Firmware Update Steps:
1. Download the Open Beta Firmware from the site listed above.
2. Rename the downloaded file "ha8800_update.img" and save to root of your USB thumb drive
3. Insert USB thumb drive with updated firmware file to USB port on the arcade control-deck with the cabinet powered on.
4. A prompt should show on the screen indicates that there is an update file detected. Select the option to update to the Open Beta firmware for bluetooth pairing with RetroPi.

What features would you like to see on a future firmware update? Let me know in the comments below!
COOLTOY I would like to see some form of self test or visual button calibration to ensure they are all working properly. My deck came apart in shipping, so I fixed it manually. It would have been nice to see a visual status as soon as it came out of the box.
2 player on the control panel.
How about making a video showing us how to download the data to the flash drive and installing it in the arcade.
I'm trying to find out how 2 people can play spontaneously as competitors. Can you assist?
PLEASE keep making these AtGames Legends Ultimate Arcade videos !! they are your most high traffic ones !.. you make the best "How-to" videos on here.
Never knew there was an Odroid. I am going to have to check it out. Thanks for the great video!
That cabinet is really shaping up to be a great all in one machine. Awesome new features.
AtGames is really working to make this the Ultimate Home Arcade as the name suggests.
Wow! So many updates. Thanks for sharing this. Sorry I'm late, seeing this one.
Dude, I just ordered my arcade. Can't wait to check it out. I'll be throwing you some love when I do a video.
Great video, I'm gonna have to get an odroid, looks awesome!
they are pretty sweet little single board powerhouses. I've been able to play more advanced systems on my odroids for well over a year now while the raspberry pi 4 is just now catching up to it.
What version of Odroid do you recommend for retro gaming & to use on this cab?
Damn I'm more and more impressed each week. Can't wait for my Sam's Club to get one in so I can buy it.
The BT capability looks good, but I’m wondering how the reaction time / Input lag is as compared to a zero lag encoder.
I tried using an Odroid in my arcade machine. The controls were a huge issue with later systems so I swapped it out with a raspberry pi 3b and turned the Odroid into a console for my projector.
I’m here from PDub posting in Facebook group!
thanks for checking out the video!
Cooltoy...Question...Do you think Arcade 1 Up will eventually stop production of the original cabinets like Pac Man or Galaga or Rampage? Also do you know how long by chance production of the turtles and Star Wars cabinets will continue?
Man I exactly as you said and still in the dark. Even went as far as to reset it to the factory settings with the flash drive and still no Bluetooth capability. What am I missing ?
Absolutely Fantastic Video - and I love that you went with the ODroid instead of the Pi - the ODroid is so much better in emulating those 'more modern' games compared to the Pi. Great Choice! This was the video I was waiting for! Great job Dude!!!!
Thanks man, I've always been a fan of the Odroids for that reason alone! Very powerful little units, definitely worth the extra money spent to play the additional modern consoles in my eyes.
Hi Cooltoy, Does Spinner and Trackball work on your tempest and centipede ? No one did a demo on it so I don’t know.
CoolToy - Another set of ODROID 101 questions from a newby: 1) What prep work is required of the ODROID hardware (e.g., load of an OS on to it?); 2) We need a SD card right? to load the OS? to load the piggy or other image? Does the SD card stay with it permanently? Do we need to worry about R/W speeds and 3) What else do we need to buy - you have the hardware and the bluetooth antenna? I assume I also need a case for the hardware? It looks like the hardware you have linked to on Amazon includes the power supply so that is good. Excuse the basic questions. Thanks for all your efforts!
