  • Learn the step by step process for dado blade set up on a Sawstop Table Saw.
Dado cuts are a very popular type of cut in woodworking. A dado is a cross cut made across the wood grain. The cut is made perpendicular to the wood grain, or at a 90 degree angle, which is different than a groove cut (which is cut with, or parallel to the grain).
Dados are often used to join shelves to cabinets. Using a table saw for making dado cuts is a very effective and efficient way.
We go through how to set up a dado blade on a Sawstop table saw, but the process applies no matter what table saw you're using.

I really liked the way you explained every step. I am a blind woodworker and have not used a dado set yet. I have it at the shop and I will be using it next week. Thank you very much.

You should add a link to the dado blade that you use. Great resource for viewers and a good way to get sponsors too!
    Thanks for the video

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I'm not sure that your dado stack is recommended by Sawstop. The extra weight of the chippers might not slow the blade in an appropriate time. I believe there is only one Freud stack that is recommended and that's the SD208S . I ended up selling my dado stack when I got my Sawstop and use one of their recommended sets, the Dewalt. I would contact them and double check

Also, I think blades that have the bump behind the carbide tip are not recommended because these types of blades take longer for the brake to stop them.
