I’m doing lovely 1 year so far!
@@breebellamy Glad to hear it. My surgery is scheduled for June 5th. Is weight falling off of you?
Dang, I wish you were my doctor sis! Your energy is absolutely wonderful, I love it!!!! Thank you for the informative video!!!! I just got approved for my surgery and am looking at every single video about the surgery so thank you!!!!!!!
This makes us so happy to hear! Thanks for watching and best of luck on your weight loss surgery journey!
How did it go?
I am 6 days out from laparoscopic Roux-en-Y surgery. That was more painful than my hip replacement. Yes I walked and even did time on a NuStep machine. So I don’t need advised to move. Today I went shopping OY-Vay and it was difficult. I am in my 60s and that may have something to do with it. But keep in mind it is definitely NOT painless and easy for everyone.
Thank you for this video. I’m about to do the surgery journey. I’m so excited
Thanks for watching!
I have watched all your videos through my 6 month journey. I'm scheduled for a sleeve 5/10/23 and you have definitely helped the nerves! 🥰
Good luck
Just read your message today, day of your surgery. Good luck and hope all goes well. 😃
I’m scheduled for 6/7/2023🙏🏻
Wish you well! Congratulations 🎉
It has been good. I'm sore. But it hasn't been unbearable. It's a very surreal experience.

Stomach aches are one of my biggest fears. I hate gas, it hurts. A lot. More research to do.
I had mine three days ago was in ICU for high blood sugar better now
Okay Queen!!! Educate us 🥰🥰🥰
She seems so sweet and bubbly personality is very inviting
The gas is the hardest part for me. I walked for hours and it still wouldn’t come out. It didn’t come out until 3 days later once I was home
You can walk all you want that gas will make you want to kill yourself
There should honestly be a psa for the gas pains after this surgery. Incision pain is non existent, it’s the gas.
The gas was sooooo bad lol. I told my dr I hate him lol
😩😩😩

So how did surgery go and which one did you have vsg/roux n y
Hello I have a question after I got my gastro sleeve surgery on the 17 the recently when I woke up my esophagus was in so much pain felt like I was going to die it literally was the most horrible pain and it since has subsided but it still hurts when I swallow even water it hurts when it hits that spot right between my breast like at the very very top of my abdomen it just hurts passing that spot my question is
Is that normal and will it go away I can't stand the thought of that always being there sometimes it literally just hurts so bad I told it like passes that area.
Hi, how is the pain? Is it still there...
This was very h thank you

I’m going to start eating the amount that will fit into a reduced stomach. Maybe I’ll lose it without surgery.
The hormone that causes hunger queues will still be there so it will nag you to crave more. This hormone is cut away during surgery so the battle is halved.
Also with bypass there’s some malabsorption which wouldn’t be there without the surgery. Good luck though 😁
Plz make a video of the after care. Recipes patients can use. The fact that they go home with blood thinners. Alternative gas medicine. The multivitamins meant to crush can be swapped for gummies but very well chopped (chew in tiny bites). The gel vitamin d how can it be consumed. I feel after we go home there’s no help with something as simple as information.
That depends on your surgeon and even the hospital. Mine provided tons of info. Best to reach out to them for your specific recommendations. If that doesn't work, then look at reputable hospital bariatric programs' info online, such as Cleveland Clinic. Hope this helps (even though it's months after your comment).
I just love her name
I wanna get my vsg done soon but I’m scared I seen good reviews about this vsg surgery years ago almost 11 years and now I wanna do it but I’m scared
We encourage you to take the first step by speaking with a board-certified bariatric surgeon in your area. They should be able to answer any questions you have and alleviate any concerns. These are very helpful, but I wish the gaze of the teleprompter would be raised up. I find videos very difficult to watch when the subject of the video is not looking straight into the camera. The eye gaze of these videos is always looking down or a downward perspective and for me it's very difficult to watch, so I put it in the background and do other things while I listen. Great content, but wish the production was better... just need to raise up the telemprompter so it is at a level gaze with the camera lense so it appears you are looking at your viewer and not at their chest/neck.
Hi I’m one week and 4 days out and feeling great how long do I wait to do house cleaning like mopping and sweeping and cleaning the bathroom
You can do that immediately after your surgery. The goal is to have the patient walking around within hours after their surgery. This will reduce your chances of developing a blood clot.
So cute
Two to three weeks? I have a desk job and my surgeon's office said if I feel okay, I can go back in a week. I don't want to us FMLA if possible. Heck, I'm more worried about the gas because when I had my tubal ligation, it made me so pukey!
Yeah I have the same feelings towards this. I have a desk job also, I’m HR. And I am planning to go back to work the following week after my surgery. I hope all goes well and I’m able to do that!
Did you feel okay to go back the following week? I’m hoping I will be
@@Loveme-bf1cw I ended up having so little energy that I took the second week off also, eve though up until the end of the first week, I was planning on going back. The cleae liquids week left me with so little energy that taking the second week off too was the best option.