David Marzo you’ll definitely need a micro SD card. I personally use SanDisk extreme or ultra cards. Prep work is pretty non existent. All I did was burn the pi image onto the SD card, and insert it along with my Bluetooth dongle into the odroid itself. Both have to remain in the odroid while it’s being used. Cases are optional and really dependent on where and how you plan on storing the unit. The N64 case I have is complete overkill and is just for my personal aesthetics, there are very cheap case options available on amazon as well
COOLTOY Great - thanks. That is helpful as that confirms what I have been able to piece together thru different videos and forums. Many thanks
Wow, I had no idea that the Odroid was that much more powerful. I have a Pi 3B+, and I was going to buy a Pi 4 once the images start coming out. Now, I seriously want this setup you have, I would love to have Atomiswave and Naomi games! Have you done a video on how to set this up? or link to one you would recommend? Also, any list of features or a review comparing this to the Pi?
Are you able to play the Star Wars Trilogy Arcade on here? I know you built the cabinet with the pc running it, but was hoping to play those on this cabinet.
Can you show us an ALU connect to Bluetooth in RetroPie followed by an immediate reboot and auto reconnect? The settings do not hold for anybody. The ALU has to be manually removed / re-added each time. RetroPie does not re add it properly. Steps followed 100%. Can you make a vid showing your results ?
I’m trying to use this feature with the latest update but it seems like it’s not recognizing my RPi3. Is there a specific model Pi I need?
Is there a way to map the second control stick for use with Robotron?
Could you do a video on getting and setting one up for Odroid ? ( also which image of Odroid did you use ? )
I used the Extreme PiPIggies 128GB image from arcadepunks website for the odroid xu4
@cooltoy hey man it looks like they added a new otg section in the settings im not having any luck adding my pi4 w lakka. Any advice?
do you have the actual video on how to add the odriod hardware? and if I purchase the odriod does it comes with pre-loaded games?
I cant get it working in game it works fine in the menu ,the buttons aren't working in game however
CoolToy- On your advice I bought a Raspberry Pie, but having a little trouble getting it to recognize the Arcade Legends control deck. The Beta software installed fine, I was able to connect the Arcade and Raspberry Pi via Bluetooth - but when I try to configure the PI inputs, it only detects the gamepad, no the @Games Arcade. I have tried all 5 Bluetooth configuration on the PI Bluetooth menu - still no luck. Any ideas?
The odroid looks awesome. I see there is no native bluetooth support, will any bluetooth dongle work? Would there then be any type of setting I would have to turn on in the odroid system itself to use it?
Do you think this would work with a Firestick ? Connect Bluetooth though the Firestick and play some Android Games ?
I’m new to all of this but just got this cabinet for my kids and added a raspberry pi/RetroPie, so thank you for the tutorial. After some issues, I finally got the pi to see the cabinet’s game pad and I’m able to configure it. But then the buttons don’t work in games and once I select a game, I can’t exit back to the menu. If anyone has a idea what I might be doing wrong, I’d welcome any guidance. Thanks!
there is no download link for me on the page
Quick question...your ODROID has many similar features like mine. How would I know if my wireless PS4 controller is Bluetooth? I ask this because when I checked the menu for my Bluetooth config it says there is nothing that is connected to it.
Hey Cool Toy, thanks for your content. I am thinking about buying an AtGames Legends Cabinet, my first cabinet. I saw your video on adding ROMS, awesome. I don't have any ROMs, but imagine they can be found in back alley internet sites. What I am wondering, is it possible to hook up a Pandora's Box PCM Jamma Board to the AtGames cabinet, since they have 2,400+ Roms built-in. Is there a better way to build a ROM collection? Would the PB Jamma Board work? Thoughts, ideas for a newbie on how to quickly amass ROMS for the AtGames Cabinet? Thank you!
BirdDog 0426 Whitman an easier method than hooking up a Jamma Pandora’s box set up would be to connect a raspberry pi or an odroid. These both have built in integrated support over Bluetooth and can hold thousands upon thousands of games, plus you don’t need to do any internal modifications and you get to maintain the full functionality of the built in operating system on the cabinet
Anyone get this working with the new 4.0 firmware update? Mine successfully connects but the will not bring up 2 gamepads! What am I doing wrong guys?
