    ERRATA: I believe I mistated the number of included games on the emulated portion of the cabinet - it's 350 not 150. However most of the titles are not arcade games - a majority are console titles - many that are not very good.

    Thanks Lon. I would like to see in the future: Is there a way to connect the Pi or Mister inside the cabinet. The top panel connect works for some people, but I would rather not have cords sticking out of the control panel. A pi inside would make much more sense. I deep dive inside the cabinet and connection options inside would be nice to see.

    • @MrSampsonne
      @MrSampsonne Před 4 lety

      Exactly. It’s not a particularly elegant solution to have an hdmi cable popping out of an already cramped control panel running over to a nearby table with a dozen other wires running to usb drives and wall power. It’s cool that this works and all, but by the time you go through all this hassle, you could very easily have built a proper MAME setup with an old Dell Optiplex for $150. If woodworking is the hurdle, check out the newer offerings from Rec Room Masters.

    I'd love to be able to use another front-end to launch games on the mister in my recroommasters cabinet. The mister gui just doesn't cut it for me, unfortunately. I know itd be a little awkward (writing something to switch my arcade cab's input to the mister from launcbox and back again when exiting), but I don't think there's any technical limitations that would prevent it from happening.
    Nice to see we're getting closer tho. I'm not normally a fan of Atgames's products, but it's nice to see they're cool with that extensability.

    I've been hearing about lots of bugs with the OTG still. I saw a video of someone disconnecting the joystick wiring, hooking them up to usb encoders. You would lose access to all of the atgames OS though. I'm wanting to go this route and put a mister / PC combo in the cab.

    Even the best of these emulators are held back by the monitors, imo. Nothing compares to playing arcade stuff on a CRT, these older games were designed with that immediate response in mind.

But most of all I would like to see how well you can play the most common trackball games and spinner games on this thing properly.

    Would love to see how do you fit a PC in there; especially to see how the connections would work with the limited support that the main control panel give to xinput. Do you see any area inside the case where to fit a pc? I saw people adding a raspberry pi on the top part, where the monitor is, making a hole for airflow; but nobody used the bottom part at all.

    Thanks for the video. I own a legends Arcade. What is my #1 frustration with it is that the spinners are mapped in such a way that they are reversed for single player games such as Tempest. It forces single players to play with their off-hand. Its a bit like playing with one hand tied behind your back. Its so frustrating and disappointing that the spinners cannot be remapped. Also, the cabinet forces players to use the joystick when playing Asteroids. Asteroids never had a joystick, so why in the hell did they decide the game would play better with a joystick?? Did they hire an intern to design the game control mapping who had never played a video game made before 2010? It would make me feel good if I could take a 10 gallon bucket of smelly old dog crap, walk into Legends HQ, and dump it on the desk of the CEO, just to get his attention and make a symbolic statement of what I think about their design decision to prevent the game controls from being remapped; I would feel sooooo much better. :)

To this day since the first Xbox console things where never the same. Microsoft broke into the gaming industry dirty by releasing source code by accident tying it to linux and no console has ever been better. Sorry Sony and Nintendo you will always lose to Microsoft in the end. They give zero f's about the extra change they making from games. So will work with pirates on the low to really show what their system can do.
