The componant you really need is just Methylene chloride. If you can find a paint stripper that still has it it will work on powder coat. I use loctite sf 790 gasket remover when I have to redo a part. Its cheap and locally available.
Thanks for the informative video. I just tried Rust-oleum Aircraft Remover on a black powder coated lower Harley fork tube. The first coat of Remover took off some powder coat here and there. The second coat of Remover took off a little more (about 30% of the total power coat). This was a high quality Ink Black powder coat from Prismatic Powders, and it was bonded very well to the fork tubes.
I’ve tried everything nothing works easy, there’s a product called RIM SRIP and it takes everything off just wash it and your done but it’s $2000 for 55 gallon drum and $700 for 5 gallon bucket way too much for diyer
Thanks for your test. I know which one I’ll be going with.

Dont forget paint stripper is water neutralized and gasket remover leave residue
Thank you!
Would this work on powder coated rims
The Permatex gasket remover used to contain the desired methelene chloride !
This clears up a lot for me. I saw crc gasket remover to work well too.
Where did you get that Permatex gasket remover aerosol spray? I can't find it anywhere ...
Awesome video ... thanks! But please find a different powder coater! That metal wasn't even prepped underneath it looks like ...
Damn, I was surprised too...🤨
Can i use this to remove powder coating from alloy wheels, or is it to much of a surface? Thank you
Can you just paint over a powder coated surface like say a bike frame ? Instead of the hassle of removing the powder coat .
acetone is the best fyi
Wouldn’t it be easier and lest trouble to replace the bolts? Don’t how much the stripper cost?
Both are the same product, powder coat, vs. 4 coats of krylon, Im using the aircraft remover on my rims, I want the strongest stuff available

You can also just use heat. PC disintegrates at 500*
thanks for sharing of your experiment. i'm gonna try it and see what success i get. if it's near what you got, i'll be very happy.
Damn, I tried CRC gasket remover and even aircraft paint remover on bumper for UTV and absolutely nothing worked.