I need your help I have odriod and I follow your video but there's no luck for me to connect to my legends ultimate
Hey Cooltoy, I had a guy build me a full size based on wrestlefest. I have all the 64 wrestling games working great. I just mapped one direction of the analogue to a button because thats all you need to do a finisher. Left and right c buttons aren't very important i can do without
I hope they release a 2 player setup so that the entire control panel can be utilized not just 1player, I will keep watching your videos for more info👍
they are working on it, this is just the open beta firmware update. The finished version of this firmware update will have expanded bluetooth support
@@cooltoy thanks for replying great video friend 👍
They already had me at BYOG !!
how are you re-cording that screen with your raspberry pi ?
It’s not a raspberry pi, I’m using an Odroid. The legends Ultimate arcade has the ability to connect its hdmi sources to a hdmi splitter and then connect to a capture card which allows me to capture and record gameplay and myself simultaneously
Anybody know of where to download the roms already in .UCE format?? That would be sweet ;)
Can you play with 2 players on retro pi for legend ultimate
I've got the newest 3.19 update and trying to connect Odroid Xu4 and I dont have the Bluetooth option on my Legends anymore since the update and when I had the Bluetooth option I wouldn't recognize the Odroid can you give me any help.
Kimberly McHenry Bluetooth support is only on the open beta firmware releases at this time. You will need to install one of those beta firmware releases from the AtGames website in order to use Bluetooth until they roll the Bluetooth support into the normal firmware at a later date
Can u do a video how to configure trackball for centipede and spinner for tempest?
Nope, I got rid of this machine a long time ago
Does the current 4.4 release support 2 player linkage via Bluetooth to the Odroid and/or RP?
Brian Hays yes
Have you tried pairing it with a Xbox or PS4?
Can you possibly show a video on the PC part of this? Like the download then we have to rename it. I downloaded the file and it said Corrupt file? I downloaded the file then sent it to the usb flash drive but it’s not working?
John Dimatteo I have the same problem. Don’t know why these guys always leave that part out. Waiting for ETA Prime’s CZcams’s channel to make a video on this, he is much better at explaining things.
If you figure it out, please let me know, I Appreciate it!!
John Dimatteo I will. Same if you do
Jose C Yes, if I figure out I will definitely let you know.
Do you build and sell Odroids. I am a rookie and would like one plug and play ready for my AtGames Arcade
Hi CoolToy - really appreciate your videos. I am running the latest firmware and I dont see the beta option. Is the bluetooth subsumed into the latest release? I dont see a bluetooth setting in my Settings menu. Thanks for your thoughts and keep up the great work
I just realized you already answered the question - sorry about that. ANy idea of when they will take it out of beta?
David Marzo a couple more weeks was last I heard
I have 3.0.18 firmware on my cabinet and it doesn't have the blutooth in the settings. I noticed this is 3.0.12. Do I need to downgrade in order to use this feature?
snowblindu Bluetooth is still in the beta testing stages and has its own dedicated firmware. Once they finish the beta for Bluetooth support that functionality will be rolled into the regular firmware updates going forward
So will the plug in Pi work on future firmware releases or is the plan to prevent it going forward?
it will work on future firmware releases, it's just only supported in a beta firmware update currently as it is still being worked on.
No link for the ODroid Case?!
Any idea on how to get bluetooth application on version 3.0.18? I've tried following this video and instruction on the website but when I insert the usb into the arcade machine it says firmware version not compatible. Trying to add my raspberry pi 3b to the Legends Ultimate arcade and use the joystick. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Patrick Sarker Bluetooth support is only on the open beta firmware versions at this time. Once it’s out of beta testing they will roll the Bluetooth functionality in with the regular firmware releases, but at this time Bluetooth support isn’t available with the 3.0.18 firmware
@@cooltoy thanks a lot for the quick response.
Is that pi image available for download somewhere or did you make it yourself? It looks awesome
its available on the arcadepunks.com website under the odroid images section. 128GB PiPiggies Image
@@cooltoy thanks!
