Yeah but life by you is actually showing things not just build mode. I backed paralives for a long time but I truly feel they are over ambitious and might release something lack luster. Idk I'm tired of games releasing broken unfinished and unpolished at launch. Idk if it's indie, ea, or a beloved studio. I am tired of it. So let's see how both these release as well as the sims 5. Im not paying for anything unfinished, from anybody. No excuses.

i can't like sims 3 much i prefer sims 2 and 4, but i still see it as a good game it did bring too many new stuff and was a game that tried to do new things. so i apreciate it for what it is, but after the infants update its hard to go back to older sims game now for me.

If only we knew what we know now about LBY (bad 3d models, bad animations with no possibilty of fixing because of how bad the rigs of the models are and then the delay with no mentioned relase date for early access).

Thank you for the Buzzfeed-esque personality test for Life Sims! Indeed all new life Sims game cater different styles of play styles. I got 4 Bs and 1 A, so I'm a builder lol. But I usually play every aspect of the game tbh.

i am mostly in column A, but I also want the game to throw challenges at me and curveballs. Sometimes I had a plan and then something weird happens in a game I just go with. Also in game goals and challenges that make me step through to end game are what make it different from when I just sit down and write. I am not a MOD Queen but I have gone down MOD shopping rabbit holes looking for something the game just doesn’t have (like backwards caps for kids and pacifiers) and getting distracted by ten things along the way I simply ‘must’ have in my game. 75% of my mods tho are gameplay mods that add new challenges to the game or layers to elements already there. When I build I build for story, like i have been working for months on a base save and have a list of projects, but I don’t so much love building so much as I like setting up my world for the stories to come. I think with Mods there are three types of heavily modded games. Heavily modded aesthetics,Heavily Modded gameplay, and a heavy mix of both. I tend to lean more on heavily modded gameplay over heavily modded aestetics.

Ingame marketing would be awesome to give the game money. But an intelligent one. TV's ingame running commercials of real life products, New objects of real-life brands being inserted into the game's catalog, like an Ikea furniture or Gap shirt, a Toyota car, stuff like that. It would be a nice way of giving everyone free content, not charging for DLC and having money being brought in.

I had 2 A's, 2 B's, and 1 C. Paralives is definitely the one I'm most interested in, but I think it's because it has extreme promise for both build mode and live mode to me, plus I love the art style. I'd probably rank them Paralives, Inzoi, Life By You, Vivaland in that order for now. Inzoi looks like it'll have good build/buy and (hopefully) amazing gameplay. We'll see how Life By You shapes up with the latest delay, it could be second. Vivaland's rugs specifically are a HUGE turn off, I do not want permanently messed up rugs in my builds - and that's an item usually used in every room of the house! And online play is something I'm against in my life simulators.

Man, I think my playstyle(focus on characters and stories) will probably fit Inzoi and definitely Paralives. But I sure hope we get to see all those games released in the future years. (Also, mods are not a priority to me, but it's nice to be able to have the possibility there.) Obs: funny video, by the way, it's nice to see you trying different things.🎉

I've just come up with a name for fans of Paralives like you and me. What do you think of Paralivers? I'm not gonna play any other life simulation games than Paralives. Paralives is the only game fore me. But i'm very happy that the others exist for those people who do like the more realistic style.

The main thing they need to improve is the overall aesthetic and art style of the game. Everything else seems to be good, I just hope there is strong focus on quests character progression and a rewards/skills tree.

I dont mind how long they take or how much they delay, if it is needed and it will be better, i'm happy with it

i thought it was only me that couldnt make it past gen 1 in sims 4 i did once years ago have four generations but i havent been able to since i mostly will build a house then put my sim in then sit there completly bored nothin for my sim to do community lots are dead loading screens break my immersion and then i quit the game and dont play it for months till a new pack comes out then the cycle repeats build house watch sim spend hours doing nothin then quit

Just hack the game and stop giving EA your hard earned money. They're a soulless corporation, not your friend. The sims 4 is a product, not a passion project. This is capitalism, folks.

