In this video I go through my initial setup to use a dado stack on my SawStop table saw. This is my first time using a dado stack so I figured I would record the process. The process was very simple. The switch from standard brake to the larger dado brake was super simple. Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

*** Important Note: this dado stack is actually not recommended for SawStop saws because it has anti-kickback “wings” behind the teeth. So while the setup would be the same for other dado stacks I would not purchase this one.

Would have been nice if you explained how to position the blades/spacers/shims relative to each other.

Yeah my bad on that…should have added something around that. Just put them between each blade/chipper making sure all the teeth still overlap for a clean cut. Thanks for watching.

Important Note! This is a "Freud Blade" which has the Anti Kick Back/tooth Shoulder,whicj is not recommended by SawStop!

Honestly I had no idea about that so thanks for the heads up. I probably won’t replace it right away since my primary reason for buying it is done now…but I appreciate you pointing it out. I will add a note in the description to this point as well.

Good job. I wonder if you were just lucky that you didn’t have to adjust the space between the dado and the break.

Thanks. I was thinking maybe I got lucky but I think they have to take that into account when sizing the dado brake. It would be a real pain to have to adjust that spacing every time you switched between a regular and dado blades. Thanks for watching!
