Great video! I personally really don't like the art style of Life by You but I hope they succeed in what they are trying to do. The Sims needs competition so badly!
The sims really does need it. They did say the reason they’re delaying LBY was to look into the community’s feedback so it might turn out better
5:03 I feel the exact same way, idk what it is but the sims in LBY look so... like robotic and soul-less at the moment. Their movements feel really NPC like and I'd find it hard to enjoy them outside of laughing at them lmao
Right! The eyes either look soulless or they’re looking through you . I will 100% will be using gshade but the humans vanilla look so uncanny 😂
They pushed back the early access release to March 2024 to work on a lot of things that were suggested in particular the graphics so hopefully the Lifers look better
Yeah saw it as soon as it was announced. I’m so pumped. They’re really giving this game the attention it needs and I’m so excited 😊
This video was really good and informative. I know this game is a work in progress but like you said patience’s is key. Unpopular opinion but I’m not really worried about this game being a “flop” because Rod is behind its development and he knows what makes a good simulation game, that doesn’t mean the game will be perfect but I have high expectations. Lol the bloopers had me dying🤣
I do get the feeling that Rod wants to make sure this game is as good as it can be. And I’m not lying when I say I messed up on every single line. What I put in at the end was the most tame of the bloopers I could find 😂

Like for me it’s interesting to compare this with paralives. Para went with polish along the way with an achievable goal and a small team. LBY went with polish at the very end with a seemingly growing goal and a probably big team. This all ended up looking like one game has been rushed (LBY) and one looking like there’s love and intention behind every detail (para)
great video! definitely cautiously optimistic for this game, im a bit hesitant to preorder in early access because of some of the issues you mentioned in this video (most notably the graphics, the humans are a bit uncanny looking and creepy to me, some of their bodies look kind of unnatural) but i am looking forward to seeing the gameplay videos by other life sim players and seeing how it turns out before i decide to get it :o
Cautiously Optimistic is exactly how I feel. Will definitely not pre order but I will be buying day 1. The world itself I can learn to love but the humans need a lot of work. But best believe I will be using gshade and any lighting mod to give the game that extra ✨
as a community we really need to come down on them about the character models if they want their game to be successful. that is the ONLY way to get them to fix it. im interested in this game but not if the models look that fucked up
I’m stalking their weekly updates. Wish it was March already. They’ve made some really good improvements. The thing is that when it comes out in Early Access it will probably change even more. There are some games I’ve played that have changed a lot from when they started on Early Access. I think if they had made the models a bit closer to their concept art in style it would have fit better but I’m liking the overall changes we keep seeing. Just wish they’d let us know what we have to do to bring in our own objects and stuff because I want to work on things for the game while I wait.

Just found your channel! Nice video! I'm of the same opinion on all your points and I really hope the delay will help them polish a lot of the things we are worried about. I'm super excited for this game but also super scared of all the possibilities of it going wrong. Us simmers need a break for real.