Wow, I love your editing in this video, felt like a documentary and I do hope we see less of The Sims. I'm just so disappointed, and I really used to love their games. My hopes are with Paralives, Inzoi and LBY. My guess is that EA will try very hard to appeal to the public but when a new good game come out, we'll see less people engaging with TS4 and even TS5.

I gotten the sims4 when it came out i hated how much money it was and that there was no Ghost lifestate to play and i played it for about a week or so and found it lacking alot compared to the sims3 and regretted buying it and just went back to playing the the first sims and sims 3 and never bothered buying another pack or anything for sims4 its sad EA went down this route

I can’t be the only one that finds the newer life sims kind of creepy and uncanny. Lol especially Inzoi. It taps the part of my brain that fears things like that.

some people dont care and will play a buggy game support the dev team and help make them aware of problems to make it better until its patched a good game is a good game some complain as if even after release its not gonna have bugs or or updates its always a choice to purchase or not purchase and the reason most havent delve into sim games beacause its not easy and a small community based on other game overall we know we gonna buy the game even if it dropped last year and if this game pulling a chunk of sim community we gonna support em

My thoughts are that people are seeking nostalgia in this current time. We are quickly becoming annoyed by cash grabbing elite companies profiting and offering lackluster products. The soul has left the Sims along with all the bugs, it’s just not worth the money. It’s tiring to watch EA further release packs that should have been in the original game. Way back when the sims first came out I remember it would give you a certain feeling when playing it, along with the sims 2. Somewhere down the line EA sold out like the rest of these big companies. We are in the era of watching these companies collapse to make room for new and refreshing ideas built off pure creativity and love.

I think the people that get overly defensive of sims 4, and specially of EA, just don't like to exercise their critical thinking. I have over a thousand hours of gameplay in Sims 4, all original (bc I need mod support and already spent money on DLCs years ago), and don't actually want to switch to Sims 3 (mainly bc I've grown accostumed to the few new features of Sims 4), but I'm the first person to tell EA to f*ck off. I wouldn't be caught dead defending a company as shady and greedy as EA, much less their current behavior of sucking dry every good thing about a game franchise. If I'm giving them money you BET I'll criticize them when they don't deliver. People need to realize that their tastes are NOT the same thing as the soulless companies that make the stuff they love, and to worship a corporation is to set yourself up to failure, because those companies and the people who run them and profitt off of them literally don't care about anything other than money. That should be obvious for EA fans, seeing how easy they turned around Will Wright's critique of consumerism of the original Sims game into precisely an altar to it in only a few years. I still can enjoy Sims 4, with my 12gb of mods overhauling the lackluster DLC features, but as soon as the final game patch comes out, I'm updating my mods one last time and pirating the hell out of it, and staying there. I don't even want to touch Sims 5, because it all just looks like it's gonna be a facebook-style MMO and I've already had my fun playing those in 2015 as a kid, but now I can only give my time, energy and money to pay-once games that don't try to suck you dry.

The Sims 5 can end in Cities Skylines 2 disaster. People used to use DLCs, and if a new clean game comes out, people would say "But the previous game was better!". It would be very hard to code the whole game with all the DLCs from scratch and update it with even more DLCs later. And yes, I see that games are harder and harder to pirate and what is the best way to make a game unpiratable? Make it free! And pay2win its contents.

I'll probably continue to play Sims 3. I love me my supernaturals and it doesn't look like the new ones will have them. Though, who knows, maybe one of them will add them later? Regardless, I still plan on at least checking out the new games, even if I don't end up playing them long term.

If simcity is anything to go by, and there is a competitor that does what City Skylines did. I do believe that EA share in the life sim genre will shrink a good size. Plus there will be multiple life sim games. Sims won't be the main life sim game anymore, once each of these games fully release. It's going to slowly die. There's won't be a reason for them to invest more time and money in the game, when they can just pay more attention to their other games that gross more money than the sims. Madden and FIFA. The sims community may think sims is a huge game in EA portfolio. But it really isn't, especially compared to Madden or FIFA.

