIGHT, but Oscar got smashed twice in His Career. One could argue Canelo got hurt once his whole career went up against much bigger punchers than Oscar. A prime Oscar for sure would have given Canelo a lot of problems with his movement. I could see him getting a possible points decision if it was at 154 over Canelo but not smash him. In all likelyhood in this fantasy bout, Canelo breaks him down to the body before ending it late.

    Yea dude was incredible. I don’t think people give Oscar his credit. He was a sensational boxer. And he also fought mostly great fighters and he fought them in their prime. Don’t compare Canelo to this dude

      It’s not about height it’s about body composition. De la Hoya maxed out at 154. Canelo started his title run at 154 de la Hoya started his 5 divisions below at 126.

    I never liked DeLa Hoya but the dude is a legend for what he did in that ring. I would have loved to see these two fight in their prime.
