  • Alex from Tropical Acres Farms talks about the Karan Michelle mango tree and I taste the mango. You can order the fruit when in season and the tree from Tropical Acres Farms at:
    www.tropicalac...
    Description from their website:
Karen Michelle was an Edward seedling from the breeding program of Gary Zill of Boynton Beach, FL (planting # 1-15). It was named after the wife of Craig Campbell.
The original tree has reportedly been a very light producer. The fruit are large, ovoid an turn yellow when ripe. The flesh is medium-firm, fiberless and has a very high quality, rich-sweet balanced classic flavor very similar to Edward, with perhaps a touch more sweetness than its parent normally.
We grafted a tree into Karen Michelle in 2017 to evaluate its production habit. The tree began fruiting in 2020 and has produced each year since. It has a moderately vigorous growth habit with a dense canopy. The fruit has ripened early-to-mid season for us so far and has been very resistant to mango bacterial black spot.
    Flavor: Classic
    Country: Florida - USA

I used to live in Florida, miss growing mangoes in my backyard. Is that sunflower microgreens you’re growing behind you? I’ve been growing microgreens for my family as well.

I do have the kesar,Amrapalli and Langra. Kesar and Amrapalli did good under Florida condition in sandy soil with excessive rainfall. My original Langra hasn't bloomed yet.

I think in the next five years there will be the big Mango Shakeout. Many new varieties will be forgotten. Which will survive?

Hey Paul can you do a mango taste test on the 40-26. It's supposed to be a dwarf variety. Orlando gardener did a taste test on it and said it blew his mind on how good it tasted. I'd like a second opinion before i make my decision on buying 1. And also do a taste test on the cecilove mango. Heard it's pretty good also

If you've room for ZILL 40-26 and Cecilove, you can simply plant them both. They're mind-blowing.

Great Question. They all have a similar taste and I haven't tasted enough of either to really decide but so far from the very few I tasted I would have to say Ice cream and white parie but I only tasted the others once or twice