i kinda blame the players bc they’re doing the same thing with TS4 they did with TS3, they were tired of TS3 and wanted EA to make a new game, when EA released "into the future" it flopped so hard they knew they had to release TS4 very soon if they wanted to keep sales up, they rushed and released something that wasn’t even fully finished and had to change direction (coming from a game who was supposed to be online to make it a single player game and led to what we know today : full of bugs and less features overall.) I also blame the players because even though they complain over and over (and if we’re being honest they complained since the release of the base game) they keep the game alive by buying more and more. Players have the power to keep that game alive or make it dead. If we’re being honest without players’ money EA cannot do shit. They don’t wanna listen to y’all complaints about their game being literally unplayable ? Fine, DON’T buy more then. EA is a company like another, they don’t care what we think about their games until it impacts the sales. They’ll act like a "friendly company creating new things for people who support them", like every business do, the truth is they don’t care about what we say until they lose money and it shows. If you don’t believe me or think i’m exaggerating, EA is known for only thinking about bills, video games players know that when EA buy a franchise from another company, they’ll add micro transactions and make them games unplayable because of that. I think the same thing that happened to TS3 is gonna happen with TS4, they TRY to avoid it by releasing more packs and for the moment it’s working. But slowly it’ll die which is most likely already happening ig? and this time the situation is even worse because sims players aren’t "waiting for a new EA game", they’re waiting for the "new life simulator game".

If EA is not heeding any signs that all the other life sim games are trying to take a piece of the pie. The Sims 4 and Project Rene will be doomed. However, I personally don't think any of the games are capable to "take down" the Sims, but they are well capable to chip any the monopoly that has been held for over 2 decades. Interesting analysis of the groups of Sims players, it is a broad distinction but a good analysis nonetheless.

I’m only here for realistic gaming sims so I’m excited for LBY and Inzoi. If they’re bad then I’ll go back to TS3. Denizen fell flat because of the bugs but if they fix those it could be fun. As for the multiplayer aspect of TS5 it would probably work like other multiplayer games. If your friend doesn’t have the CC or pack you’re playing with they could either not see it in the game (the cc) or if it’s a pack they could see it in game but if they wanted to buy it, then it would be in a shop area.

FYI: Life By You did not come out of nowhere. Some type of announcement came out of Paradox AROUND A DECADE ago that they were looking into or considering making a life simulation game, and that was about six months after they hired Rod Humble. This was not that long after The Sims 4 came out and enraged many longtime Sims 3 players similar to myself. Paralives looks like it will be enjoyable, but it does not have the same amount of people as LBY, and more importantly it is likely that LBY started development a year or two before Paralives. LBY has experienced people with longtime experience in this game genre (not just Rod), and they all have new ideas on how to do and implement it better. The most important thing is these creative people do not have any of the restrictions that Maxis, EA, or The Sims franchise placed on them. When I heard the Paradox initial announcement, I became like Inspector Girard looking for Richard Kimble (The Fugitive movie reference). And Life By You is my Richard Kimble. These developers had a complete media blackout, I tell you, for years there was not even a whiff about, and I was doing intensive Internet searches at least every three months. I was beginning to think that the original message I read, was actually some weird fart that materialized into a dream about a much better game than The Sims 4. Paradox are masters of media blackouts, probably helps that they are headquartered in Europe. Then I think it was last year either late May or early June they dropped the Life By You trailer, I screamed out loud--I FOUND KIMBLE!! LBY did not just magically appear out of nowhere, they have working on this a long time. ZERO NEWS SNIPETS UNTIL THE TRAILER. It is very possible my timeline is off, but am very certain that it was started long before Paralives, the main difference in information is the Paralives was much more public with their development. With the difference in staff size between Paralives and Life By You is considerable. LBY does not have a huge staff, it is not Maxis, but it is likely they have at least three or four times the staff. Also factor in the LBY people are much more experienced at this type of thing. The amount of total man hours worked on the two projects is likely to favor LBY by around 15 times. I apologize if my comment was kind of salty. I like your channel, I think you are a very nice and decent person and 100% happy to claim as a very informative fellow Simmer. I want both of them Life by you will hold me over until para lives because I’m so done with the Sims four i’ve been playing since the Sims one, but I’m just done it’s horrible and so broken and lacking

the para folk and their surroundings are kinda like the same art style but rendered differently… it’s not like lby where the art direction is unclear
