  • Follow along with me as I install this Diablo dado set in my Delta 36-725T2 table saw. We'll cut some dados and rabbets to make a basic frame to illustrate this amazing tool. This sets available in store at Home Depot and for about $100 and is a great value. It has become my favorite basic joinery tool and has really leveled up my simple projects. Don't have a dado set yet, check this one out!

      Hello again Bill! You just sent me down a Craftsman Kromedge rabbit hole! I didn’t realize craftsmen named every product from dado sets to hand saw miter boxes kromedge. Have about 35 eBay tabs open on my work computer. 😁 I’d like to do a dado set comparison vid on the near future. Thanks as always!

      I’ve actually never seen a dado from Harbor Freight. You’ve got my curiosity up and I’ll have to make a point of looking for it. Thanks for the tip!

      @@ProjectsForAllReviews yeah I bought it years ago before my channel so I finally bought a “good set” and did the comparison. Could of saved money sticking to the Harbor🤣

    What is the point to the sacrificial fence on that sliding fence you already have? Is it just to beaf it up a bit? Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. Oh and nice Seiko by the way!

    I got the Freud 6" version for basic rabbits and dados, mostly in plywood. I just did not trust an 8" blade of that size in an under 3 HP table saw I have (a vintage 1969 Craftsman 113).

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  Před 2 lety +1

      I’ve often wondered why they make both a 6 inch and an 8 inch dado set. Always assumed it was to fit different saws but you make an interesting point. Maybe a good future video topic! Thanks for watching!!!

    You have quickly become one of my favorite wood guys on CZcams. Why? You don't bullshit me, you don't use jargon that I have to look up. Also, and this is huge, NO MUSIC! Thank You! Keep going, please!

      That’s a huge compliment Darrell! Thank you! Hard to believe I was worried about the comment section when I started this channel. Woodworkers must be the nicest group of ppl on the internet. All you guys have made doing this a lot of fun. Got a DeWALT sliding chop saw for this week. Should drop Friday. Thanks again!

    Cool! I'm new to table saw. Consider buying the Bosch GTS 254 or the Bosch 6350216. Any Idea if a dado stack would fit in? Seems I can't get a reliable answer. Thanks!

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  Před 2 lety +2

      I don’t think those are USA models. Just curious where do you live? I found zero useful information on the GTS 254. No pdf manual on Bosch’s website and nothing on google. Here is the manual for the 635-216:
      www.bosch-professional.com/binary/ocsmedia/optimized/full/o369618v21_160992A6SU_202109.pdf
      I read it and there’s no mention of a dado. Probably your best bet is to get on a forum in your area and find someone who owns those models. Good luck. Thanks for watching!!!

    Any PROs/CONs to having the “chippers” be ‘full’ blades vs quarter sections (like these)?

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  Před rokem

      There possibly is a Pro to having a stack of blades but this style you see in the vid is the only style I've ever used. Wish I had an answer for ya. Thanks for watching!

    • @nwembly
      @nwembly Před rokem

      My Dado Stack is “Oshlun” and pretty happy with it. However, for someone else who’s new to woodworking could be problematic as they do NOT mark the outer blades as to “left” outer side and “right” outer side. Unless you know to look closely at the “kerf” tilt in vs out, you’d not know.
      The chippers are full round blades. I’ve never tried the chipper style you’re showing (partial chippers)

      @@ProjectsForAllReviews Thank you for reply ! also there is a big issue with UK Version , you can not use 10” Blades because 10” = 254mm and the Dewalt accepts only 250mm if you want to use 254mm blades (10” US Version) you need to remove/cut some parts from your knife guard base) please read about it i am still brand new woodworker

    Nice work, Mike! Shouldn't you remind the "makers" out there that they cannot use the riving knife with the dado blade. I have an Amana set and it's not quite as easy to set up when using non-traditional measurements (you know that Canadian plywood). Amana gives you plenty of shims, hopefully, you're not color blind because that's ow they code their shims. Lastly, the owners manual may, or may not represent the shims included in the set you have purchased. I see a new set of blades in my future. Thanks.

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  Před rokem

      If I forgot to mention then definitely remove the riving knife. Thanks. This is a pretty good set but the shims are a stamped with the thickness and are a little hard to read. Heads up on that. Thanks for the comment!