Update
I'm almost 2 weeks post op and I'm having pain in my throat that won't go away
It is likely due to the breathing tube you had in your throat during surgery. If it has not improved we recommend you go see your surgeon.
How long should I be concerned about blood clots after surgery a few days after or weeks after .
I had my surgery March 1st 36 LBS.down from 378
Within a few weeks, your risk of blood clots will diminish however you want to make sure you are staying active to lower your chances of clotting with the first few weeks post-op. Here is a blog all about blood clots: bcofa.com/blood-clots-after-bariatric-surgery/
Will this require the patients to be on catheters after surgery? I had to have one for a different surgery earlier this year
No, patients will not need a catheter after weight loss surgery
Question doctor January
My husband did this surgery 2 weeks ago and I feel he is having hard time to pass liquid down to his stomach. He is feeling too much pain whenever the liquid is about to enter the stomach. He can’t even drink shakes or thick broth. The same feeling happens with water. Is it normal? Two days ago they gave him blood solution to get his energy back since he doesn’t drink well. I feel so sad for him. Do we have to worry or we just wait two more weeks ?
How is your husband doing now?
I had this same problem
Oh my goodness the same thing is happening to me and it can hurt so bad and when I first woke up from surgery I was in the most horrible pain I ever felt in that same area it has subsided but it still hurts when I even drink water sometimes did you happen to find out anything please let me know
@@susanappleby7687Hi, dear, how hv u been doing now? Mi d sharing?
does the incision near the nelly button cause any hernias or so? the belly button is a very sensitive area so is it safe to make an incision there?
Question do you have to go to to the dr after 6 months post op after bariatric surgery ?
We recommend it! The most successful patients are those who follow up regularly with their surgeon and bariatric care team
Hi. How long after the initial visit w the bariatric doctor do I get the surgery??
Thank u.
It will depend on your insurance company and the program you are going through. On average, our patients get through the program in 200 days (~6 months). If you are dedicated to the program and your insurance requires a 3 month diet (or less), then there is a chance you could get your surgery within 3 - 4 months from your initial visit.
@@LiveHealthyMD thank u
Today is 10 days post opp and I have pain on my abdomin
Thanks for that information. I got approved for my surgery which will be 03/23...This question is for anyone....how soon do you recommend driving after surgery?
Hi, we recommend you wait about a week. Make sure you are not taking any medication or in any discomfort or pain. Good luck with your surgery!
How are you doing now!? I had preOP and everything just waiting for a date now I’m excited
@@aliciasegovianoz Hi I am doing great now. It's definitely an experience I'll never forget. Yes it is exciting that you'll get your date soon.
Do you think it ok to travel (flights) 4 weeks after surgery?
Yes, that should be fine. However we are concerned about the possibility of developing a blood clot so you might want to speak to your doctor about taking a blood thinner the day before you travel there and back. But also be sure to walk around on the plane if it is a long flight.
I had mine last week Wednesday and i travelled 4hours back to uk 2day. I had blood thinners and walked up and down the aisle on plane....i also had flight socks on...im home and fine...no issues
Scales with break down of foods
Yes the gas is terrible for me
Hi. So I had a Gastric Bypass August of 2021 while weighing 289. 2022 now weighing 210. So when do you think I would be able to have skin removed
Isn't this a question for your doctor?
For sure
Yeah but just wanting to see if someone can relate. No harm right😉👍
They suggest about 18 months post or when your weight has stabilized
Not trying to be rude but is that enough weight loss in order to warrant a surgery to remove excess skin?
I’m sitting down most of the day at my job, can I go back to work within a week after the surgery?
I’m sure you could go to work immediately
Yes, as long as your surgeon is okay with you going back to work within a week.
How long before ai can go to the beach?
We recommend you give yourself at least a week of rest and recovery after weight loss surgery. Although you can walk and move around, we want you to avoid strenuous exercises to avoid bursting your incisions. If you are sitting in a car for a long time down to the beach, you should make stops frequently to walk around and limit the potential of getting a blood clot.
I always thought MD meant Maryland cause that’s where I live 😀🤭
If we have an office job can we go back in a week?
That will vary based on your surgeon's guidelines but in almost all cases, yes
Can you take fiber or stool softener? After gastric bypass??
Yes you can
@@LiveHealthyMD thank you 😌