@@cooltoy There are more updated images that work better than that now.
sold out online everywhere. :(
What's it going to take to get games like Golden Tee 2K(or newer) running on this?
jgree32 those games are currently working using the mame2010 core and the AtGames add on tool. I’ve got 5 different golden tee games added to my legends ultimate cabinet on a usb stick and the play exceptionally well with the trackball and everything
@@cooltoy Awesome! I didn't see the mame2010 core in your previous links to the cores. Where can I find it? I assume I'd need a rom pack for 2010 like I downloaded for mame2003. I appreciate your videos! I'm new to the Mame world.
Does the odriod play sega model 3 games?
No, only a PC can play those games.
I have an ODROID but when I tried to pair my ODROID to my ALU arcade it keeps saying "searching" I tried to reboot everything but nothing. Any input would be great
Saurin Parikh I assume you have the Bluetooth dongle for the odroid?
I don’t. I have it Bluetooth to a ps4 controller which works on my ALU. Should I take out the Bluetooth piece out from my ODROID?
@@cooltoy i know this was two years ago, but what dongle do you speak of, will any dongle work? and which port does it go in?
Hi Cooltoy! Does 2 player work yet for the rasp pi on Legends Ultimate?
yes
COOLTOY thanks!!
Cooltoy am I right in thinking the odroid doest come with Bluetooth? And your just using the dongle? Amateur question sorry boss!
Jonathan Stubbs Guitar correct no built in Bluetooth, I have the dongle I’m using included in the video description box. Very cheap and simple to add the Bluetooth functionality to the odroid
COOLTOY awesome thanks dude
COOLTOY have you had the odroid working with atgames firmware 4.1? I’m having trouble with it connecting? Thanks so much man
Hey people, the correct update is ha8800_update. Nothing of img. After. For some odd reason some folks gave me the wrong answer😏
Thanks for this comment I've been trying to figure this out for two days now! I also had .img in the name and that is not correct. Thanks!
Aloha where is the best place to get an odroid xu4
with already loaded games?
they aren't sold with games preloaded. You have to do that part yourself. You can easily find pre made SD card images for the odroid though online that have the games.
COOLTOY Thank you for the response. I was looking at retro gaming house. They have the odroid xu4 with games on an SD card with it basically plug and play. I think,Wanted to check with you to see if this is a good place to get the device and wanted your thoughts. I don’t know a lot about computers/software/etc.
But how do you install the hardware into the legends arcade? I’ve tried it using the flash drive to install it over and over with no luck. It does not show in my arcade after I reset it and all.
make sure you are renaming the downloaded firmware "ha8800_update.img" and saving it into the root of your USB stick and not in a folder on the USB stick. Once you do that, all you have to do is power on the machine, then plug in your USB stick that has the downloaded firmware on it. The arcade cabinet with then register that there is a new firmware update available and ask if you want to update it.
COOLTOY so you don’t need to reset the arcade? Just plug it in?
@@retror.d.1630 the arcade resets after it updates the firmware automatically.
COOLTOY ok thanks! :) for the help. I will try it later on this evening.
All features don’t work after 5.7 or higher… I now have a paper weight.
One of the many reasons I got rid of my AtGames products and stopped supporting them
Would player 2 work?
yes
If the player 2 could also be used it would be perfect
they are working on it, since this is just the open beta of the firmware, it will improve over time
Just wish they would make a 4 player cabinet
they are looking at making a 4 player control panel later on down the line that you can replace this existing one with.
@@cooltoy That would be great as long as the controls arent to compact. I would pay another $200 for maybe a deluxe version possibly with a larger screen
I can only get MAME Roms to work... I am using the "working cores" but none of the others (NES, SNES, Genesis, GBA) will work. Anybody have any help?? Or a link to some .uce format roms ready to go :)
GadjetGotGame did you unzip the roms for the nes, snes, etc?
And the writing is on the wall for Arcade1 Up with this update man its about over just sayin
They talk about how good fire pro is, but it's just not fun. I know how to play it and still don't like fire pro
At this point this isn't even in the same league as arcade 1up lol they should be worried
