In this video we take greensolv against ecostrip from Powder Strip. The results were a bit shocking to me actually and I need to do more testing. Please forgive me for the amount of times I said the wrong name of products.....its a weakness of mine.

Do you have any experience with General Chemical, one of their upsides is some of their strippers are a 1:1 concentrate with water. They have another that is 1:1 but any adds are 1:5. Maybe worth a look.

@@ShellbackPowderCoatingI do. I used 6842 and after a year it “expired.” Then a disposal company wants 900 a drum to dispose of. You can evaporate it out to get rid of it but yeah.

I am from Canada and Ecostrip is way cheaper to import than buying greensolv witch is 3 hour away from my shop. The eco strip booster work really well. Hopefully they came out with an oil to put on top

great video, i use greensolv for my metal wheels which is different than what you have. i also have b17e for aluminum which is a heated eco stripper also. ive been wanting to switch from b17e though bc after a while it seems it doesnt strip as good and leaves goo on the wheels which doesnt come off easy.

Impressive! I need to look into a heated tank for sure! Just got a 55 gallon of RimStrip in......would rather go with something more eco friendly.

    Hey Dan, excellent video,
Would you be willing to review our non heated chemical stripping product? We are a mom and pop sized chemical manufacturer out of Salt Lake City, we’ve been around 41 years, we make a non-acid powder stripper that uses a water blanket. Would be happy to send you 25 gallons to review. We’ve been getting people out of B17 and greensolve for people who would rather use a non heated product, but without the dangers of B17 which contains HF.
Let me know if you might be up for another product review. Cheers

Is this powder strip brand eco strip? If so did you buy the regular eco strip or the actual rim strip?

    Just found your channel!
My family is looking at buying a Powder coat shop to do our own equipment- we refurbish our equipment fleet (500 scissor lifts and other aerial equipment)
We have around 10 scissors at a PC shop at any given time, so we want to bring it in house-
The best results we’ve had as a customer to remove the old powder coating was a shop that would bake it off in a huge oven that got super hot, then they would blast it…
Have you heard of this practice before? Having trouble even finding the name of the type of ovens for this process.

I have an industrial size oven. When i cook my parts, it takes hours if not overnight to cook properly, then most the time only part of the project is actually cured. Whats this issue and how do i fix it?

Incase y’all didn’t notice most these eco strippers are potassium hydrochloride (potash) or sodium hydrochloride (lye) diluted with water which you can buy locally a lot cheaper, like at a coop. It’s a caustic base , the opposite of an acid. this is the old way they used to strip paint in a hot tank. Don’t be fooled by their exaggerated prices. They won’t tell you that

    • @Mrs.Reiche

I have been using the eco strip for almost 3 years.. i love it.. the price is more than 2/3rds the peice cheaper than greensolv. They do make a "spiker" for high use tanks

Stupid question. Hanging parts, how does the powder get under the wire (like the wire is holding the piece through a hole but all of it needs to be coated, does it leave a wire mark or does the powder somehow flow under the wire)

    • @RightNowPowderCoating
      @RightNowPowderCoating  Před 9 měsíci +2

There are typically hook marks, some will touch up after cure with liquid paint. Unavoidable.

@@RightNowPowderCoatinghuh, you don't hang it and give it a 2nd coat? Just use paint? What about if you're doing a candy colour. Only powder coating I've ever done was fence rails in an industrial setting but very keen to try my hand at setting up a small scale shop so any and all info is appreciated. Love your videos by the way.
