    I have screws on my ultra light aircraft struts that need to come out without damaging thin 6061 aluminum. Heat is NOT an option. So I came here and found your vid. I will try this, with acetone first as I have that in the shop. If that doesn’t work I’ll try CRC brake cleaner. Thanks… this info is a godsend!

    Here me out. It's videos like this that pisses me off for not being prepared and following through blindly. I made my own box, cause I couldn't get one cheap enough. It worked out, but took WAAAAY longer than it should have, if I could've visualized the dimensions of the box. Cobb's instructions aren't as helpful, because they're broad. In hindsight, this video would've been a lifesaver. So if there's a lesson to be learned, do you're homework first.

    23:40 I use the same PermaTex Ultra Grey on all my oil pan gaskets - people don't always like the 24 hour cure time, but it's worth it. I've never had a leak and some of the gaskets are several years old at this point. Holds up as good as the seal from the factory did. Great video and thanks for sharing this. I looked at my neighbor's Xterra who wanted his oil pan leak addressed - figured it was at the end seals like yours leaked, too, that's what it looks like. Not a fun job to do, it seems, but not awful either.

    This looks like oil starvation. You mentioned oil dilution? Using e85?

    • @AdrianMorse42069
      @AdrianMorse42069 Před 2 měsíci

      It was about to be tuned on e85. Oil pressure was always good. At least that's what the sensor was telling me

    • @jimmyram89
      @jimmyram89 Před 2 měsíci

      Ok then oil dilution wasn't the problem. And if you're not on e85 I assume you're hp and tq aren't that high which means your light weight pulley wasn't the cause either. After watching the video again I take back my oil starvation comment. Oil starvation causes heat and all your rods and crank show zero signs of heat. Notice how all the rod bearings are bad on the piston side of them? This is from knock/pre detonation. I'm going to guess that your main bearings are fine which is another sign that the rod bearing failure is from knocking

    • @jimmyram89
      @jimmyram89 Před 2 měsíci

      One more thing, if you're going on e85 it's time to get rid of that light weight crank pulley. No easier time to do that when it's apart 😅

    • @AdrianMorse42069
      @AdrianMorse42069 Před 2 měsíci

      @@jimmyram89 yeah it's not going back on. I could very well have had a faulty knock sensor. The only time it registered any knock was when it shut off during a dyno pull and then when restarted that's when you could hear it knocking. Pistons also show no signs of detonation.

    • @AdrianMorse42069
      @AdrianMorse42069 Před 2 měsíci

      I'm not an expert by any means but I'm sure the lightweight pulley caused some issues. Maybe some fuel dilution to the oil and the lack of harmonic dampening wore out the bearings and they finally gave out on the dyno

    How do you know the difference between the supercharged and regular radiator? Like the specs to differentiate? I replaced w the standard one but it starts to get hot on long steep grades especially during summer on was wondering if the supercharged would keep it cool. Let me know thanks 🙏🏼

      My guess is poor lubrication in my case. My oil had a good smell of fuel which I think diluted the oil just enough to keep it from lubricating the bearings enough. Was probably fine at the low rpms I usually drove at but when it was hitting the limiter on the dyno it couldn't handle it any more.

    Stupidly easy on a 2002 Naturally Aspirated 3.3L V6. Since I have a manual transmission it was even easier - no transmission lines to disconnect/reconnect. I put in a radiator for an automatic because I got one for $60 on RockAuto. The ports where the transmission lines would hook up came with plugs on them (not that it would matter - they form an isolated loop in the radiator.) Also, no need to remove the battery. I did remove the coolant overflow reservoir, but mostly because I also replaced the overflow hose. The radiator fill funnel worked great, as well. I got one with a little ball valve on it instead of the plug on a handle, but it’s the same concept. Pretty sure it took me longer to watch the video than to do the work, which is NEVER usually the case. Basically everything else I have had to do on this thing has taken 2-3x longer than I think, because between Nissan making some stupid decisions on a lot of things & me being an idiot, well… Thank you for the walkthrough! It made this an absolute breeze. I probably could have kept rocking my JB Weld patch on the upper plastic housing for months or years, but with how cheap radiators are for these, it gives me peace of mind to know it won’t become a problem again down the line. Keep up the good work!
